Anyone who wants to cheese trial 24, use more meter than possible (your meter regens mid combo) by crumpling with a level 2 focus after the first EX Gadoken. Got it in less than 10 tries this way.
@Tlawrence006 With Trial 18, you gotta do his Dankukyaku RIGHT after the EX Cancel. Like RIGHT after it, and make sure to do it in the middle of the stage, I always found that easiest. Just land his Koryuken, EX Cancel, dash forward, and quickly input his Dankukyaku, and you're good. The first hit never lands, only the second and third, so be quick.
@Sablicious what I meant was that if a projecitla with 8 hits absorbs a projectile with 5 hits, it has 3 hits left. It makes no sense to say "Shinku hadoken absorbs EX hadoken. Why? Because it does." which you would have to do if they all had 1 hit. Super projectiles have always had multiple hits, if you haven't noticed.
@Kunwooyoon I know that, I completed that one as soon as I read what you replied to your comment. It's what you do each time you are given a combo with an EX Focus Attack, which is common knowledge.
@kensanity The stick he's using is just the new super street fighter 4 madcats TE stick. It looks different than the other TE sticks but it has the same parts as the regular TE sticks.
@GodxPanda It's simply a taunt, but it can be used for other purposes to agitate the opponent, for example doing a gadoken xx Legendary Taunt xx Ultra 1 or 2. This works because the Legendary Taunt freezes time.
For anyone stuck on trial 23 like I was, to get the airborne dankukyaku you have to do something similar to cammy's trial 22, when you input it he'll jump in the air and there is a certain point to which you can input the kicks. I used a dual shock as well.
@shouryuuken100 same here mate, i think there is a short cut to doing such moves, like cammys air drill kick close to the ground. cant remember how to do it though. im sure its in the guide. i think they call them tiger knee moves, because of the notation of sagats old tiger knee in SF II
If anyone is having trouble with #24, an easier way of doing it, it's to take advantage of the super refill. That's how I did it: j.Hp > Mp+Ex Gadoken > EX Focus Attack lvl 2* (dash) > Mp+Ex Gadoken > EX FADC > Mp+H.Dankukyaku (dash while foe is stunt)* if you time it correctly, it will give extra time which works in your favor since the super meter will have three extra bars to complete the following sequence. Good luck
np. took me a while. spacing is key, but also when you hit them with the ex tatsu. sometimes you get 1 hit, sometimes 3, sometimes you juggle them high, others not. When i did it yesterday, i found i had enough time to workout if they had been juggled enough, and you have time to pop the ultra.
@Kunwooyoon No, I know that thing. I've done it to make a couple of challenges easier before. It's just that I didn't know at first that the EX Focus Attack gave you time you to regain your Super bar. Thanks, anyway.
@artifacts47 My brother, I know exactly what you're talking about. After minutes of frustration, I finally landed it. The trick is to practice to dash right after the focus and then do the ex dankyaku in the ar. Easier said than done but practice that, and you''ll be straight
Tip for #23 I like to use the D-pad because of the accuracy, but it's horrible to use here. I used the D-pad and paused after the focus cancel and used the joystick for the (jump+)airborne dankukyaku then paused again to use the D-pad for the haoh gadoken. I got it after a couple of tries with this.
playing on pad, what worked for me for 23 was to input 6321478 during the dash (after the fadc, just do a 540° from forward to up), timed so that up comes out right after the dash (you actually have to do the motion pretty slowly). then just press kk with a slight delay. (just try the dash > 6321478 kk > ultra first, and when you have it down do the full combo)
@ToomsEugene No, you do not need 7 bars. You simply need 2 extra to do the Focus attack after the ex gadoken, considering it is not required in this trial. These 2 extra bars refill quickly enough for you to do this "cheat." It worked for me, that's all I'm saying. But if you'd rather do it the way it says to do it, than you're timing is better than mine, hah.
@directorzwannabe Keyboard has input delay so perfect combos are hard plus the buttons are small furthermore, it's harder to make circular motions so some moves like piledrivers are impractical to execute. If you think you can do better, upload a video of Dan's trials with keyboard.
@Anfmethodjor PS: Don't tell Capcom, there are sadistic enough bastards as it is Also, for #23 the aiborne dankukyaku, after FADC, the input is: uf,QCB+kk, a la quick EX aerial hurricane kick with Ken. Good luck
@hackstermatrix thats why i got a 150 dollar keyboard, at first i use it for 1st person shooter, but its good for fighting game too. and the 360 you ask, a,s,d,w that or d,s,a,w a 270 motion, it work, but even i have trouble pulling off that in needed situition. im also pretty good with stick, but in controvesel, i hate the big button and weird layout, with keyboard i could assign, six attack button, 2 all 3 attack button, throw and focus. i don;t know how to capture footage and upload
i suggest no jump ins. at a certain distance you can sweep blanka while he spams electricity. just started this game again. maybe you can get a counter hit from focus attacking him. not sure about it.
