@@Warlockracy It is? I did not know that. I was just going off of the video. One of the signs appears to be a las vegas style sign that reads "Tucson" but some of the letters are faded. Kinda like how the No Vacancy sign resulted in a town being called "Novac".
I know this is a year old comment, but had to add, in New Vegas the ghoul companion Raul mentions in-universe that HE is mad that it got renamed to "Two-sun" instead of Tucson.
Greetings @Warlockracy! I loved this video so much and was so surprised by the lack of Fallout: Sonora content on TH-cam. I made an easy installation guide with an English Translation and have since started a full playthrough! Thank you for inspiring this dream! I will give you a shoutout!
I love the little linguistic gag about "Two Sun;" considering it's set in the Cal-Nev-Ari bloc of America, it's probable that that's actually Tucson, Arizona. This is a phonetic (mis)pronunciation of it, which is read "Too Son" or, Two Sun. It's kind of like how people in NV call the Big Mt research site "The Big Empty." And that's dope.

I remain shocked every time I see a new Warlock vid and see that the sub count is still only at 10k. Your content is such high quality, I dunno how the channel hasn't blown up yet
Honestly it's the lack of marketing/context for his videos. For example - i avoided clicking on this video, because i thought it was just another subpar Fallout 3 mod video. Boy was i in for a surprise. That music... It would help him if he titled his videos more appealing. E.G "Fallout - Sonora, the most authentic Fallout feel" or something.
Yeah, the content is really good, but tbh I prefer it staying somewhat underappreciated and flying under radar. All of the niche creators I follow tend to attract certain overly vitriolic groups of audiences that influence said creators in a bad way the more they grow. I don't wanna go through another heartache of a channel's owner inserting his head up his rectum :^(
@@Shiroi0moi I guess it depends on what sort of thing you consider "head up rectum", but Warlockracy isn't exactly subtle about a lot of beliefs, so I don't think those vitriolic groups will find support from from him.
Those 3D talking heads really are beautiful, great works of art. The vanilla ones were claymation models, apparently. Possibly my favourite material used in stop-motion, a style I already like. The rippled textures and jerky mehanical movements lend themselves well to surreal horror and fantasy - or endearing man-and-dog animations, if you polish it round and smooth enough. 🧀 Imagine Talos the bronze titan slowly rotating his dreadful, lifeless visage to stare upon the characters in Jason And The Argonauts, but recreated with modern CGI. No, not the same. And, of course, the shrieking skeletons. And the six-armed statue from The Golden Voyage of Sinbad. Ah, too many to name. I remember playing an old game that you can't get anymore outside of torrenting called Magic & Mayhem (Or, in some territories, a name that involved Mage Wars). It had a great voice actor narration and all the character models and cutscenes were claymation. The frame rate was like a legless pisshead climbing up the stairs at 3:00 in the morning, but something with that kind of charm deserves a remake and not to be lost to the ages. The kids these days need some more claymation joy in their lives. Thses are the hard-hitting issues that only occur to a man on the toilet.
Honestly, as a lifetime fan of fallout, this game was such a delight to play! The moral ambiguity of your decisions, the consequences being immediately noticeable, the factions having both good and bad sides, the exploration aspect feeling rewarding and fun (the curios you find all over the world). It was so refreshing, it made me fall in love with video games all over again! I think, this is my favorite Fallout game of all execution-wise, even though it's non-canon. Guess I'm gonna join the translation team so you english speaking gringos can enjoy it sooner! Thank you for covering this monster of a game, Warlockracy! Instant sub :)
I giggled like a loon when you just straight up cold clocked that fella and stole his rifle. ARGHH!!! When you mentioned there were only 4 bounty hunter quests a great idea for a 5th came to mind. Mid-game you could clear a bounty set on yourself to collect the reward and neutralize the bad reputation you've accumulated with certain factions encountered in the early game by locating someone who's been impersonating you. This would provide players the opportunity for a hard reset before they dive into the game's world and political landscape in earnest, similar to how the factions of New Vegas would offer an olive branch allowing the player to do a 180 after they've had time to familiarize themselves with all the major players. I love Fallout mods but when inspiration strikes it's so frustrating to accept I don't know the first thing about coding.
