      The only reason the Saints were in that position was because of Brees. During 2012 and 2014-2016 the team had a HORRIBLE defense. Brees's magic kept those teams at 7-9. Without him they would have bottomed out at 2-14 probably. That gave them time to do a slow rebuild to get all the players for the 2017-2020 run.

    One perk about the new schedule expanding by a single non-conference game is that maybe we won't always have to wait 8 years for these match-ups. Brady beat the Saints twice with 5sec or less on the clock and knocked them out of the 20-21 playoffs after being crushed by them twice in the regular season giving Brady a 6-5 edge over them which is still impressive for the saints considering Brady has never lost to any NFL team more than he has beaten them. The Fins beat him the most, 12xs, but they were in his division and he beat them twice as much. What a legend.

    I mean, c'mon, that has got to be one of the worst defenses ever, you let Austin Collie and Kembrell Thompkins get open and pick you apart?

    • @TheLocalLt
      @TheLocalLt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Post-concussions Austin Collie in his first ever game for the Patriots too… I believe that 4th down was his second catch as a Patriot, the first being earlier they same drive

    Saints got the ball twice near the end of the game and only used maybe 30 seconds. Terrible time management.

    And the pass is caught by Kenbrell Thompkins, and that’s a drive into deep left field by Castellanos and that’ll be a home run. And that’ll make it a 4-0 ball game.

  • @salasanoski3947

    That was actually smart on the pats to go for it on fourth down on their own territory with 3 mins left. If punt the ball one first down with that much field ends game. With 20 yds one first down they’d have to score td or kick a fg then pats get ball back but all depends on how the defense is playing

    I know Brady eventually won out, but looking back at this and seeing good db's that actually stop people and disrupt passes LEGALLY is something you don't see anymore. Today nobody can guard receivers without drawing a PI.

  • @clark2501

    Even when the Saints defense was good, maybe even elite, they still found ways to let Brees down in the final minutes/seconds.
