Well done! Your review went beyond all others. I’m considering the Weber 600 or XL, to sit on my deck, next to my Blackstone 36” Griddle with cabinet. You covered all aspects.
Primussingleton, Thanks for the kind words of support and for checking in! Been driving this pit for nearly 5 months now, knock on wood solid! Good luck with yours. I would ge the Xl for the extra size if it fits you. Cheers!
I would also recommend some GrillGrate sections for searing. I have a separate Weber 28 inch griddle that I purchased last year and keep my griddle tools on the shelf there. This allows the front shelf I previously mentioned and I love the extra space it provides.
Appreciate the breakdown and feedback on this. Been looking to upgrade from my tiny electric smoker for some time. Ordered the XL last week. Looking forward to putting it to the test.
Again - great video! My XL 600 is about 1-1/2 months old now. I have the rotisserie, front & side tables, cover, HF magnets, crafted frame kit ... I love this grill so far. For the cover I use a mini handi clamp to fasten it to the shelf. Has worked for a week now. I had the crafted wok already and found the wok rests on the flavorizer bar even with the reducer ring provided with the wok. It wobbles a little but works fine. Now for the griddle, I need to make 6 double smash burgers. I had a 28" Weber griddle and it just fit the burgers so I was sad to see the griddle you have that is recommended by Weber has less area than my 28" griddle. Then I looked at the Crafted griddle. Guess what? Two crafted griddles have a little more area than my 28" griddle. I have used these a few times now and they heat up very quickly. I have found two heat up faster and maintain temperature better than one.
Mike, thank you for the support and kind words. Sounds like you have pimped her out well!! It doesn’t surprise me that the double griddle heats and holds temp well. There’s less room for convective heat loss through the open grates. Cheers!
@@sambosplace One more thing I forgot. Once I put the top rack in up-side-down and the handle could burn your hand if you held it. The top rack held the lid up ever so slightly and allowed heat out the front of the cover right on the handle. So got me thinking with my two crafted griddles the handle doesn’t get any hotter than when I’m not using them. Could it you need to reposition your griddle a bit to allow the cover to close tightly?
Mike, the big griddle sits flush. Doesn’t prop open the lid. I’m currently discussing SmokeFire Stealth replacement handle with Weber. PN #’s. 64786 and 64739. The mounting holes are the same distance apart.
I'm thinking of getting the crafted grates and the smaller griddle that goes on that crafted rack seems like a nice option than having to take the big one in and out to use the crafted stuff. Also my pid controller is not starting up correctly I have to unplug and plug it back in almost every time.
Great review! The movie cut scenes are awesome.... I love my searwood. I have several different types of grills (Weber Spirit Gas, Weber Smokey Mountain, and a Santa Maria) What makes the Searwood special is its flexibility and reliability. My Smokefire, which I returned, would have a grease fire or meltdown of some sort any time I tried pushing it over 400 degrees. There are so many cooking options when you combine the Weber Crafted System and a rotisserie. I just did kabobs last night with the rotisserie kabob attachment and it was awesome. As you know, the cleaning is night and day compared to the SF and I am glad I don't have to break out the shop vac anymore.
Tyler, you are spot on with all points! My Santa Maria should be here any day now. Couple things I do miss from the SmokeFire (reliability aside) but…. This SearWood is close to being great at everything you ask it to do!
Just stumbled on your video while looking for Searwood info. I appreciate the detailed review. Very helpful! One question: how is its “set it and forget it” functionality? I love my Weber Smokey Mountain and I actually enjoy playing around with temp control when I have the time, but that’s not always the case. Id love to get something that I don’t have to monitor so closely. If I decide the Searwood is the way to go, I have a little over five months to drop hints for Father’s Day. Any suggestions? Sublety is not required. 😊
Happy holidays Larry, thanks for the kind words and for checking in. “Set it and forget it” is 2 fold meaning when compared to stick and box smokers, where temperature control and smoke amount is on you. With a pellet smoker and current PID controller technology, you just set the temp manually or using your phone app, and let it go. The pit takes care of itself. Albeit, you still have to monitor your cooks and temp your food. There are times you may have to fiddle with temp control as I mentioned in my Christmas turkey video, but you’re not babysitting a fire all day. Some guys love that and I used to also when life wasn’t so hectic. Good luck with Father’s Day! Hope it bears fruit!! Cheers!
