Oh thank you so much Rach and Wills, this means everything to us. We were proper nervous arriving as hadn’t spoken in person to a stranger throughout covid but once my confidence got up there wasn’t enough goths on the planet for me to chat to and get photos of. Quite an emotional day. Loved talking to every one of them but the guy with the hand gun never got out of character and the gun was concealed until he tried to shoot me with it, those pants needed changing soon after! 😵💫 Its an awesome place to visit and not a million miles away from you guys, unlike, cough, Amsterdam and Barcelona. There is a huge Goth festival four day event at the end of October this year that puts the April one to shame. It’s definitely worth a visit especially with your incredibly professional take on things. Have an awesome weekend and thanks for your support ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Loved it. So much to see on this one Loved the walk in, that viaduct is absolutely jaw dropping. Just brilliant engineering And the Goths in Whitby look stunning don’t they. So much beautiful detail and work has gone into their gear. The guy with the crossbow was my favourite. But they were all brilliant. And apart from the cows I thought that was a wonderful watch 😃😃😃. Thanks Dave, its a lovely little walk, just a short mile by the side of the river and steam train line which also gets you free parking? definitely a win in our book! the detail on that steam punk crossbow was incredible, must have been worth a small fortune! i suppose the cows were on the right side of the fence on this occasion, you should have seen them scarper when the steam train passed, never seen a herd move so fast, bless them. hope your having an awesome weekend! We love it there, so many beautiful and creative people, its in our normal format, but chatting to and meeting strangers, IN PERSON, has become well out of my comfort zone since the pandemic made us all so standoffish. Lets see if i can overcome the two year curse and meet lots of strangers to make a slightly different hiking video.. ♥️
Friendly cows....😳. Funny, despite Whitby only being about 50 minutes away from us you always managed to show me somewhere new, mind you that seemed a canny walk in for a free park but then again, why not. The Goth festival always looks so colourful and one year we will go and see it, as long as we do not meet any cows on the way in. Very enjoyable watch, as always and some great photos taken, which really captured the who feel of the festival, cheers Alan
Ah thanks Alan! Yes its a lovely little walk in from Ruswarp. Heaps of free parking there and free spotless public conveniences to boot! Its about a mile riverside well signposted walk into the heart of Whitby, with the steam railway running alongside its a walk for everyone to enjoy. Ive enjoyed this stretch with people of all ages, well into their late 80s, flat, memorable and lovely. You can return by the same route or make it slightly more interesting by doing a country circular. The next Goth Festival is a four day event at the end of October which puts shame to this one. Well worth a visit. Your holiday looks awesome on Insta! Good times! About 50 minutes from us too but worth every minute each way! Have an awesome weekend! ♥️

This was wonderful to see the people dressed up for the goth festival. What a great place to have it in the lovely town full of character itself! I was a young teen in the 80’s…a huge fan of both the cure and joy division to name a few. Too bad you didn’t dress up, that would have been fun to see. I loved your adventure guys! Thank you!👍😊🇨🇦

I was so taken aback from talking in person to strangers again for the first time in two years that I almost forgot it. Quite the emotional day, really enjoyed it. As i swept back my emotions I suddenly remembered Alf and got a sneaky last minute swoop in. Thanks to all the beautiful, friendly goths on that day that brought a heavy dose of reality back to the last nightmarish two years but most of all thanks to Alf who knows how to cease the day and capture the moment with such a trend setting move. The main one runs for four days at the end of October and is highly recommended. Yes the Magpie is a wonderful place for fish and chips. The whole day was quite emotional for me, i havent talked to a stranger in person for over two years, when I finally plucked up courage I was addicted, had there been more Goths I would have spoke to each and every one. Kind of underlines a horrible two years. See you very soon on yours. Will their be red squirrels, latrigg is one place i nearly always see them! 🤔

Oh that steam punk crossbow!! Love it. Somebody was the cow whisperer. Wow a pristine train with no graffiti. Loved the tour and seeing all the goth and steampunk lovers. Surprisingly there were a lot more older people than I see normally. Goth tends to be a young person "trend" if you will here in the states. I'm heading to Salem, Ma in 3 weeks and I expect to see our share of goth, steampunk and more. Thanks for sharing, well done!

