What people go through just amazes me. It is really heartbreaking doctors are clueless. Without internet or social media a lot of people would not find brain retraining and programs to help. I am sure a lot of people were put in mental hospitals years ago and called crazy. Blessings to both of you for sharing your story and showing what is possible. 🌻👣

Thank you Cindy. One can only imagine who people who have suffered this say 50yrs ago has been through, when there was literally no clue what this is.
Thank goodness that we're here today.

Hannah, I hope you are so proud of yourself. How you survived the medical abuse you talk about (because that's what it is!) is a miracle and says so much about your inner strength and hope. I feel privileged to have heard your story. Good luck!!

Hello Hannah. I can relate. The shakiness and legs just giving way or feeling weighted. I get this sometimes after I shower. After I walk stairs or in a store (which I don't do often).....it is very unsettling.
Your story gives me hope. I used to run marathons and dance ballet. I worked full time and a part time gig on weekends, too. Had active social life....vacations every year. Started my MA degree but could not finish it. Now I am bedridden during severe flares and homebound 75% of the time, struggling to do ADL'S and run basic errands, etc. Stay strong. Your recovery is an inspiration. Sorry you went through all of the things you had to endure. I too went through the "you have a major mental illness" label and wrongful diagnosis. No, it is not depression. Maybe situational but.....not clinical. Thank you for giving us hope. Lots of love. 🙏💖

The more people you meet with this illness you’ll find our “before” stories are all similar.
You’ll get there, follow the rules and principles. You won’t do it perfectly and it’ll take time but that’s ok ❤❤

This is such a great recovery story!! Hannah you've come SO far!! One of the things I love the most is the honesty (how long it took, how hard it was with ups n downs, how she's not working yet etc). Most recovery stories out there make it look like the person is super-human after recovery which makes it seem so unattainable and rare. This one makes me feel like it is possible and not striving for perfect. A beautiful life awaits us! I can relate to many parts of this one ~ and that video at the end! 😭🥰 🙌🌟

It's amazing you are still here Hannah.. well done for coming through. I'm sure you must have felt hopeless.. what a story that is. I wish the medical profession in England all believed in this condition and how serious it can be.

Hi Hannah, thank you so much for sharing your story. I can really resonate with soooo much of your story and symptoms. I'm also 32 from Portsmouth, I knew I recognised that accent :) I would love to reach out to you personally if you would be open to that? I don't know anyone else who has been, or going through CFS and although I've been watching lots of videos from people with CFS, I feel I need more confidence from someone tangible that this really works however crazy that sounds. I've come very close to joining the programme I'm just waiting for afew personal things to calm down to give the attention I know my recovery needs.
Also loved the part about childhood trauma and telling everyone what you thought 😅 ill hold off doing that!
Thank you again for sharing your story, you're so inspiring.I know I was meant to see this ❤ sorry to hear all you have had to go through x

      Hey 👋 thanks Stephanie.
I think you missed where I said I struggled more cognitively and couldn’t go to school or college full time for 15 years or work full time - which is more than half my life now since I was 14. Then became bedbound after covid and lost everything. Remember this is an hour interview of summarising 17 years. Emphasising the last two years and all the trauma that’s happened.
      Please don’t dismiss my journey.
I’m sure you’ve done all you can for your child, my mum did the same.
But it took me time to understand what was happening and what to do and I still not fully recovered and make mistakes. I’m certain within time and the amount of people recovering, programs and help out there. They will make it to. There is other peoples recovery interviews on here who has been sick for 50+ years if this interview didn’t resonate, where mine is more focused on trauma.

@@HannahByerley I will watch the rest - as soon as I hear people got sick during covid, I often don't listen because it makes me feel more scared that everyone who recovers is just recovering from long covid. I'm not meaning to dismiss anything which is meaningful to many, but I find so many interviews are not relevant to people like me. Thank you for your comment though - I shall have another listen.

@@stephaniew4168Everyone’s trigger is different, but it all comes from the same issue, the nervous system. The nervous system is just trying to protect the body from perceived danger so it sends symptoms to keep you “safe”. Doesn’t matter how long you’ve had it, or what triggered it, everyone can recover. Follow the principals of Miguels program to get out of this illness.