Thank you for an excellent review including all the pluses and minuses of the SearWood. Versatility appears to be it's biggest selling point. Build quality could be better but it's not bad. Your suggestions to Weber to make improvements should be taken seriously by Weber. Overall I take this to be a positive review. Considering all it can do I tend to agree.
Arlum, thanks for the support. The key is longevity and health. If it maintains the amount of cook time I put into it, then it’s worth the price point of entry. Cheers!
One thing I did that I absolutely love is I drilled two holes equally distant apart on the lid and installed two external thermometers. Now I actually have three temperatures that I can read from two thermometers and the temperature probe inside. I don’t have to wonder anymore what the temperatures are across the grill
Allen, I have considered adding external thermometers. If I’m really being anal, I’ll grab my temp gun and temp the grates. The more I use it, the more I’m adjusting to knowing the pit. Thanks for checking in!
Sambo…. You just fixed my biggest frustration with my searwood. I had just accepted the fact that I had to grab the handle in the middle to open. Thank you sir
Tyler, you’re quite welcome. It’s really a crappy design when you go look at a big Genesis hood or if you’ve seen a SmokeFire. Don’t know what they were thinking other than cost cutting. BE CAREFUL tightening those bolt caps inside. They look flimsy…. That “how tight is too tight before I strip it” type of deal. Cheers!
Hey Sam, I understand that a pellet grill is going to have temp swings but just trying to find one with minimum temp swings is all. I’m on the fence between buying a Recteq Deckboss 590 and the Weber Searwood 600 and just don’t know which one to get. Appreciate all your help if you don’t mind. Looks great!! I already have a 26” Weber kettle, and I love it. I can smoke on it too and have but want a pellet smoker for the added convenience of longer cooks. I will use it primarily for smoking low and slow.
Russ, I don’t have any personal experience with a Req. My first pellet was a Pitboss Pro that was a decent smoker and griller. My second was the SmokeFire. EXCELLENT smoker, terrible for searing. This SearWood is not as robust a smoker as the SmokeFire, but it’s much more capable if you’re willing to do the accessories. If you saw any of my videos progressing through the Smokefire issues, I decided to Give Weber another shot and I’m glad I did. I don’t think you can go wrong with any smoker in the 800 to 1200 range…. But I’d ask myself what else do you need it for. Cheers! Thanks for checking in!
Great video again. I have a couple questions for you. What’s the difference between manual mode and 10 versus automatic mode on 600°? Also have you considered converting all the stainless steel grates to cast-iron grates?
Allen, thanks for the supportive words. My understanding is manual mode 10 is like an accelerator bypass. You just get full feed and full fan regardless of internal thermometer. 600 will keep temp with the internal probe. And anything lost due to hood open conditions will put the PID in motion to burst the pellet feed and modulate the fan. With manual. Your accelerator is stuck to the floor on 10. I find manual mode is more efficient with the griddle. Thanks for inquiring!
@@sambosplace Not sure if you covered this, but do you have an idea of the quantity of pellets you go through running the grill on 10, say 10# of pellets per 30min? Curious about really how fast you go through pellets if you're doing breakfast on the griddle for 30+ minutes of cooking.
Danc, I can’t say for sure how many lbs per minute for 30 minutes. It’s not the most efficient griddle. It does go through the fuel. I didn’t have mine set at 10, 7 I believe for the bacon, I think, if memory serves me, 6 on the eggs. That griddle retains serious heat. You are going to blow thru pellets. Hope this helps. Cheers.
