I am sure this was done on purpose but Beck has the same swagger at Tony making him his evil version in a sense. Also, little did he know how interdimensional beings breaking into our reality would become a very real thing in the next movie.
1:43 I never realized that he looks like Tony stark when he puts on the glasses. I’m sure that was the deciding factor that made Peter want to give the glasses away.
This was probably the biggest plot hole in the movie, or maybe just showing how trusting Peter could be. Sitting in a bar dressed as Mysterio and "Night Monkey" yet no patrons are like "Holy F! Honestly, with a team this big and skilled, Instead of creating some illusion to trick the world, they really could just make themselves a new iron man suit.
My favourite scene. I knew Mysterio was a villain in the comics but I was almost convinced that he was a good hero. The way he revealed himself to be the bad guy was brilliant and he blew my mind to see William from Iron Man there. The guy who played him is an Executive Producer on the film and was doing it as a cameo so, it was pretty cool to see him back.
Start with 6:42 He’s telling the truth. Except that people only cares and hear those who had expensive super sport cars, nobody will not even bother to listen to you, even if you are a smart person.
My theory as to how Beck got fired is this: Shortly after the "BARF" presentation, Beck approached Tony, telling him that the holographic technology he had developed could have much more useful applications, such as a weapon. But, having just had an unsettling run-in with Alfre Woodard's character, the last thing Tony wants is to have his company producing more weapons. Beck starts to freak out at this. This, of course, leads Tony to conclude that he does not want to bankroll a possible weapon developed by someone as (what he calls) "unstable" as Beck, and fires him.
You’re telling me that Tony Stark sacrifices his life to save all sentient life in the universe including the occupants of this room, a fact it is globally known and acknowledged And that did not squash this guys beef? The people in this room are still feeling slighted ?
Maybe they weren’t snapped away during Infinity War so they don’t know what it was like. Plus it’s typical corporate former employees hating their boss, nothing new 😒😑
@@FerdinandMarcosBussy I HIGHLY doubt they ALL survived. Not much going for the defense of this script I know… the only thing I can think of is either some of them would have rather been dead (morbid) or didn’t lose anyone they particularly cared about (really doubt this). Or they’re just happy the guy that fired them is gone??? It’s really dumb I know 😑😑
It’s also for their personal gain to build up Mysterio. Plus these people seem like a special category of petty and vain so maybe there was a good reason they were fired.
This is such a fun scene to watch with people who know nothing about mysterio's character ahead of time. Will always remember the small gasps from the theater when this happened.
If funny to me that,at that time they never consider the fact that how would they really do if people expect them to fight a real avenger level threat? Are they be able to continue fool alien from outer space?
The guy fired by Obadiah Stane went truly insane when he couldn't build the arc reactor that Tony Stark was able to build in a cave, with a box of scraps.😅
Maybe it’s just because my two favorite superheroes are Captain America and Spider-Man, but I loved the similarities between Cap’s 2nd movie (The Winter Soldier) and Peter’s 2nd movie (Far From Home). Both are trying to figure out their role in a new world while feeling obligated to remain what/who they are. Both work closely with Nick Fury who outfits them in a stealth variant of their suit. And both learn that some of the “good guys” they’re working with are actually the bad guys.
The biggest plot hole in this movie was stark giving these glasses and all those weaponized drones to Peter -- a teenager. So many better choices (especially knowing that Tony couldn't have known who wasn't going to make it past endgame). Steve, black panther, Rody, Nat, clint, Falcon, even banner. No good reason to give it to Peter, he is still an immature and naive kid -- powers or not. there's even an argument to NOT give the drones to anyone as opposed to a kid
I think what is overall good about not only this version of Mysterio, but also how it's kind of a lampoon of Marvel movies itself. That line about "It's totally ridiculous and something that everybody is ready to believe right now" is a directly throwing shade at Marvel movie plots as of late. The fact that Quentin's suit was a costume, again lampooning Marvel's costume dept. The "MoCap" suit that Quentin wears later in the movie, again lampooning the "behind the scenes nature" of how CGI in Marvel movies works. The reason why this works so well is this version of Mysterio is lampooning modern cinema and Marvel movies especially and is practically 4th wall breaking. And the great thing is it works. It's just serious enough to NOT be parody, but enough shade to be a legit lampoon at itself without falling apart. It takes masterful directing and acting to do this because you're riding two extremes, which if you're off to one side or the other it falls apart. Fantastic.

