Heartless people😭😭 How can they be doing this to their own people. Selling is there main source of income. If you ask them to stop selling the least thing they can do is to provide a place for them. If they think that this is the way to development they most be fooling themselves. Anywhere you go in Africa you will see vendors selling on the streets.

So sorry Mamma Africa.😢 But know that Allah is all knowing and seeing and he is the best of planners. May they find success in another area with their business. Greetings to you. Thank you for sharing. This video saddens my heart. Watching our people trying to make a living the best way that they know how. Having to leave all their goods behind. Mostly all knew that it was pointless to resist. The way how the police had no real respect for the women and elder's. Telling them to board a high vehicle in the back. It's a DISGRACE. How much per person. Has to pay police to be released. Corruption is Real.

@@littleandtallawah2951 what precisely were they arresting her for ? What age is she ? Does she have mobility problems she seemed to be leaning on the chair and sitting down a lot and was then forced to crawl on the hard metal floor in the back of a truck and forced to sit on a mudguard or else dirty all of her clothes by sitting on the hard metal floor of the truck. Does she have any health problems ? She looked visibly shocked. How many people were there to arrest her ? Were some of them armed ? Why did they choose her out of everybody selling there ? I wouldn't be surprised if the shock of the whole experience does kill her. Stress doesn't always kill immediately but there is a relationship between cancer and stress, are you aware of that ? These officers are ignorant and unprofessional in the way that they dealt with her. What have they achieved ? Probably a lot of contempt towards the police, for what ? You think this is justice ? can she afford a lawyer to defend her position? If she cannot have independent legal representation then it's an abuse of power.

No one is against clearing the road and not what but it should be done properly with proper prior notice you can't just wake up and say clear everything and don't come back in such a really short notice without any proper planning that is just wild, these things you will never see happen in the WEST trust me! There has to be a safe passage way for customers to freely walk around and shop. I just hope the vendors were warned and educated on the government’s policy/intentions to foster cooperation . The congestion we experienced in February at the market can only be mitigated by enforcing the laws . It is also a fire hazard, a tinder box if not properly regulated. On the whole it is a good idea to, the implementation is questionable however. I do think the government should offer some type of compensation in-kind ( build another market space & allow the impacted vendors in first ) or monetary for loss of revenue/Perishable goods etc. I feel for both sides. I hope this is not to appease the Arab leaders coming to Gambia just for short term ecstatics . The should consider the trauma this policy in causing vendors.

It breaks my heart to see Mothers
and women in the Patty car. No
chair, stool, or place for them to
sit. A kind warning of not to sell
their goods would be better. No arresting.

what the government doesn't know small businesses, mom and pops shops are the heartbeat of the econony it's the pilar of our societies specially in africa,so it's suicidal to destroyed it without any safety net for those affected.it's good to make gambia look like london but uk is an industrialized country unlike us.we playing with fire don't be surprise if crime, prostitution, theft, mendicity, even riots are the result of that, our economies in africa are in survival mode