Another great video. One question.....if you are cooking a load of let's say bacon or other high-fat-releasing food, where does all the grease go? Is there a hole in it so the grease can drain out? The griddles I have used all have drain holes with a grease-catching cup under them. How do you manage that in the Searwood?
Mike, thanks for the kind words of support. There’s a huge horizontal grease port along the back. Simply scrape or push the grease towards it. The grease then flows down the back of the pit and actually makes it to the ash pan and grease tray. Surprisingly works better than the SmokeFire and does what it should. Cheers!
I wish they had the front shelf in stock. Been a month and still out of stock. I installed work bench raised casters on the front so it’s easier to move around. You press them down and it lifts the legs so you can move it. And unlock it and it lowers the legs back on to the ground. Thinking a drilling couple holes to be able to run the probs inside without having the lid sit on the wires. Love this smoker. Better than my ironwood 885 I had.

Hey, I’ve been watching a few of your videos today while researching things to do with my new Searwood xl 😂 so, really appreciating the deep dives! One maybe silly question that I might have missed - how do you have the top cook grating and tools hanging on the front of yours? I feel like there isn’t enough room.. so you have some kind of hook accessories?
Teniko, I had my wife’s machine shop make me some brackets that bolt in where the front shelf would go. Just like on the SmokeFire. Tool management is poo poo on this. I use the back brackets for chord management. I talked about all this in my Pimp yo Pit video. I think I posted links to the magnet hooks and paper towel holder also. Cheers.
Trying to decide on a pellet smoker. Leaning towards the Searwood 600. A good part of it is brand loyalty. Any other recommendations in this price range? I have grills and a griddle, so I really don't need an all in one. Top concern would probably be reliability. Something non-China would help sway me also. Thanks.
Chicken wings, to completely avoid global parts sourcing, you’d have to look at Yoder, Pits n Spits or perhaps Lone Star grills. My Weber SmokeFire was a complete junkwagon. When it worked, it was fantastic. This SearWood is a complete package. Not as robust a smoker as the SmokeFire, but better than my previous Pit Boss Smokers. Hope this helps. Cheers!
@@sambosplace - Thanks. Can't really justify 2k+ for my first smoker. Think I'll just try not to let my money burn a hole in my pocket, do more research, and think on it for a while.
Thank you for all your advice. I just ordered one from Weber. Look forward to more cooks and advice. Have you used the thermometer probe and does it work well? Any recommendations on pellets?
Randel, thanks for the kind words! Appreciate you. It’s sad we worry about shipping these days. 10 years ago, not even a thought about it. I’m about to receive, any day now, a new live fire, Santa Maria, Argentine grill and I’m sweating the delivery. 🤞 I’m sure Weber would rectify any damage asap.
@@sambosplace Service at almost every level has declined. I am sure Weber would absolutely take care of it. I just rather be able to have quick turnaround if needed. 🍻
Mark, I lived in West Palm for 9 years. I know the moisture content there. There are several you can choose from on Amazon. You can have a custom one created on Covers & All. I still employ the factory cover, just don’t put anythjng of rust value on the lower shelf. Thanks for checking in! Cheers!
Mercadex, I’m not sure it would stay in place as you slide that ash pan in and out. I have found that just power washing it does the trick. Thanks for checking in!! Cheers!
Sambo, where did you get the paper towel rack for your Searwood ? By the way your videos were the deciding factor purchasing a Searwood XL. It should be coming in this week.

EEB, thanks for the kind words. Yes I do. But don’t expect it to protect your lower shelf from moisture. Sometimes I don’t dump the pellets, so I cover up to mitigate moisture.
Waiting for my 600 to arrive… A little late in the season can these things be running in the winter and can you leave the pellets in it if they stay dry in the winter time or is that a big Nono? Thanks if you can respond
East coast, thanks for checking in. I’m running mine today, will run it all winter. I suggest a cover for sure. Drop your pellets when not using to be safe. It’s damp here in the NE during winter. Thanks for checking in!! Cheers!!
