Palm oil industry is actually a victim from its competitors, middlemen and businessmen. A palm tree could provide up to 25 years of harvest within the same area. No extra land or deforestation done as claimed. In fact the plantation has created healthy neighbourhood and community. It also became a habitat for a lot of animals.
The sad thing is that, the farmers and growers earn so little from it, that's why they can't manage it well. The middlemen and bussinesmen enjoys the most profit from the cheap cost and and high profit margin.
Bad rumours and false information leads to the price down to almost the lowest point. Palm oil planters barely sustained the operation if it not due to side income from planting other plants in the plantations. They keep planting for the sake of just to survive and not to become rich like the middlemen and businessmen.
It's such a cruel fate and injustice to one side..😞

People who are fixated on palm oil have misplaced priorities and ulterior motives. Without palm oil an area as big as Australia would have been deforested by inefficient alternative crops like soybean and rapeseed. Biggest polluting & deforesting commodities are in following order: livestock/meat, dairy, soybean, rapeseed, sunflower then palm oil.

We have research in palm oil to became G100 (Gasoline fuel from 100% Palm Oil) and J100 (Jet Fuel from 100% palm oil). For all of you who oppose Palm Oil, please research more thoroughly. The biggest problem is deforestation and pollution. Deforestation is a problem for opening a new plantation (not for the existing one). Pollution problem should be solved by forcing companies to take sustainable certification (although it can increase the price of CPO). These 2 problems can't be solved by blindly make a campaign to ban palm oil products, that's a total mindless solution. Until now, palm oil still don't have a better substitution. You Europeans can check the fact about your soybeans, it's far less effective and it already takes much more lands than palm oils. Palm Oil ban campaign is not for global warming, the main reason is for politics by your governments to boost other natural oils that can be planted outside the tropical regions

Sooner or later the world will become overpopulated so it doesn't matter, I think the forest that is cut down for planting oil palm trees is better than the forest that is cut down for timber use, because oil palm can make other country's economy increase and the forests that are taken for wood are hundreds of years old, whereas for oil palm plantations, most of them use empty land rather than deforestation.

Blaming agriculture for deforestration is absurd if agriculture actually helps planting trees..

With every year we having haze from Indonesia, for decade, but with world act they just start to be afraid. I'm blaming Indonesia government for this problem, instead of other poor country effect by this boycott.
Do you know whenever there is wild fire the Indonesia government will take over the land by do nothing instead collecting to make new Capital City.
People burn it because of demand, if they raise the land as plantation, the demand will decrease. This is how Indonesia government does solve the problem.