@VesperArcade thats something im getting used to, street fighter is the first game to have that for me. do you or does anyone know of a good sight/tutorial that gives tips for this and other advanced street fighter strategies?
HOW do you do this stuff man?!!! I've heard of plinking, but what's pianoing? Who's the easiest character to do trials with? Or at least good for novices? Too many questions? Do I sound like Rufus?
When you do combos it is not like Killer Instinct in which you can just do all the combos at one time and then have them play out slowly, the combos have to actually hit before you can place in the directions for the next move, is that correct?
@uberownageman Instead of linking them (which requires strict timing) I cheated by doing a focus attack after the ex gadoken, then went in and finished it with a standing medium, ex gadoken, focus cancel...etc. However, it's using too much meter, but since it refills so quickly, it works, hah.
Oh, and arcade stick... of course. Anyone know a video where someone gets these done without one of those things, or did Capcom make the games so that you need to buy their things for it to work?
anyone got a tip on the punching combo part of the video because im trying to learn how to play this game and I just have a big problem timing them on trial...
@Sablicious I love how you apparently hate Capcom so much, but you take the time out to reply to every one of these videos. Who, exactly, is your target audience? Because you're not swaying any fans of the series by berating them constantly. Go take your hate elsewhere and let everyone get back to enjoying the game and the videos featuring it. It's much better for everyone that way.
Hey thats new you can get HK dankicks after DP FADC, before it was only possible with AA DP. Hmmm combo 23 and 24 are pretty damn flashy and decent damage too! Too bad he's still gonna get zoned like crazy...
I need some help on trial #24 i cant seem to get the timing right on the medium punch after the first ex Gadoken, (Im just mashing the M punch button, get it every now and then) any tips?

Is it possible to do on a dual shock? Or just in arcade stick?
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Dan may be a "joke" character (and a hilarious one at that), but in the hands of a capable player, he has plenty of tools to mess with your opponent and be a viable choice. I've enjoyed using him since MvSF. Also, it's good to know I'll still be switching Dan's voice to Japanese for SSFIV. His English voice actor should have been fired...out of a cannon.
@Vesperarcade gd job bro, you completed all your trials in one try unlike other people who took 9mins lol. Also your tutorials are very detailed. 5/5 for your effort :)
The only difficult things were the timing of the link between his super (Legendary Taunt) and his ultras (Haoh Gadoken, Shisso Buraiken) in trials #15 and #16. Airborne Dankyukaku in #23 was surprisingly easy for me but I already completed Ken's trials so maybe because of the airborne Tatsumakus. #24 also was not easy but doable with a little patience. Dan's finished :).
Tip for Trial number 24: Between the first EX Gadoken and 2nd M punch, do a EX Focus attack And besides doing the EX Focus Cancel, do an EX Focus Attack You may not be able to do this in a real online match, but it's easier
@Kunwooyoon You sir, deserve to get taunted with the Personal Action number 5. I'm in debt with you. I tried FADCing it, but the time wasn't enough for me to recover the Super bar, whilst the complete hit of the EX Focus Attack gave me that window.
@Porkincarnate actually, we don't know that because he cuts the video in between trials. I highly doubt ANYONE was able to finish ANY character's 24 trials in a row without error. Don't be naive, dude, lol.
For the goofy character they sure do give him the most impressive move set.
Kinda like giving Mikey the nunchuks. :)
Anyone who wants to cheese trial 24, use more meter than possible (your meter regens mid combo) by crumpling with a level 2 focus after the first EX Gadoken. Got it in less than 10 tries this way.
Good tip bro! I did it!
Thank you. I did level 2 Focus Attack after the second EX Gadoken too. Much easier to connect M Punch -> H Dankukyaku. Nice. Got all Dan trials. xD
Thanks :)
Best tuts for trials I've ever seen, and that's because they show the hands. Thanks guys, cheers. Keep up the good work!
@strawwberryred Yup. Both supers are from Ryo and Robert and a plays on the Kyokugen Dougi style super move and haoh sho kouken directly.