Great helpful video. I have been using Weber Grills for over 35 years. I realize this might be blasphemy, did you consider Traeger. I am looking at the 885. The only reason I started to look at Trager is Weber's short and complaint full history of their pellet grills.
Steven, thanks for the supportive words. If you’re looking for as close to an all-in-one that does many things well, then this is it. If you’re more of a smoker, go Traeger or possibly another competitor. Cheers.
Thanks , Was about to purchase smokefire ext4, but will hold out for Searwood to show up here down under .. the local weber sales rep so edgey when I ask when is new model coming 😂.
Stephen, thanks for the kind words of support! Here’s hoping you have great luck and cooks with it. Feel free to check back with any questions! Cheers!
Trauma, gravity feed is an interesting concept. The PID controller and the auger delivery is upgraded over the Smokefire. If you have the time, check out my previous videos on the transition from the SmokeFire. I discuss the auger issues. In short, the auger shaft was angled upward and not centered in the auger tunnel. I show that. Knock on wood, the SearWood has been flawless and I use it very often. Have burned three nearly 30 bags of pellets, both wood and charcoal, zero feed issues. Cheers!
@@sambosplace I am watching more of your videos to get what was all about the Smokefire issues. I for one am stuck with a DynaGlo Signature Series smoker that I wrestle everytime I want to smoke something. That's why I am starting to check for pellets for long and *even* cooks. Great information you are providing, thanks a lot.
Thanks for the support. That’s no place to be wrestling with every smoke. If you’re looking for just a pellet smoker, there’s enough great choices to make your head spin, but if you’re looking for the closest “all-in-one” you can find, without spending 2400 on a Yoder, this is as close as you can get. Cheers.
2 questions..Are there stainless steel grates available? I understand these are plated. What about moving it around when you have no handle to lift and pull?
Mark, thanks for checking in. I honestly do not know about stainless grates. I know they make the coated cast iron inserts. Easier to move in my opinion. Have you backpedaled and caught your shin on the bottom shelf with that close handle? That’s eliminated with the side shelf. In my install video I demonstrated moving it with that robust shelf. Cheers!
@ennushi6699 It wasn’t a straight up exchange, like a vehicle trade-in deal. There were several, warranty issues after issues that I documented in videos over the winter. If you wish, check them out, I explained the process I was involved in with Weber customer service. Thanks.
Sonic, I do believe. I have a Blackstone and since the Weber griddle is seasoned via wood fire, there is a Smokey element to it. Makes phenomenal pancakes.
Are you still without any major issues at three months? I have a Smoke Fire Gen 1 that finally died after a wind storm tossed it around. Looking to get a Sear Wood soon.
Matt, sorry to you hear of your SF loss. This pit, knock on wood, has taken everything I can throw at it with no issues. I left it open to cool down and forgot about it, 1.5” downpour through the whole thing, filled the grease pan with water…. No issues. No auger clogs, no PID controller problems. Nothing… only complaints I have are tool management and that she’s not as robust a smoker as my SF was. There, I just jinxed myself…. 😉.
@@sambosplace youre welkom i bought a ex6 in belgium in september and had a bonge of problems with it until it died at me and they send the epx 6 unstead in Europe we cant get the searwood. Hope weber gets us in on the action
Ron, the PID gave you issues? Was it temp mode or manual? Yes, Jesse C is not only vigilant but courteous and most helpful. Glad he’s on your ticket. Sorry to hear about the grill tho.
Mycat. I cannot. It would be presumptive for me to say stainless…. I’d go with nickel. But you’d want the porcelain coated cast iron for grilling anyway.
I keep going back and forth between the weber Searwood or the weber Kamado, the Kamado can due about everything that the Searwood can but won't be subject to break like a pellet grill can IE screw the PID controller. Sometimes simple is better
Brian, I did seriously consider the Kamado, and may add it in to the grill patio one day. I use my SearWood at least 3-4 times per week. Have gone thru over 250 pounds of fuel. No issues. The main difference is set and forget. These China built pits are only going to last 4-5 years. A Kamado should last longer. Pros and cons abound. What works best for your cooks is the question. Cheers.
