The reason why Japan’s school uniforms tend to be dark is because you can use the uniforms for a formal occasions like weddings and funerals.

저는 한국인인데 쇼와시대랄까? 하여간 수십년 전의 일본 남학생들이 입던 가쿠란? 이라는 이름의 겉옷이 너무너무 멋지다고 생각합니다. 한국인들도 일제시대에 입었던 옷이죠. (한국 일제시대 드라마에서 보면 경성 제국 대학 등에서 나옵니다.)
군복은 나치독일 군복이 지구상 가장 멋지고, 교복은 일본 옛날 교복이 가장 멋지더군요. 갑옷은 서양중세가 멋지고 투구는 일본 사무라이가 제일 멋지죠.

It's crazy seeing the kinds of highschool uniforms, the Japanese one is most simular to the ones we wear here in NZ. The highschool I go to is the exact same as the Japan one, except we don't have a tie anymore, it's an all girls school, and instead of monotone colours we wear dark blue and red.
In Korea, when you enter university, you go to school on April Fool's Day, April 1st, wearing the school uniform you wore in high school. So, you have to keep your uniform well^^
Both has own style and beauty!!! But I found Japanese uniform the black one is more timeless, classy, givin hogwarts British vibe kinda look smart, formal, and relevant to all occasions!!! The other Japanese uniform I like is the Sailor Moon navy blue and white. So cute 🥰 🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵✨✨✨✨✨

Not gonna lie, if we here in the states had to wear suit and tie, I wouldn't mind that as long as it's comfortable and breathable enough.
I've some friends who went to a private school here in NY and when they went there they had uniforms they would wear that had the school emblem on them.
Edit: For the girls they wear blue jackets with matching blue striped ties and usually could choose between either dark pants (like what the guys would wear) or just simple skirts.

Went to a all girls school, uniform was a woollen kilt, white blouse short or long sleeved then a woollen jersey or blazer if you wore the blazer you had to wear a tie so almost none of us wore it.
Blazer had school logo in it, jersey was optional logo wise.
Black leather school shoes with white ankle socks or navy tights in winter, then roman style sandles in summer

Had a uniform in the US back in the 2010s and our skirt was typically as short as the Korean one but had the flow and pleats of the Japanese one.
Since we were in CA, we had cardigans and similar pullovers as the Japanese rather than blazers because of the heatwaves.

다들 그렇지만 학생때는 모르는데 학생은 학생 다울때 가장 이쁨 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 저도 학생때는 어떻게든 꾸미고 싶어서 교복 줄이고 통 줄이고 했지만 자연스럽게 오버핏같은 일본 교복이 더 이쁘네요 치마 자체가 길어도 라인이 자연스러워서 핏이 이쁨 한국 교복은 특히 여학생 교복이 불편하게 타이트하게 나와서 아예 짧게 줄이고 붙여 입는듯 한국 교복은 이쁘지도 자연스럽게 편해보이지도 않네요 한국 학생이 일본 교복 입었을때도 훨씬 편해보이고 이뻐요

I like Japanese uniforms, they give off more of a classy, uniform from private school feeling. Navy blue colour, full sleeved sweaters and long loose skirts fit the students more and look more appropriate. Even Gakuran look very professional and suitable for students.
Korean skirts look very uncomfortable and tight, the pleats make skirts more pretty and are comfortable so I don't know why you would take it out. Our march past uniform skirt was as tight as korean ones and we hated it cuz it's very uncomfortable.

It depends on the school! Some of them allow it, and others don't. A few don't even allow girls to wear tights under the skirt in winter, which is quite a problem.
@@ThePirateHunterI always thought the Japanese uniforms were cuter but they also seem to be a bit more comfortable. Some schools also have higher socks and some allow for lower socks. International and private schools also have their own rules for uniforms and dress code.
보통 입어도 뭐라하지 않지만 굳이 남성 교복 바지를 하나 더 사서 입기 보단 체육복 바지를 입고 다니는 여학생 많은 거 같아요. 체육 전공인 경우 치마 보단 체육복을 더 자주 입고 다니는 경우도 많이 봤어요.

