Stunning view over the water at the beginning of the video. It does look like, that the dogs are having a great time on the beach. There are plenty of open space for the dogs to run around. Amazing walking tour, I enjoyed watching it.

As many commentators to this column have pointed out, the problems that bedevil Hull are national and global. By its very nature, modern turbo-capitalism has created new spaces and re-ordered the older environments, some of which become little more than 'museum sites', others face becoming undesirable urban enclosures with large populations facing very uncertain futures. Hull appears to have reached a tipping point and is firmly in the latter group. I grew up in Hull, having been born there in 1948. I've not lived there for many years but return periodically, usually for funerals. There are many indulgent myths about Hull in the 1950's and 60's and the problems highlighted today were present then but manifested themselves in different ways. Perhaps we need an .'Assisted Urban Resettlement' programme. With inevitable sea-level rise and flooding and with poor economic and social prospects, what is the point of keeping Hull going?

The beach walk was great and there was quite a few people enjoying the nice weather which is good to see. Great information about the historical traditions of the place. Hi Nick and Jill hope you have had a great Christmas. We always enjoy a walk on Boxing day you always need one after Christmas. It must be lovely to be able to walk around Scarborough such a beautiful place for a walk. Interesting that it is the busiest day outside the summer season. Love the idea of the mile of pennies. Must be great for local businesses 🙄. The rafts looked fun although wouldn't fancy being pelted by eggs though 😆 A big 👍 for a great video really enjoyed seeing everyone enjoying what Scarborough had to offer. Thank you for putting together one of the better videos of this type you gave a very fair representation and didn't go speaking to the beggers on the streets half of which arnt originally from the town saying the would work but there's no jobs the is work if your prepared to get off your butt....the government needs to put some money into the town, maybe put some more renewable energy contracts our way 🤔

I was there but the weather got horrible because of storm darah i had to walk in it sadly i actaully slipped but it was very fun to attend it.

Completely looking for the negative. Hull has some down bits, but overall, talking as someone who moved up here a few years back, it has a lot to offer. This video is out looking for the worst including filming when the shops are shut.

This video had everything I’d want in a day out! stunning views, interesting history, and practical tips great job Nick and Jilly! The reminder to check the tide times👍, especially with those slippery rocks and sea-sprayed paths. The WWII pillboxes were an unexpected highlight, it’s amazing how much history is tucked along the walk. Jilly’s Tetris block observation 😁😁. The winter coastal vibe was so peaceful, and it’s great to see how you made the most of the quiet season. Thanks for sharing guys and have a wonder Christmas holiday!

Beautiful walk, the beginning through the gardens was really lovely. A sunny, calm day in winter is perfect for going on a hike, here in Australia we hike mainly in winter. Not because of the summer heat (although that can be a factor) but because snakes hibernate during winter, you're more likely to come across one in summer!

Ahhh I love the seaside in winter ... well when it's dry and sunny 😎🤣 What a fabulous day you got ... so good to take a break from the hub bub of Christmas and escape to a deserted beach. Nothing better than a bracing hike with the waves crashing at your feet, well almost, & you certainly had your best foot forward for this one. Wow that drone shot ,looking down on to the waves/beach ... I couldn't work it out at first 🤔🤣but it's brilliant. I feel so sorry for the people losing their properties into the sea. It seems to be a problem on the East coast... I know of similar issues in Norfolk 😔 Stunning views from the cliff top, oh & I forgot to say nice gardens at the start.perfect picnic spots on a warmer day.