By the way I just purchased the Weber searwood 600 XL and already have buyers remorse because of all the issues I have not read and stumbled upon , I sure hope I am one of the lucky ones that do not have issues with the grill 😬
William, I’m unaware of any issues other than poor tool management, poor cable management and the manual mode being highly I efficient? What are you hearing? Thanks.
@@sambosplace , on webers website there are reviews of it breaking after a week and the control panel going out or even though the temperature is set at 250 it would go all the way to 600 …..just makes me nervous because I bought it thinking and wanting it to be a work horse
I really like the Searwood and would have purchased one in a flash BUT, with it having just 2 wheels, it's unfortunately a deal breaker for me. My patio is a very difficult surface to move any grill around and without 4 nice size wheels, it's of no use to me. Sad. Weber certainly dropped the ball on that. I do enjoy your videos (subscribed) and will continue to watch them.
Mike, thanks for the Sub. The smokefire had 4 wheels and it was horrid to move around. Flimsy legs and the casters were garbage. The thing would get hung up on pellets that hit the ground. Was a pain in the dupa just to move in and out of my garage over cement edges. This pit is not so bad to wheel around. For all things it does well, perhaps it could be lived with. I assembled this in my garage, wheeled it up, by myself 3 garage service steps into and across my living room and out to the back deck. Thanks again. Cheers.
Loved the video, thank you! First time seeing the SearWood and immediately thought of getting rid of my Smokefire EX6, owned two years now, experienced all the issues and headaches, just have to remember to clean every couple of burns. Loved weber, have some of their gas/charcoal grills but it's going to be a long time before I buy Weber again.
You had the ex6 I have the ex4 which is awesome and does all the things Weber said it could do without fault, it’s awesome , with that said have you seen the smaller unit if so have had the opportunity two compare the two?
Bradly, I had the ELX6 Stealth Sear+. Seems there were but 2 camps. Ones that worked and ones that didn’t. I did not and do not have the 600 to compare to. I did see one at a local hardware. But did not tear into it to compare parts. Thanks for checking in!
Jaime, every pellet grill smoker I’ve owned imparted a smoke signature taste. Some more than others. The Weber SmokeFire was the champion in my back yard. This SearWood is slightly less. Hope that helps. Cheers!
I'm not 100 percent on the side shelf recommendation. I got the front shelf and it is more than enough room to work. i also like having the handle to move the grill a bit to clean my deck every now and again.
John, I’m glad the front shelf works for you. Two PLUS PLUSes for the side shelf…. One, it’s robust enough to pick up and move it. I demonstrated it in my install video. 2, you’re not bangin your shins against the bottom shelf when walking it backwards and moving it. 😉. Thanks for checkin in.
Great video! They just delivered my Searwood 600 yesterday, and I got as far as burn-in. During that process, I hoped my neighbor across the back wall didn't mind the smoke or the noise (something like an asphalt paving rig). The thing is heavy! They should have put casters on the left legs. Agreed about the handle! HOT! My Summit doesn't do that. I won't get the rotisserie, because if I want rotisserie chicken, I'll use the one supplied on the Summit and maybe get another smoker box. I like your use of both charcoal & hardwood pellets. I'll try that. I dont care about the griddle, or the pizza stone or wok. I love the flexibilty and concept, and can't wait to do a brisket and pulled pork! 👍🏻
Robert, congrats and thanks for the words of support. I’m finding that for longer smokes, I’m going back to straight wood pellets. Going to post a video on that soon. Enjoy your cooks!!
Not related to the video: WHY would Weber announce the covers are back in stock KNOWING how many SearWoods are out here and run out AGAIN before Father’s Day??? WHY???!!! I absolutely love my front table - side table is among the last things I would get. Just me.
Mark, glad it works for you. Everyone has their routine and “muscle memory”. I want nothing in front of me. Reach is awkward. Just a personal choice. Cheers!