My only reference for both are K-Drama and J-Drama, Korean wear rubber shoes while Japanese wear black leather shoes. I guess that depends on the school.
I'm Korean, and until elementary school, we usually change into indoor shoes made of rubber when we go to school, but in middle and high school, it's different for each school, but we usually wear Adidas slippers or just regular shoes like sneakers. In Japan, although it varies from school to school, many students wear the same type of leather shoes determined by the school. Also, in Japan, bags are decided by the school, so everyone often uses the same bag.
I think it could be argued that some japanese schools just let their students wear whatever shoes they prefer since they're going to change to indoor shoes anyways

its also depends on height body size and figure some women have korean body image some have japanese body image and some have chinese vietnamese thai and so on or american or even british also how your personality and eho bought it for you. and the school like in britian an american all these little details count and matter looking deeper and fuller into it all. plus culture difference and ethnicity president mayors and all. everything counts a d matters.

*Ours are meant* to be loose-fitting, comfortable and modest, but quality materials and classic drape can't overcome the sober colours, the homogeneity, or the slightly rumpled, overworked appearance that seems to be the synergistic effect of a Japanese body in a Japanese-tailored jacket.
*We call that vibe* しぶい, which at once means restrained, sober, tasteful, dull, classic, quiet, colourless, understated, and inoffensive. Guess that fits, in a hand-me-down sort of way.

교복은 일본처럼 학생답게 있는게 보기 좋음. 원래 한국도 일본처럼 교복을 입었는데 현 4050 세대가 학창시절 겪은게 있어서 이것만큼은 학생의 인권을 존중해주자 싶어서 많은 변화를 만들어냈음. 그리고 급식부분도 정말 치열한 논쟁과 대립을 통해 만들어낸 결과물이라는 것만 알아주면 좋겠음. 현 서울시장 오세훈이 무상급식을 포퓰리즘이라며 반대하고 당시 서울 시민과 교육청과 대립할때 시장직까지 걸어가며 투표까지 하게 만들었거든요. 그 과정에서 현 4050 세대가 주도되어 무상급식을 전국에서 처음 서울지역 무상급식을 이끌어냈고 가장 마지막 대구경북이 무상급식이 되면서 전국화된거에요.
그러니 자랑스럽게 생각해도 됩니다. 우리가 학창시절 무상급식이 아니었고 도시락과 급식이 동시 진행되던 시절인데 이 과정에서 선별급식이 아이들 자존심을 긁는 일이 많았어요. 가난함을 증명해야했거든요 ㅡㅡ;;; 그래서 이것만큼은 없애자 싶어 큰 대립이 있었지만 무상급식화 시켰거든요. 세계적으로 많이 없는 사례니까 좋게 봤으면 하네요.

일본 여고생들은 순수하고 귀여운데 한국여고생들은그냥 성인들처럼보이네 네일아트나 화장이 학생다워 보이지 않네
한국 교복은 저기 나온 학생들처럼 입는 애들은 소수고 대부분이 무릎까지 오는 길이로 다니는게 대다수임.
저렇게 입는 애들이 눈에 띄니까 그런거고, 저기 나오는 애들 주변이야 다들 비슷한 애들이니까 저런게 더 많은것처럼 느껴질지 몰라도,
당장 한국에 가장 많은 일반 여고 앞에 가서 보면 당연히 한국도 저런 짧은 치마 길이 거의 없음.
인문계 말고 예전 여상이 이름 바꿔 단 학교들 애들은 저런 애들 많더라.

