I have not seen Home & Away for many many years; a fascinating and insightful interview as always. Love how Lynne is so genuine and ‘normall’, no heirs and graces and just lovely and down to earth. As a teacher myself and an actor, teaching is all about acting so I think Lynne would have been a great teacher; the key word is patience and a love for your craft which are both things that Lynne has buckets 🤗
@@TalkingPrisoner I do indeed! I teach English and drama so I get the best of both worlds 😊 I don’t do enough acting for myself though which I am hoping to rectify soon 👍🤗
@@TalkingPrisoner i watched it practically every evening it was on here, then work and commute got in the way, I loved home & away, Irene was always a favourite
Great Interview,Lynne McGranger is one of those people who i could listen to all day long.Lovely lady,Remember when she took over as Irene in Home and Away,Thank you Matt,
Interesting interview. I watched Home and Away for a very short time in the early/mid 90s here in England, but I was mostly a Neighbours fan at that time - like about 20 million other people in the UK. I think they were on at the same time, or almost the same time, so you had to get your VHS video machine working in order to watch both!
Haha 55 will be up this week…I have a backlog of the Talking Prisoner Presents interviews to upload so they will be out of order over the next few weeks 😀
Hello Irene, Who wrote the storyline about your husband Murdoch, aka "mud"? Did the story writer have anything to do with Hey Dad or what was going on with Hey Dad?
The original was terrifying. I remember when Damo and Fin were left alone at the foster house at night and she was creeping around outside waiting to go in and get to them.

I love the old VHS...That was the same here but then Home and away started rating better than Neighbours and Neighbours moved to the 6.30 timeslot
Excellent interview, thanks Matt.

Matt, this interview appears to have been recorded mid-last year. Curious why it took so long to post? Thanks.
No reason…
She's iconic. Love her evolution on H&A

@@TalkingPrisoner its been a while since i watched it - but I used to love it

Hello Irene,
Who wrote the storyline about your husband Murdoch, aka "mud"? Did the story writer have anything to do with Hey Dad or what was going on with Hey Dad?
I love her now, but back then I wasn’t too sure, as Jacquy Philips (the original Irene) was a hard act to follow.
The original was terrifying. I remember when Damo and Fin were left alone at the foster house at night and she was creeping around outside waiting to go in and get to them.
@@ryanwilliams1800 Yes Lynnes Irene was a softer Character than the Original Actress.
@@ryanwilliams1800 Did you enjoy that era of Home and Away ?
Yes i like most of the 80s and 90s H&A but my absolute favourite era was 1995-1996 when Isla Fisher was in it. It was a great era @@TalkingPrisoner
Ailsa!! LOL!! What a horrible experience though. People are awful!
Awe absolutely love Irene but wish home and away would give her a happy ever after, it’s not all young that watches H/A