Cyde, I do mix them 50/50 with hickory and love that combo best! I did notice they burn a bit hotter faster, even with the mix. Thanks for the inquiry!!

There are times you may have to fiddle with temp control as I mentioned in my Christmas turkey video, but you’re not babysitting a fire all day. Some guys love that and I used to also when life wasn’t so hectic. Good luck with Father’s Day! Hope it bears fruit!! Cheers!
That was a great video. I've been thinking about buying one. This video made up my mind thanks to you.
User, thanks for the kind words of support. Appreciate you. Good luck with your purchase. Cheers!
Your film cut scenes are absolutely top notch my man !!!! 👏🏻
Thanks for the kind words!!! Cheers
You did a nice job on this. Incorporating the comedy was great.
Cooper, thanks for the kind supportive words and for checking in! Merry Christmas, happy holidays!
Cheers!
@@sambosplace I also experienced nearly the exact same issue. My experience with weber was about the same as yours. I really appreciate this fix.
Hey Sam,
I understand that a pellet grill is going to have temp swings but just trying to find one with minimum temp swings is all.
Little village, interesting mods. Thanks for the tips! You should be able to run those probe lines in the slots of the lower cook box. Cheers!
Oh really I will have to look at that thanks
Curious about the caster idea. How does that fit?
@@markgoyne5097
I purchased these from Amazon. And all you do is drills some holes and use bolts on the legs using the templet and it’s done pretty easy

Great review, great video. That wind chime though had me wondering the whole time if Jason Vorhees was coming around the corner to take you out 😅.
Aaron, that’s great! I never thought of that wind chime connection!! It was a gift from my kids when they were very young, so it reminds me of their childhood. Thanks for the kind words and channel support!!! Glad it helped! Cheers!!
the nature reminds me of the border between VA and WVa. beautiful country you've got there. super helpful video, too.
A.C., thanks for the kind words of support. I’ve traveled 77N thru WV many times. Beautiful country. NEPA has its moments. Summer and fall. Cheers!
Cheers.
@@sambosplaceawesome, thanks! Again I appreciate the videos, really insightful. Have a great grill season :)
You do as well!! Thanks!
Chicken Wings, understood, but you don’t have to blow out 2K right off the top. Good luck with your decision!!!
Thank you for all your advice. I just ordered one from Weber. Look forward to more cooks and advice. Have you used the thermometer probe and does it work well? Any recommendations on pellets?
Oldman, you’re quite welcome. Hope it helps. I have used the Weber, it’s running about 4 degrees cooler than my Meater 2.
Great review! Still waiting for some local spots to get stock. I see it in stock at Weber, but leary of shipping damage.
Randel, thanks for the kind words! Appreciate you. It’s sad we worry about shipping these days. 10 years ago, not even a thought about it. I’m about to receive, any day now, a new live fire, Santa Maria, Argentine grill and I’m sweating the delivery. 🤞
I’m sure Weber would rectify any damage asap.
@@sambosplace Service at almost every level has declined. I am sure Weber would absolutely take care of it. I just rather be able to have quick turnaround if needed. 🍻
Indeed it is. My wife’s business ships and receives daily. Shes told me the insides of those trucks look like last day, eviction notice movers.
Have you found a better cover? I live in south Florida with a ton of rain in the summer.
Mark, I lived in West Palm for 9 years. I know the moisture content there. There are several you can choose from on Amazon. You can have a custom one created on Covers & All. I still employ the factory cover, just don’t put anythjng of rust value on the lower shelf. Thanks for checking in! Cheers!
Could you line the grease catch with foil to make cleaning it easier or would that impact parts of the cooking?
Mercadex, I’m not sure it would stay in place as you slide that ash pan in and out. I have found that just power washing it does the trick. Thanks for checking in!! Cheers!
Sambo, where did you get the paper towel rack for your Searwood ? By the way your videos were the deciding factor purchasing a Searwood XL. It should be coming in this week.