I like to complete Lonesome Road and nuke NCR and the Legion first thing when I start a new save. As soon as you get the chip they just forgive you killing millions and destroying their supply lines. The Followers don't even get mad at you so there is literally no concequence 🤣
I love that they included the Flagstaff Natural History Museum, and the dinosaur they have on display in the lobby of the museum! That's so great attention to detail! I lived in Flagstaff for several years, I'd love to explore an isometric Flagstaff Fallout whenever the translation becomes available
As much as I would love Bethesda to set a fallout game in Mexico, I also don’t want Bethesda to botch another game, especially including a culture I love.
Jesus christ, wasn't expecting this any time soon at all. Your output is insane for the amount of content made with writing and edits and everything. Big respect as always. Keep up the good work!
As a musician who seeks great influence out of atmospheric scores more & more lately, I am really impressed how closely they managed to capture the desolate & ominous essence of Mark Morgans creations. If I wasn't told who created the soundtrack for Fallout Sonora, I would have easily thought that they hired Mark for those amazing compositions. Even though I have no skills in modding or game design, projects like these really inspire me to maybe learn about it or maybe even study it in the future. Because I have countless ideas for fallout fitting lore & stories in my mind. I even written scripts how to make fallout 3 for example a real rpg instead of a shooter with rpg elements. Im not really much of a gamer, merely a person who appreciates love & passion put in a project. Which was visible in Obsidians/Black Isles fallout games. Im also very grateful that so many modders & game designers are out there keeping the spirit of classic fallout still alive to this day. It would be an honor to be a part of a dev team some day to pitch them ideas for stories. This project looks really promising & I will definitely try it once its in english. And I hope that they find suitable voice actors to do the excellent talking heads animation & looks justice. Also, Subscribed. Btw you have a great narrating voice.
Awww it's sad to see the Mexican Army get Legion'd (made into antagonists with little content, even less so than Caesar's Legion even.) Also the Spanish speaking trait being gimped. Was kinda hoping for more Mexico content after Raul in NV talked of it. But alas, still the mod is of high quality. Far more than the other Classic Fallout mods you've shown save for Nevada I suppose
This mod is incredibly lore-friendly towards Fallout New Vegas and 1/2. So much so that it honestly feels like it belongs amongst the canon. I am amazed it's not more well known.
To be fair, the Mexican Army has not always been the good guys with its people. Much like France, Mexico had been constantly fighting itself from its inception. From the first powergrabs of Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, to the Cristero Wars.
I always got a very "limited in reach, extensive in influence" sort of "pax Americana" vibe from the original BoS, and I think Sonora's BoS is a logical extension of this. I really appreciate the vaguely indomitable feel they have in their little fortress complex - it seems so fragile, like running a couple of overt missions at once would leave them overextended and vulnerable. It's a more lore-friendly vibe than any of the first person games had, imo. Especially FO4, that BoS was way too strong and organised for the East Coast imo
I thought it was very fitting and a really great metaphor that they kept all of this great technology in a freaking BLIMP. One of the most fragile modes of transportation ever invented especially when any idiot on the ground could be packing a laser rifle capable of obliterating everything they've ever accomplished. It's like putting all your eggs in one basket and also storing your very old and unstable dynamite in that very same basket. Something I could easily see the paranoid and short sighted east coast BoS doing.
Bizarre seeing my tiny Arizona town of Flagstaff get mentioned and featured here. Distinct lack of Holy Fire churches here, but we’ve got our fair share of cults. Greetings, Warlockracy, from the Romanian diaspora! Love the videos, you’re a legend.