@genomyoshida Yes exactly, all combo's are done in real-time
Stang here. My favorite combo is definitely #19. its not the hardest to do. but it looks soooooo cool. :)
@Tlawrence006 With Trial 18, you gotta do his Dankukyaku RIGHT after the EX Cancel. Like RIGHT after it, and make sure to do it in the middle of the stage, I always found that easiest. "I hate the Art of Fighting, but I wanna be the King of Fighters." once said Dan Hibiki. HAOH GADOUKEN= HAOH SHO KOUKEN!
For those trying to do it on pad for trial 23. I use the stick to the jump motion while I had the ex hurrican kick motion on the d-pad. :) gl :)
Those who are having trouble in street fighter volt (akuma 8th trail) try to use focus attack with out dashing
@Kunwooyoon I know that, I completed that one as soon as I read what you replied to your comment. It's what you do each time you are given a combo with an EX Focus Attack, which is common knowledge.
Did all the trials easily...apart from number 18 for some reason. Can't seem to connect that Dankukyaku from the Shoryuken cancel at all.
@kensanity The stick he's using is just the new super street fighter 4 madcats TE stick. It looks different than the other TE sticks but it has the same parts as the regular TE sticks.
@Anfmethodjor yeah, the normal one, cause it only works jumping forward, but the ex works much easier with up-back. one fluid motion
@GodxPanda It's simply a taunt, but it can be used for other purposes to agitate the opponent, for example doing a gadoken xx Legendary Taunt xx Ultra 1 or 2. This works because the Legendary Taunt freezes time.
@ThePsychoCrusher89 He doesn't have the one where you juggle them as they jump in with a light Shoryuken then catch with Ultra. They took it out.
For anyone stuck on trial 23 like I was, to get the airborne dankukyaku you have to do something similar to cammy's trial 22, when you input it he'll jump in the air and there is a certain point to which you can input the kicks. I used a dual shock as well.

@Anfmethodjor actually, i did the air dan kicks like this: qcb, end it up-back then kk. just like cammy's instant ex cannon strike
Dan finally gets a taste of power from all these trials LOL
Good advice chief. Just managed to nail trial 23 here and 24 for Ken. Much obliged!!! :-)
Any secrets that should be known on the last three trials? The timing's a little tricky
If anyone is having trouble with #24, an easier way of doing it, it's to take advantage of the super refill.
That's how I did it:
j.Hp > Mp+Ex Gadoken > EX Focus Attack lvl 2* (dash) > Mp+Ex Gadoken > EX FADC > Mp+H.Dankukyaku
(dash while foe is stunt)* if you time it correctly, it will give extra time which works in your favor since the super meter will have three extra bars to complete the following sequence.
Good luck
@Xaverion1 dan was actualy meant as a parody of ryo, since they (SNK) kind of parodied ryu's name and design with ryo
np. took me a while. spacing is key, but also when you hit them with the ex tatsu. sometimes you get 1 hit, sometimes 3, sometimes you juggle them high, others not. When i did it yesterday, i found i had enough time to workout if they had been juggled enough, and you have time to pop the ultra.

Damn, Dan actually does some damage!
to master saikyo is to master life itself
@trueharm Robert Miles - Fable (probably a techno version)
@hackstermatrix thats why i got a 150 dollar keyboard, at first i use it for 1st person shooter, but its good for fighting game too. and the 360 you ask, a,s,d,w that or d,s,a,w a 270 motion, it work, but even i have trouble pulling off that in needed situition. im also pretty good with stick, but in controvesel, i hate the big button and weird layout, with keyboard i could assign, six attack button, 2 all 3 attack button, throw and focus. i don;t know how to capture footage and upload
@neaiancu it's interesting 'cause I actually do Cammy's instant air CS like this, QCB,uf+k
So basically they stripped ryu of his light shoryuken to ultra and gave it to Dan? Capcom confused me sometimes.
i suggest no jump ins. at a certain distance you can sweep blanka while he spams electricity. just started this game again. maybe you can get a counter hit from focus attacking him. not sure about it.
@VesperArcade thats something im getting used to, street fighter is the first game to have that for me. do you or does anyone know of a good sight/tutorial that gives tips for this and other advanced street fighter strategies?
@Sablicious If it was one hit, it would be engated by a normal projectile, so that's no good.
HOW do you do this stuff man?!!! I've heard of plinking, but what's pianoing? Who's the easiest character to do trials with? Or at least good for novices? Too many questions? Do I sound like Rufus?
For 23 press up after the dash and immediately do a qcf back kkk. So it seems like one motion from ^vkkk then ultra
How does trial 18 work? I can't seem to get dankukyaku to land.