Fiftywt. Thanks for the kind words of support. Wishing you the best with your XL!! Glad to have helped. The paper towel holder and other magnets are from Harbor Freight. Check out the vid. Cheers!!

Great video. Do you actually use the cover or leave it to side like I do with my smoke fire? Thinking I’ll pass on the cover next time.
Cheers!!
@ thanks for the reply! Yes up here on the east coast in Canada it’s damp and cold.. thanks again 👌
You’re quite welcome. I hope they have it in stock soon for you! Cheers!
Fantastic video! Just bought the Searwood 600
Stephen, thanks for the kind words of support! Here’s hoping you have great luck and cooks with it. Feel free to check back with any questions! Cheers!
Would it be a big deal to leave the sear grate insert in all the time?
Michael, great question. Nope. No problem at all, in fact I only remove it when I smoke big meats and use the griddle. Cheers!
I want to go the Masterbuilt Gravity Series XT because I am afraid of all the auger issues, but that SearWood from Weber is really getting to me.
Cheers!
Great video. I currently own a Smokefire and I would like to exchange it for SearWood. How did you do it?
Thanks
@ennushi6699 It wasn’t a straight up exchange, like a vehicle trade-in deal. There were several, warranty issues after issues that I documented in videos over the winter. If you wish, check them out, I explained the process I was involved in with Weber customer service. Thanks.
@@sambosplace Thanks, I'll check them out
You’re quite welcome!
I wrapped my Traeger handle with some leather, about 1” wide, wrapped like a tennis racquet handle. Takes care of the hot handle!
Ryan, good call! I actually have found the SmokeFire part number with rubberized handle. Thanks for the tip!! Cheers!
Does food on the griddle taste any different / better than a typical electric griddle?
Sonic, I do believe. I have a Blackstone and since the Weber griddle is seasoned via wood fire, there is a Smokey element to it. Makes phenomenal pancakes.
@@sambosplace thank you for the reply!
Welcome!

Did you ever found out about if the EX handle fits on the Searwood?
Ricky, I did... Contacted Weber and they want 100++ for the parts and shipping. Couldn’t justify it. I’ll stick with my hot glove.

Hello any suggestions for a better cover than Weber offers?
Fabian, there’s a plethora of them available on Amazon. I just haven’t picked one out yet. Cheers!
Can you tell if the grates are nickel plated or stainless.
Mycat. I cannot. It would be presumptive for me to say stainless…. I’d go with nickel. But you’d want the porcelain coated cast iron for grilling anyway.
Do you think it’s possible to rotisserie a turkey on the Searwood?
Absolutely!! Weber claims up to 20 lbs.
@sambosplace how do you get that much room, remove the heat shield?
Jeff, where are you referring to?
@@sambosplace doing a turkey?
@@sambosplace it wasn't enough clearance for a water pan under the cooking surface
Cheers.
Did you end up getting a new cover for your searwood?
Lulu, thanks for checking in. As of today, I have not. Still pandering a lower wet shelf with the junk Weber.
So where do you put a water/drip pan?
Tactical, if I’m smoking on the upper rack, directly under. If I’m smoking on the lower rack, next to it since I have room with the 36” pit. Cheers!
Did the smokefire handle fit??
@fishindoc, I never ordered it because after the quote of parts and shipping being north of $100, I settled for hot pads. Cheers!
Ish, thanks for the supportive words. So far, so good with this itineration of the Weber wood pellet grill. Cheers!

When you use it for smoking, does the food come out with a more smoky flavor or is it just like any other pellet smoker? By the way love your videos

I absolutely love my front table - side table is among the last things I would get. Just me.
Mark, glad it works for you. Everyone has their routine and “muscle memory”. I want nothing in front of me. Reach is awkward. Just a personal choice. Cheers!
Can you try charcoal pellets with your griddle to see how it performs?
Cyde, I do mix them 50/50 with hickory and love that combo best! I did notice they burn a bit hotter faster, even with the mix. Thanks for the inquiry!!
