"6 cubic feet per minute (cfm) at 90 psi" in case anyone *else* was wondering...

Thanks lots of good information, only wish maybe it could have included some close up footage thru a cutting shield. Or at least closer, once the cut was made and especially for the gouging application.

Instructor's reaction to the 45XP after changing a consumable is funny being that he uses these machines on a regular basis - or so he says.

Hypertherm is high end for daily use. Most of us who are just hobbyist can't constitute $1800 price tag. I would like to see some budget options that work well but at a much better cost. I myself would only use it a few times a year maybe. But when you need one, they are invaluable.

Also, you didn't mention compressor requirements. My understanding is you need a good one. Not one of those little pancake ones.

Yeah, wont run off a small compressor.

Hey they are only 2800 now! If you’d have bought it then you’d sell it for more than you bought it for….and used it for four years!

Just an FYI....the 45XP is rated at 5/8 material at 20 inches per minute. It can sever 1 1/8 material.

Nice plasma cutter, I'd get either a HYPERTHERM, ESAB/THERMAL DYNAMICS, MILLER, HOBART, or LINCOLN & I'd try to buy one used on Craigslist also to save some money. On my wish list, one of many. Thanks for sharing Brian. HYPERTHERM makes prolly the best plasma cutters on the market, love to have their biggest on a big automated plasma cutting table. I dream of building my own 7.5" scale live steam type railroad on some good acreage someday b4 I kick the bucket :-) WHOOT WHOOT!

Is this a Hypertherm Ad? Thermal Dynamics invented the drag tip, now owned by ESAB, and most every cheap Chinese plasma cutter has a drag tip these days. Just getting to the truth.
