Dr Berg I live in Namibia (Africa) where the internet is a vital source of information, and we are left to our own devices as to misinformation. You SAVED MY LIFE... I am a 50 year old woman, diagnosed with severe insulin resistence confirmed in early 2023, with all the bad health resulting from it. By switching to a keto diet and following your nutritional advice, my life has turned 180 in 7 months. As far as credibility goes, you have the top spot in my book and I constantly refer people to your information. Stand your ground and keep going like never before. You RULE dr Berg!
    Best wishes from Namibia

I've spent my life being told by doctors to eat less and exercise more. I've spent my life starving, always hungry having just eaten. Then, through Dr Berg, I find out about insulin resistance. I take measures to handle this and, like magic, I'm not hungry for the first time in my life. I can stick to a diet regime. I'm losing weight. I needed someone to care about me 45 years ago. @@ursulasmith6402 I feel this a generous assumption. I found the information I needed from the internet so the information was available and published yet no doctor TO THIS DAY has mentioned insulin resistance to me. As recently as 3 months ago, my doctor said "eat less" to me. Yet, 2 months earlier, a nutritionist told me with alarm that I was not eating enough. The doctor's comment was perfunctory at best. Did he know how much I was eating? No. Did he ask me? No. I think doctors DO know but few of them do any real management of health beyond prescribing drugs. And if they dont, then why don't they know? Why are they not well-read and investigating for themselves? Adelle Davis was published in 1932. I dont feel there is any excuse.

Please don't "learn" more from "Dr." Berg. All these results show is that switching to an unprocessed foods diet that cuts out major food groups will support weight loss.
Walter Kempner fed people a diet of white rice and fruit juice to try and save them from fatal hypertension. His subjects lost more than 141 lbs of weight each on average. Does that mean eating rice and fruit juice alone is a generally healthy diet?

I like how Dr. Carlvahlo kept his critique specific to the claims, yet Dr. Berg still included the "push under the bus" meme despite NOTHING personal in his critique.
Then Dr. Berg took one second to admit his mistake about cholesterol, while claiming his "victimhood" by strawman'ing the entire critique as "My views on meat are under attack by the sponsors and Dr. Carlvahlo's team"
As Dr. Carlvahlo pointed out one study, one trial doesn't make a trend. Then Berg lumps Carlvahlo into a suspicious group to guilt by association. And of course, the ultimate straw man: "Other people doing anti-Dr. Berg videos" lol, there it is, victimhood. And keep attacking sponsors to guilt by association.
And asking Dr. Carlvahlo "Well what do YOU recommend?"is the ultimate non-sequitur: E.g., if I critique specific points about say, drinking cow's milk, and your reply to it is "Well, what kind of milk do YOU think is good?" is NOT a logical rebuttal. It's an aversion to specificity and defensive ploy.

Interesting. I followed your advice. Lost 35lbs and importantly after 3 months my cardiologist took me off BP meds, steroids, hormones and reduced my Cholesterol drugs to lowest dose because he said it’s safer. I have since dropped that and am back to running 3-4 times per week where I wasn’t able to after a COv19 jab put me in hospital in April 21 and ramped my BP to over 190/140 and my resting HR to 130. Am back to 125/75 and 48-52 following your advice and not following my doctors anymore.

It's crazy how Dr Berg got some rich and famous from telling people to not eat junk food. People lose weight and get healthier on keto because they're eating less calories without the junk food in their diet.
You can eat keto and still have things like bananas, sweet potatoes, rice, beans, and the outcome won't be any different.

What Carvalho actually got wrong is that he said LDL particle size doesn't matter, all LDL causes cardiovascular disease and damage. The explanation and the articles that debunk his belief are presented between 5:10-7:48. I also saw on another channel of a nutritionist the same idea: oxidised cholesterol which is smaller in volume than normal buoyant LDL gets stuck in the middle layer of the blood vessel, something that the healthy LDL can't do.

@@eyeofsauronsa Liver produces 3000 mg of Cholesterol everyday. How can Cholesterol be the cause of atherosclerosis? The root cause is high insulin which leads to inflammation of arteries. Cholesterol tries to heal inflamed arteries. Blaming Cholesterol is like blaming EMS at the site of an accident. So, both fasting and keto diet are important. One does not even need to eat meat to follow keto diet. So, going against keto diet and promoting vegan diet (which also includes grains and sugars) used to be for promoting billion dollar bread, wheat, sugar/junk food industries and pharma industries. Cholesterol is a dirty indicater of the real risk factor: Apo-B. If you actually watched Dr. Carvalho's videos instead of "Dr." Berg's you might have learned that, as it also explains the narrative that small LDL is more atherogenic than large LDL (spoiler: it is in part because the same amount of cholesterol in small LDL has more lipoprotein particles than the same amount of cholesterol in large LDL, i.e. small LDL contributes more Apo-B).
Besides, Jean Calment smoked until the age of 100 at least and lived to the age of 122. Single exceptions don't disprove the rule. People with genetically very low LDL cholesterol live 7 years longer than the general population on average despite not being able to absorb nutrients as well. People with very high cholesterol genetically live more than 7 years shorter than the general population.
All lines of evidence point towards higher LDL cholesterol particle counts causing ASCVD. Genetic. Pharmaceutical. Lifestyle.

The vegan diet is literally one of the most unhealthy diets you can possibly be on bc of its high sugar high carb content and low nutrient content bc they habitually eat very few vegetables while eating high amounts of prepackaged and processed foods, and they get their most vital nutrients such as B12 and heme iron from synthetic vitamins. Even going the all-natural route in the vegan diet is not sustainable or healthy and no other diet will deplete your vitamin and mineral reserves faster than a vegan diet ☠

Mr. Berg,DC is playing a role in alternative medicine and that’s good. He has a following and many testimonials in other areas. What’s important to remember is atherosclerosis plays a role in over half the deaths in USA and it’s critical he get that right. If it was 20 years ago his thoughts on atherosclerosis would be roughly what we thought to be right. However, it isn’t right now and particle number and ApoB levels are far superior as measures of risk. Why he continues to support his position must be out of arrogance and stubbornness. He is putting life’s at risk.

The thing that really grinds my gears with these plant based, anti keto people is if you tell them your personal story and how you've experimented with all sorts of diets, even vegan and vegetarian diets, only to find that all of your health concerns kept getting worse. But that once you eventually found low carb/keto to be the one thing which brought your health back and even put certain autoimmune-like symptoms into remission, these people STILL want you to ditch the one thing you've found that fixes your problems. They still want to convince you you're better off ditching keto and going back towards their preferred style of eating, even if it means you'll suffer physically and mentally to the point it's debilitating.
Very few of them have a "listen to your body, do what is working for you" mindset. Nope, with them it's "my way or the highway" and they never forget to sprinkle in the propaganda and virtue signaling as well - " its bad for the planet, you're cruel, global warming, blah, blah blah".

My total cholesterol was 8.8 and my GP wanted me to go onto statins. I explained that it's the glycation of the APOB100 protein on LDL that is the issue as it leads to the oxidation of the molecule but they had no idea what I was talking about and insisted. As a result I requested a coronary artery calcium score and went for the MRI. My score was zero "indicating a total absence of atherosclerotic plaque and very low cardiovascular disease risk". So I'm not on statins. and perhaps using Cholesterol as the only metric for risk is a bit unhelpful.
