    I'm a fan of prefilling oil filters. Have always done it on cars too

    Oil change should be done after the bike has been put through its paces, so the oil goes out hot, that way it will flush out all the residue that builds up over time. The bigest mistake people do is change oil after the bike has been sitting for days or weeks without getting it proper hot.

      You are correct. Always warm the bike up prior to draining oil. 🤙🏼

    Do you need to lift it to drain the oil? Are you lifting it through the exhaust pipe? I like Camel-ADV's screw-in vented funnel. No fiddling or tipping.

      It needs to be straight up and down on a level service. The motorcycle lift does that well. Bike is resting on the skid plate mounting points and not putting pressure on the headers.
      A center stand or paddock stand for rear wheel will also work! 🤙🏼

    Not quite as easy as my 2stroke Husky ...😉 But from what I've seen of other ADV bikes the T7's oil change is a piece of cake 👍

      I really miss my two-stroke dragons. Can honestly say that I’m jealous that you have one and I bet she makes you smile every time you fire her up!

      @@MotomojoFL I'm adding a T7 for ADV riding, but keeping the Husky for enduro. I'm in New England, the trail systems here are tight, rocky and wet and I'm not ready to stop riding them. They are no place I'd bring an ADV bike.

    Totally new to this. What is the tool you used to remove the filter?

    • @MotomojoFL
      @MotomojoFL  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Normally you can use a oil filter wrench to remove and tighten. The filter is put on with minimal force using the wrench. Sometimes the removal is difficult and you need the oil filter pliers to remove an over tightened filter.

    Do you happen to have part # for oil filter and crush washer?

    • @MotomojoFL
      @MotomojoFL  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t. The MC shop grabs one for me and puts it in my oil filter box.

    Are you lifting the bike up on the exhaust header 😬

    • @MotomojoFL
      @MotomojoFL  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nope. The protection rails and bash plate. Thats what they’re there for.