화장과 갖가지 치장한 한국학생
현재 일본교복은 우리 90년대 고등학교 교복이랑 완전히 똑같음. 넥타이는 지금이랑 같은 방식, 대신 여학생은 리본.
난 서울이라 우리학교 주변에 고등학교가 약 18개 있었는데 거의 다 같았음. 색상은 동복은 거의 어두운색인 네이비, 하복은 하얀색이나 회색. 반팔
우리학교도 남녀공학이였는데,, 여학생 치마도 플래어 치마라고 무릎밑까지 내려오고 주름이 엄청 큰 엄청 이쁜 치마였고,
남녀 모두 조끼는 불가능했고, 저렇게 긴팔로 나왔음. 어느학교나 비슷했음.
역시 교복은 예전 교복이 이뻤고 학생다움, 요즘 교복은 이쁘다는 생각이 하나도 안들고 불편해보임.
그리고 당연히 급식은 없었고, 도시락 2개씩 싸가지고 같음, 한개는 점심 한개는 야자전에 먹는 저녁 도시락.
그리고 마지막에 나온 영상처럼 우리때도 가쿠란 입는 학교에선 졸업할때 좋아하는 여학생에게 두번째 단추 주는게 전통이였음. 세라복 입는 여학교도 있었는데 거기도 그렇게 했음.
고등학생들 급식 무료로 먹기 위해서, 당시 서울시장과 싸워야 했습니다. 근데 그 시장이 다시 당선되어서 지금 시장이야... ㅋ

the two girls on the left are korean and two on the right is japanese. kasumi speaks korean and japanese so she's translating what they're saying in korean to the girl she's seating with.
*This being a Korean programme* most of the dialogue is Korean. Kasumi is bilingual so she translates for Hooka, who apparently speaks less Korean than I do-but I've stanned K-pop probably since she was a toddler. 😂
아침에 출근하다가 교복 입은 학생들 보면 참 멋지고 예뻐 보이더라고요. 역시 어리면 뭘 입어도 예쁘고 멋진 것 같아요.
30대 아저씨라서 예전 교복은 정말 바지 통도 펄렁펄렁하고, 셔츠도 헐렁헐렁하고 재킷도 아버지 양복처럼 어깨뽕 툭 튀어나와 있어서 줄여 입지 않으면 지금 같은 멋을 내기가 쉽지 않았어요.
어르신들이 '학생다움' 이라는 말에 가둬서 교복 줄이고, 변형해서 입는 걸로 뭐라 하시는데 저는 그렇게 보지 않아요. 그것도 개성이니까요.
사실 제 아버지도 어머니도 다 그 때 유행하는 스타일로 교복 고쳐 입으셨거든요 ㅋㅋㅋ 물론 저도 그랬고요.
개성 있게 고쳐 입어도 멋있긴 하겠지만 확실히 요즘 한국 교복은 맞출 때 핏 자체가 신체 라인이 부각되게 나와서 그냥 입어도 멋지고 예뻐서 보여서 부럽네요.

모르는 소리..쟤들은 좀 곱부좀 하는 학교스타일이고요..다수의 일본학생들 교복은 조금만 숙여도 속옷이 보일정도로 치마 무지짧고(치마가 붙지 않고 팔랑거려서 더심함) 머리 파마하고 화장하고 다니는 애들 천지임. .일본에는 일부 명문고를 제외하면 학교측에서 그리 선생들의 타치가 심하지 않아서 한국보다 더심합니다..아..그리고 체육시간에 여학생들 입는 하복 체육복 보면 님 기절초풍하시것네..ㅋㅋㅋ 그냥 빤스임..ㅋㅋㅋ우리나라사람 대부분 그 체육복 보면 어떻게 저런걸 어린 여학생들에게 입히지 할거임 ㅋㅋ

예~전엔 여자애들 치마길이 짧으면 선생님들께 얻어맞아서 수업 마치면 허리부분 안으로 돌돌 말아올리곤 하더라.

90년대에 여중생 교복에서 월남치마라고 유행한적이있긴한데 일본학생치마가 비슷한 느낌이네요