How the Hell do you do a EX Focus Cancel on 3DS? ._.
You just don't, lol
First time that i see a gadouken travelling so far...
When you do combos it is not like Killer Instinct in which you can just do all the combos at one time and then have them play out slowly, the combos have to actually hit before you can place in the directions for the next move, is that correct?
Wow... level 23.... very impressive mate!
I can't seem to get the FADC -> jump -> tatsumaki quickly enough :(
You plinking the medium punches on #24? If not, how long did that take? Like 30 minutes for that 1 combo?
@shadowpepe It dosen't tell you to do an EX Focus Attack, im just making it easier to do
Can anyone tell me what dans ko yell (with his Japanese voice) means?
Dan!! You've made your father proud!!
@uberownageman Instead of linking them (which requires strict timing) I cheated by doing a focus attack after the ex gadoken, then went in and finished it with a standing medium, ex gadoken, focus cancel...etc. However, it's using too much meter, but since it refills so quickly, it works, hah.
Affter 1st hit of koryuken you press mid punch+mid kick and then dash back or forward.
@Sablicious nope. I'm not stupid.
How do you execute the airborne Dankukyaku? Having the same problem with Ken's trial
Oh, and arcade stick... of course. Anyone know a video where someone gets these done without one of those things, or did Capcom make the games so that you need to buy their things for it to work?
i need a quick reply , does airborne dankukyaku works using uppercut motion?
anyone got a tip on the punching combo part of the video because im trying to learn how to play this game and I just have a big problem timing them on trial...
@Sablicious
I love how you apparently hate Capcom so much, but you take the time out to reply to every one of these videos.

You know how to do an EX Focus Attack? D:

2:03 damn,that hand movement
on trial 14 which koryuken did you do in order to cancel it to the ultra?
@Anfmethodjor
Yea, this worked out great! thanks
on level 21, do you think its possible to fit a haoh gadoken at the end of that combo?
@Sablicious No. One projectile hit = one projectile hit, any other system is just stupid.
@Sablicious There's no such thing in SFIV.
I've been stuck on 18 for the longest! How do you connect his Dankukyaku after fadc!!! Please I need help for its the last one I need for Dan
Did em all now have the glorious saikyo flag yes!!!
im so proud of myself
@Larotas3 taunt = HP+HK(press together)
did dan do a backwards koryuken at the end of lv 3?
@Vesperarcade gd job bro, you completed all your trials in one try unlike other people who took 9mins lol. Also your tutorials are very detailed. 5/5 for your effort :)
Only a few of the many ways Dan can kick your ass.
Trial 19 looks dopeskiezzz, gotta go land it in a online match now! >.
@Xaverion1 he is a parody of a few king of fighters chars mixed into one... old history
His last one is extremely fun and easy to do. After each EX Gadoken do a Lv.2 Focus attack. Simplifies the whole thing.
Hey, Dan! Stop hitting yourself! Stop hitting yourself. Stop hitting yourself
Hey whats the point of EX Focus cancelling? All u do is add another punch or kick button, it doesnt do anything?
The only difficult things were the timing of the link between his super (Legendary Taunt) and his ultras (Haoh Gadoken, Shisso Buraiken) in trials #15 and #16. how do i do the koryuken in trial 17 without doing the super?
lol trial 24 is quite easy comparing to 23
It's finaly time for Dan to kick some ass.
What is the song durring the intro?!
0:22 and that's how ken learned Shinryuken.Or maybe Dan was Kent's master because they sound the same but dan has d ken has k.Or ken is the master..
Im the overall best out of my clan but one guy anytime he chooses blanka i cannot beat him how to counter electric spam?
Somebody have any advice for 18.
cheers chap. will head back to the 'lab' and keep at it
how do you do trial 14 its driving me nuts
what kind of gate does your stick have sir
The first Ultra Combo reminds me to fight like Batman and Black Dynamite
@Kunwooyoon You sir, deserve to get taunted with the Personal Action number 5. I'm in debt with you.
I tried FADCing it, but the time wasn't enough for me to recover the Super bar, whilst the complete hit of the EX Focus Attack gave me that window.
Number 14 keeps bugging me, he keeps doing his super instead of koryuken -.-
I cant do the ex focus cancel thing >.< help. I still play with notmal ps3 controller
@Porkincarnate actually, we don't know that because he cuts the video in between trials. I highly doubt ANYONE was able to finish ANY character's 24 trials in a row without error. Don't be naive, dude, lol.