Having one of his goons swipe the glasses from Peter, than give them back to him making him think he dropped them on the floor, making him see himself as careless to reinforce his own beliefs that he is too irresponsible to handle that kind of power.
I had to be honest I thought Mysterio explaining his plan was kind of corny in a superhero kind of way
corny but good at the same time
Agreed but it was indeed tasteful
It’s charmingly corny to me, I just started laughing when I saw that I’m like “bro wtf is this”
Honestly same, I get it’s for the audience but him retelling everyone in the rooms plan like they all don’t already know it felt really weird.
Y'all ain't never had a ceremony with classmates or colleagues to celebrate their accomplishments? My boss likes to do bi-weekly awards and give literal trophies to top sales people and detail other people's contributions to the company and award them too. Beck's excitement and praise for his team was endearing in an insidious kinda way. Shame he started abusing them later in the movie.
I am sure this was done on purpose but Beck has the same swagger at Tony making him his evil version in a sense. Also, little did he know how interdimensional beings breaking into our reality would become a very real thing in the next movie.
I love the small theme of responsibility that is weighted on peter in every movie for this version.
7:35 Tobey probably thought the same regarding Tom
I loved the modern way the made Mysterio work
This scene is even more brilliant that I remember. In fact, it's a huge SLAP in all the MCU.
7:10 Foreshadowing the mid-credit scene at the end.
5:45 TONY STARK WAS ABLE TO BUILD THIS IN A CAVE…
WITH A BOX OF SCRAPES!!!!
Lol
He made his necktie fly up...😂
1:43 I never realized that he looks like Tony stark when he puts on the glasses. I’m sure that was the deciding factor that made Peter want to give the glasses away.
The side angle at 1:56 is very Stark too 😉
Always wondered what his spider senses were doing at that time
These are Disney writers.
@@cactusmalone he always had spidey senses himself
He was never in any real danger
@@cactusmalone well imo nwh has fixed the whole spidey sense problem, and the whole iron boy jr thing
Those two were there this entire time that guy with stane and then mysterio was there when the civil war was around
Jake nailed Mysterio’s portrayal brilliantly
This was probably the biggest plot hole in the movie, or maybe just showing how trusting Peter could be. Sitting in a bar dressed as Mysterio and "Night Monkey" yet no patrons are like "Holy F! It's Mysterio and Nightmonkey, they just fought a big fire guy 2 blocks from here!" Sorry to nitpick, I still loved this movie.
I’m trying to remember but a vast majority of the pub was apart of the illusion, the people that were actually there were in on Mystero’s plan.
@@thomasraines1396 Yes that is my whole point, they are too casual in this scene, it should have been a big red flag for Peter. I guess Peter is too pure and naive in his young age to realize this.
@@blueskadoo1402 oh that’s true.
B
Everyone in the pub was in on it though
I hope Mysterio is alive in No Way Home, such a great character and villain
EDIT: He never showed up in No Way Home but maybe Spider-man 4? lol I hope its not a stretch
U will find he is responsible for all the multiverse thing it may all turn out to be a well laid illusion he is after all the master illusionist he faked his death once in far from home when he got shot in the back by nick fury well supposedly it was an illusion just like his death he wanted to frame Peter and turn everyone against him
@@juliemillington9907 wrong
Trash villian
@@stormgamezzhd1343 While the events played differently than the individual envisioned, one can't deny that Mysterio made a massive impact on the MCU.
@@wingedbluj1674 tell that to the other guy he called mysterio trash 😂
fun fact: in Quientin's BARF flashback, he remembers people laughing, but in the original clip, there was no laughter, which references his instability, and his damaged ego
Yup. Also his memory skips that Tony himself said he didn't like the name.
I love this scene
Honestly, with a team this big and skilled, Instead of creating some illusion to trick the world, they really could just make themselves a new iron man suit.
I cried at this scene. I loved Jake playing the hero. When he was revealed to be the villain i was so disappointed.
Nah it was better
Ultimately, it makes perfect sense. Mysterio's whole thing is casting illusions; masking the truth.
read the comics before bro
BRO YOU NEVER READ COMIC !?!?!? MYSTERIO IS LITERALLY A VILLAIN, YOU A FAKE FAN LMAOOO
Tony literally sacrifices himself to save the whole world and this is how they treat him after his death.
