I have a collection of oracle and tarot decks and realize, I need to spend time with each of these decks before purchasing more, although there are a few more decks I do want to get ASAP. :) But, it's the same with crystals, essential oils, etc - I just want to be careful I don't become 'spiritually materialistic' and spend more time going deep and intuitive, rather than just collecting. . . and collecting. Thank you for your insight, I quite agree.
YES! Spiritually materialistic- I like that. 2020 was rough - I bought so many decks in so little time without sitting with each one before buying more, and it pretty much spiraled out of control. Thankfully, I’ve been able to rehome most of them 🥰 thanks for watching and commenting 💚
I started my humble tarot beginnings back in 2020 and it’s so nice to be able to sit back and relate to all of this because I definitely went through that phase HARD! Cards, books, spiritual tools, you name it, I spent so much money!! 😂
I’m glad this was relatable! My experience, even though I wish I knew these things before, I don’t regret all of it. It’s all about the experience AND the joy tarot tingz bring ☺️thanks for watching 💚
This was such an interesting question! I'm an Aries. What I love about Tarot is that I just keep finding something new to study and chase. There is always something glittering and calling me down the rabbit hole and I LOVE IT!
Hi Jason, it was great to see your video and you brought up some things that I hadn’t thought of yet in my journey. The one thing that stood out though was discovering tarot tube sometime in 2020 and I became instantly obsessed with it. That started me on a journey to buy every deck that I thought was popular and/or looked cool. I’d never studied tarot before or knew anything at all about it while buying these decks. It literally started calling out to me and I started studying on a daily basis (that’ll never stop, lol) Now that I understand tarot much better, I’ve got all these decks that would never work for me. I wish I’d have waited and studied before going apeshit crazy, buying decks 🤣🤣. I’m in the process of sorting through them so they can find their forever homes. Thank you for another great video, I enjoy them a lot and hopefully will have mine up and running soon. 🤗♊️💯
2020 was ROUGH on my wallet when it came to decks. Boredom got the best of me and I wanted every pretty deck I saw. I’ve paid the consequences for it 🤣 every one’s tarot journey is different but it seems like you and i’s are very similar! I wish I followed my needs rather than my wants when it came to buying 💚 thanks for watching and sharing your story! Hope all is well
Another great video! I think in the summer once I am done reviewing all the decks I have left to do, I'll also make a video about this topic! The "Tarot bug" truly exists and am SO guilty for that in 2020. I won't even say how many decks I purchased in one month due to shame and embarrassment. Great video, and thank you! 🌟🌟🌟
The Tarot bug hit me hard when I first started too, and I basically bought the whole collection I have now within six months🤦🏼♀️😂 and although I do love each and every one of my decks, I definitely didn’t need to buy them all..that’s for sure one of the big ones I wish I had known before starting my tarot journey! This was a great video, Jason! Thank you so much for sharing!🤗💗
I've seen mass market decks here in California that have easily been $30-40. If I'm lucky now I'll ffibd one for $28 and this is without taxes. I defenitely agree. Though I had to buy a second tarot book, because mine was working with specifuc aspects of the tarot. Ithink a good tip is to shuffle and eeprder the cards. I felt like I got so much more from that. I cpuld see mire about the story behind the cadds and how one goes in to the other mych better than just reading a book. I knew mt secjs well. It was interesti g to see how differenr tajes on the tarot sometines demanded slughtly sifferwbt irdering of the major and minor arcana. Totally agree about the spreads. They ro give you useaa of hiw to ceeare your iwn custom readubg for youesekf.
Decks are getting expensive these days, even if the quality is pretty low. I can’t imagine the prices in California compared to others in different states. I’ve always been appreciative of mass market decks because they’re more reasonable than indie decks, but some MM decks are pretty pricey. Thanks for sharing and watching 💚💚
Also it is important like with any activity there can be Tarot slumps. Times when you just don't use the cards or they don't make sense anymore. Getting away for a bit and then coming back to them it completely normal. It happens for me every couple of years. No one should take it personally. Also in the same way burnout can be a thing too if we get to immersed for too long.
Let’s not even talk about buying decks during quarantine. YIKES!! Lol. I’d also say I wish I knew beforehand how to protect myself from tarot burnout. I’m at the stage right now, where I don’t have the desire to pick up any of my decks.

I’ve been bitten by the tarot bug, oracle decks, and divination decks. 🤦🏼♀️
The bug is a pain! I recently bought more decks 😞 thanks for watching 💚
Yes! You only need one deck to be a great reader!💜
There’s only one grande dame 💚 thanks for watching

Tarot is never ending, right? I still learn so much about the cards, especially those darn court cards! Thanks for watching :)

2020 was ROUGH! Both mentally and for my wallet. I have had some spots of tarot burnout. It is definitely a real thing 💚
I wish I had known that free printable decks are as good as bought decks.
OHHHHH that is a good one! I’ve seen some really good printable decks! Thanks for sharing and watching 💚
@@TarotbythePines Thank _you_ for all good videos you produce. 🤩
Have spent over $60 … and on a used deck!
Oh my goodness! I’ve never seen something like that. I hope you enjoy the deck. 💚
Remember many years ago when someone told me that tarot can be addictive 😮
Soooooooooo addictive! The tarot bug is real 🤣💚
Oracle I can buy 1 or 2 here or there those can be my weakness
There are oracle decks that are GORGEOUS but I struggle to really use them. I only have a few oracle decks. I should do a video on those
I'm a book buyer so that maybe a problem lol
I love the smell of books 🤤
