I am a HUGE fan of synthetic oil after the following experience on an Italian bike I once had: Roughly 600 miles/1000 km after I changed the oil, the bike required Castrol RS, I had to pull the engine apart, and the oil was about as clean as when I did the oil change. No black sludge! That did it for me! :-) In other words, the synthetic oil stays cleaner longer, the reason why I like to use synthetic, even if it in many cases is overkill.
Fantastic video and very nice camera work , theatre room setup - i will be causious and only hand tighten the filter , use 18ftlb on the plug but really great posting - thankyou
It was NOT staged. It was a real oil change. The cost of 3 quarts of Yamalube, one Oil Filter and one Crush Washer, including tax here in the Deep South, is $53.01; i.e. a little too much to stage! :-)
Great video, to the point info no fluff. Thanks for that. I like your work stand do you mind sharing what brand/type you are using, I am gonna buy one soon, can you recommend any? TIA
I ended up with the Weaver W-1000 lift. Good lift at a reasonable price. I spent too many hours looking at different lifts. Ha Ha! I have also spent too many hours disassembling and reassembling motorcycles sitting on the floor and I really like this lift! :-)
best Tenere oil change video I have seen so far. Really easy to follow and understand
Super clean, thank you sir, just finished mine after watching
Thank you for your instructional videos Orbsurfer. Very helpful!
that's the cleanest bike i've ever seen
Good info I need to buy a Tenere-your shop looks medically clean enough for my next surgery...
Good video but the T7 doesn’t need fully synthetic oil. Both Yamaha dealers I’ve spoken to said semi is recommended by Yamaha

Nice video nice &e Aston to follow , thanks for taking the time to make it .🏍🏍🎉🎉👍👍
Is that crush washer a special type of washer? Is it commonly found or bought at the dealer?
Did you stage this. The engine oil from the drain plug looks used, but the oil from the filter looks brand new.

Please tell me what the Yamaha oil filter part number is and what diameter filter socket/adapter is needed. Thanks!
Great job. Thanks
Does the cp2- engine not have an air-vent screw on the cylinder head? What is with the Air in the oil-circuit?
Informative video (thank you), occasionally let down by bad audio.
I haven't seen a video in a while. Hope you're doing well.
great video, thanks
Thank you, very well made content. How many km did you had on that oil? Seems to be in a really good shape!
That was the first oil change; i.e. 1000 miles - 1600 km. The oil on the next oil change was more contaminated! :-)
@@orbsurfer8195 why is te oil change interval so close? It has to go at leasts 6000km with normal terrein

Prefilling the oil filter with fresh oil before spinning it on might be advisable and easy to do.
My oil plug came out the same way first time.
What sizew is the oil filter wrench i have to buy @orbsurver , thanks