Brilliant 😂😂 I had a wide grin the entire way through the video 😁 although it was turning to a ☹️as you were really struggling to find any Goths in the town 🤦♂️😂😂 Apart from that, the viaduct was amazing but the steam train was the absolute icing on the cake. Big like from me as usual 👍♥️

Mostly with a Panasonic Lumix and Sony Cybershot. They are both really good still photo cameras but both have serious deficiencies when filming. Neither one can wet or they will break and the Cybershot only films up to 30fps which isn’t ideal. Cant wait to join the ranks of the Go Pro 10s! And finally get a mic too! Could be a game changer! ♥️

I loved the first song, can I ask what was it? So beautiful, one of those that you can almost feel in your bones! I’m glad you guys didn’t give up on the twirly moves because that’s signature by now. I loved the goth clothes and the festival seemed very cool but I loved the town, small houses, and I was absolutely sold on the stunning view down at the harbour. Amazing shot there! I was so taken aback from talking in person to strangers again for the first time in two years that I almost forgot it. Quite the emotional day, really enjoyed it. As i swept back my emotions I suddenly remembered Alf and got a sneaky last minute swoop in. Thanks to all the beautiful, friendly goths on that day that brought a heavy dose of reality back to the last nightmarish two years but most of all thanks to Alf who knows how to cease the day and capture the moment with such a trend setting move. Thanks Alistair, dying to see your Latrigg video, its going on the big telly as soon as we have a spare minute. The Goth festival is an amazing place to be. The main one runs for four days at the end of October and is highly recommended. Yes the Magpie is a wonderful place for fish and chips. The whole day was quite emotional for me, i havent talked to a stranger in person for over two years, when I finally plucked up courage I was addicted, had there been more Goths I would have spoke to each and every one. Kind of underlines a horrible two years. See you very soon on yours. Will their be red squirrels, latrigg is one place i nearly always see them! 🤔

Thanks Dee and really loved having your support at the premiere, means the world to us. We did used to go dressed up, but each year the level of detail and accessories goes up about ten levels. We just couldn’t compete now! They do look incredible. Next festival there is at the end of October. It should be a belter!

Growing up in the 80s at the start of goth i believed the same thing too, that it was a love of the Victorian Age, the styles and fashions that influenced the goth movement. Oh that steam punk crossbow!! Love it. Somebody was the cow whisperer. Wow a pristine train with no graffiti. Loved the tour and seeing all the goth and steampunk lovers. Surprisingly there were a lot more older people than I see normally. Goth tends to be a young person "trend" if you will here in the states. I'm heading to Salem, Ma in 3 weeks and I expect to see our share of goth, steampunk and more. Thanks for sharing, well done!
wow, i cant wait to see your visit to Salem, that will be absolutely epic! yes i remember growing up in the 80s goth was very fashionable and really drew its inspiration from the bands of the day. i dont recall it ever winning over older people and what we are seeing now is its almost universal appeal, beyond even that of those that grew up in that era. noticing a lot of goth festivals cropping up in the States now! i bet they are amazing! hope your having an awesome week! ♥️🇺🇸

Thank you Rachel, they seem to get better and better each year. Their costumes are so intricate now. In my day, a black shirt and black eye liner would make you a goth. Now you need a few thousand pounds worth of accessories! 😱

Mostly with a Panasonic Lumix and Sony Cybershot. They are both really good still photo cameras but both have serious deficiencies when filming. Neither one can wet or they will break and the Cybershot only films up to 30fps which isn’t ideal. Cant wait to join the ranks of the Go Pro 10s! And finally get a mic too! Could be a game changer! ♥️

I’m glad you guys didn’t give up on the twirly moves because that’s signature by now. I loved the goth clothes and the festival seemed very cool but I loved the town, small houses, and I was absolutely sold on the stunning view down at the harbour. Amazing shot there!