The Multiverse is all Mysterio's illusion.
I'm calling it.
And why don't Doc Ock know Peter?
Nope..he doesn't know how doctor ock looks in different universe. How will be project him.
@@destro5451 It's no sense
Nope doesn't make sense, the events of nwh lead up to the MOM.
nah, spiderman spidersense wouldve detected everything by then. In FFH his spidersense wasnt that developed
Wasn't he also the kid from a Christmas Story?
@ChellyBean Yes it is
Dude is an incredible workaholic. Call it a celebration but it only lasts about 5 minutes and he not even drinks a sip of champagne. Hats off.
"Let's get to work!"🤖
Start with 6:42
He’s telling the truth. Except that people only cares and hear those who had expensive super sport cars, nobody will not even bother to listen to you, even if you are a smart person.
Not in my experience. You're just hanging out with the wrong people.
@@zerieljianantonino2075 Bro, everyone only cares about money. Universal truth.
I like that you upload 10 min videos instead of 2 min clips
Peter : fury would give Edith to himself..
Fury : I heard that.. LoL 😆
Gylenhaal played Mysterio as such a likeable character it makes me wish Mysterio was a good guy.
3:00 love that his straight face changes to crazy eyes
Comic book fans knew this was coming
the regular non marvel audience didnt see this coming.
Yeah I am also Comic Book Fan I knew that Mysterio was the main villain while MCU fans just lose their minds in movie mall
This sort of twist villain plot is uncommon in MCU and they executed it so well.
This is one of the best scenes
I only just noticed that Tony, Peter and Mysterio open Edith saying “yeah, high”
You’re telling me that Tony Stark sacrifices his life to save all sentient life in the universe including the occupants of this room, a fact it is globally known and acknowledged And that did not squash this guys beef? The people in this room are still feeling slighted ?
script is ass i know
Maybe they weren’t snapped away during Infinity War so they don’t know what it was like. Plus it’s typical corporate former employees hating their boss, nothing new 😒😑
@@glydoughnut9432 lol they all coincidentally survive the snap, all of them in that room? no
@@FerdinandMarcosBussy I HIGHLY doubt they ALL survived.
The most evil thing Mysterio ever did was a complete exposition dump in the middle of a Spiderman movie.
4:20 the party begins
3:50 what's OST name/theme???
Man when I first watch this movie i was thinking "wait for it, wait for it," through the whole movie until this happened and I was happy
The guy fired by Obadiah Stane went truly insane when he couldn't build the arc reactor that Tony Stark was able to build in a cave, with a box of scraps.😅
one of the best scenes in the movie.
For me who wasn't follow the comic, this twist was really got me
Maybe it’s just because my two favorite superheroes are Captain America and Spider-Man, but I loved the similarities between Cap’s 2nd movie (The Winter Soldier) and Peter’s 2nd movie (Far From Home). Both are trying to figure out their role in a new world while feeling obligated to remain what/who they are. Both work closely with Nick Fury who outfits them in a stealth variant of their suit. And both learn that some of the “good guys” they’re working with are actually the bad guys.
GOOTS! That little addition gets me every time.
4:02 even at that moment I still thought Mysterio was actually good and was wondering what was happening until 4:10.
Wow, such good writing.
Telling the world your evil plan 😂😂😂
The biggest plot hole in this movie was stark giving these glasses and all those weaponized drones to Peter -- a teenager. So many better choices (especially knowing that Tony couldn't have known who wasn't going to make it past endgame). Steve, black panther, Rody, Nat, clint, Falcon, even banner.
No good reason to give it to Peter, he is still an immature and naive kid -- powers or not. there's even an argument to NOT give the drones to anyone as opposed to a kid
Best character ever
Up until the objects started disappearing, I thought Mysterio was an actual hero
And the glasses actually look better on him
I think what is overall good about not only this version of Mysterio, but also how it's kind of a lampoon of Marvel movies itself. Fantastic.
It's crazy how incredibly stupid this version of spiderman is even tho he's supposed to be a super genius
It would've taken one teeny tiny background check to realise that the guy exists and worked close with an Avenger.
Clearly, all their histories had been wiped from existence. Quentin isn't even the dude's real name. We never get to learn what it was.
He looks pretty stable to me.
What a valuable lesson to all young individuals out here....
