    Love the video, but platform screen doors most definitely are not unique to Honolulu 🤣
    Maybe in the USA? 🤔

      *First in the USA outside of airport People Mover systems. First on a rapid transit system in the USA.

    Very nice and beautiful transit system! :) Can’t wait to ride someday!
    And wow! First time seeing the glass barriers on the edge of a platform on a USA transit system. Very smart thinking. NYC and other transit systems don’t have that and sadly people fall or get pushed onto the tracks.

    Great having the station miles away from any houses in the middle of farmland. What a waste of money that people on Oahu 75% of them won't even use yet are paying up da wazzu for this train.

      does it? it looks dirty but not old to me. Lots of undeveloped land around this station yet.

      I agree, it’s super dull and brown. They need more color and vibrance. There’s too much concrete and brick, and it would look a lot better with some other colors instead of just brown.

    The only other places in North America that use those platform safety gates are those miniature metros found inside of airports, such as Aerotrain in IAD.

    When can passengers commence riding the trains and why are they running now? Can the contract that did the Airport area do the rest? Their part was really fast in setting up?

    Detroit and Seattle also platform gates for their monorails, as well as every APM in the US. HART is different as it is comparable to Vancouver's Sky Train

    • @OliversElevators
      @OliversElevators 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Detroit people mover doesn’t have platform gates - it just has a normal platform. The Seattle monorail does have them, but they’re pretty unconventional.

    We paid over 10 billion dollars to have rail stations that looks like it was constructed in the 1940s.

      @Aaron K we spending 10 billion on a 15 mile track im sure we could get better than decades old rail stations.

    • @OliversElevators
      @OliversElevators 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah this station is ugly. It needs more color. There’s too much brown and gray, and too much concrete and cinder brick. It definitely doesn’t look like a station that was built only 1 year ago.

    Those safety gates on the guideway that won't open till the train is ready to unload and boarding. That's SMART!!! European stations like in Paris or London already have these. That way no low life homeless person can push a rider to their death.

    I’m sorry, but this station is ugly. It’s so brown and gray, and there’s too much concrete and cinder brick. They need to add more color like on Sydney’s new Metro line to make the stations feel newer and cleaner. This station reminds me of the underside of the stands in a football stadium.

    Why are you guys creating all of these peripheral items when the rail completion date just got pushed back to 2031? You know all of these things that won’t be used for another decade is going to be outdated by that time right? If I pay people to build an airport I don’t want to hear what kind of state of the art walking belt you’ve installed when the runway is not projected to be finished for 10 years.
    Elon Must and the boring company, as ambitious as it is, sounds more realistic in 10 years. We should have paid someone who knows how to get the job done. I’d be embarrassed to be a part of this project let alone going on TH-cam and talking about it for all to see.