TH-cam suggestions are usually terrible, but it recommended me this video and I'm totally on board now. Your writing and narration combined with your video editing and dry humor is absolutely top notch.. This was an excellent use of 75 minutes and I look forward to watching more of your videos.
the author of the soundtrack is at least very talented, at the most he is a genius. so many masterpiece music tracks with so many sound effects and layered musical textures. each track creates an incredible immersion in the atmosphere of the game. Developers are lucky to have such a composer. I hope he's working on another soundtrack now
There is a new english translation in the works at NMA forums by a guy called Cambragol. It's already complete and quite good, but it still has some rough edges and could use more contributers. The guy seems really dedicated and I think it's the best we'll get.
Very cool! The town "Quartz" is very interesting! I used to work in a town called Quartzite Arizona about 2 hours out of California, and it was a town that filled up with hundreds of thousands of trailers in the winter. I wonder if it's a coincidence, or the devs did some gem and rock trading in quartzsite =]
Got to say: this mod looks a pretty damn cool combination of the best of Fallout 1 and 2, even with the flaws the video points out. I would love to give a spin some time.
Original Fallout mod w/ Arcanum influences? As soon as this gets an english translation I'm going in. Thanks YT algorithm for reommending this vid and channel.
It’s both interesting and fucked up that when it comes time to broker a deal in the second half of the game with one of the factions you basically have to team up with one of the groups directly or indirectly responsible for the enslavement of your people, Everyone who is important in this universe uses slaves for one reason or another and nobody’s hands are clean. It’s interesting and probably more accurate to a post apocalyptic economy would be run.
Thank you for playing through these games. I don’t have a pc to play these on and don’t speak the language, learning about such a dedicated community for this wonderful old game and getting to see the content through someone well skilled in translating and entertaining is great!
I just realized why i am so engaged with these fallout videos. your way of narration and telling the story lines up exactly with the way Louis Lamour writes. Hes an author who wrote fiction about the old west and the stories were like an anthology of drama just like the plots in fallout.
Ok aside from gushing over your video, gotta say the custom assets of Sonora are fucking dope. From Wattz to the Mexican themed stuff to the ammo/guns. It's just impressive how they make it look unique yet fitting in with the F1 and F2 assets.

It's kind of like how people in NV call the Big Mt research site "The Big Empty."
And that's dope.
Hey, as an American with Spanish as a second language you did surprising well for pronouncing things in Spanish. I will definitely check out this mod. God job as always.
Imagine a Russian who loves Spanish, English and Fallout, getting this mod from a Russian modder team
@@Redguard677 it wasn't meant to be demeaning in anyway. He did a very good job and I wanted to compliment him on his effort. Obviously he put effort into learning how to properly pronounce words in a new language and it shows. I know plenty of American youtubers that say things wrong in English, and it bugs me. I am trying to learn Russian and I still say "spasibay" instead of spasibo.

I remain shocked every time I see a new Warlock vid and see that the sub count is still only at 10k.
Your content is such high quality, I dunno how the channel hasn't blown up yet
Yeah, it's weird. It seems like the views outpace the subs pretty easily.
SUBS FOR THE MOD GOD
Imagine Talos the bronze titan slowly rotating his dreadful, lifeless visage to stare upon the characters in Jason And The Argonauts, but recreated with modern CGI.
Reminds me of The Neverhood and Skullmonkeys. Claymation in games can be so cool.
This English-speaking gringo would love you long time if you helped the translation along, Alexey.

Mexican fiction is so rare, I'm glad somebody did it well

Nevada had a problem of feeling kind of like a quest-pack. This seems like a much better, more cohesive mod! Great to see such improvements!
The talking heads in this mod are amazing. Great video as usual!
As much as I would love Bethesda to set a fallout game in Mexico, I also don’t want Bethesda to botch another game, especially including a culture I love.
A Mexico themed Obsidian game would go quite hard if I do say so.
@@TheTGOACbro obsidian don’t exist anymore lmao, unless you wanna go back in time to 2010 and bring them to the present to make a new game

As a musician who seeks great influence out of atmospheric scores more & more lately, I am really impressed how closely they managed to capture the desolate & ominous essence of Mark Morgans creations.
If I wasn't told who created the soundtrack for Fallout Sonora, I would
have easily thought that they hired Mark for those amazing compositions.
Btw you have a great narrating voice.
yea the soundtrack is awesome. written by one person Aleksei Trofimov "nobody's nail machine"
Also you will encounter Raul along the main story
@@planescaped it's only a year old.

Love the videos, you’re a legend.

the author of the soundtrack is at least very talented, at the most he is a genius. so many masterpiece music tracks with so many sound effects and layered musical textures. each track creates an incredible immersion in the atmosphere of the game.
The way you handled the endgame to heal the wasteland reminded me a lot of Joshua Graham's "we can't expect God to do all the work" ethos.

I'm from Mexico and I can say that this is more like sonorous news than a post apocalyptic future
