During high school my parents had concerns with my tardies. I was a strict AB honor roll student, but when I left essay outlines or packets/ folders at home, which happened a lot my Sophomore year, went home and went back to school to turn in homework. Being "a school walker" ended up making me jog a ton: tried out for Soccer and Track in 10th grade but that's another story.
So there's this time in December 2019 in English for 5th period my teacher was explaining Senior Skip Day and how that got turned into a school field trip for Seniors that year. Well, that same day I ran home to grab papers for a 14-references Bibliography to my World History Essay I took weeks developing. All grades was due the very next week. Well some security guards caught me running off but they were some distance away and in a orange "mini-Tractor". I ran straight out the school ,saw them, ran across some blocks outside the school, came back to school then ran across the school outskirts, and made it at home without the Tractor. Lucky. While there I looked up Senior Skip Day: that's the first day I learned of Mac Miller Skip Day and "Project K.I.D.S.". Oh, and yeah I played this song like once during morning Detention in 12th grade. But this was my fun memories.
**For reference: Imagine an ignorant world without flash drives and without sending attachments through e-mail back to yourself, that was me during 2019-20 year.
*** Quite literally wrote my Microsoft Word essay main points on a sheet of paper, went to school to class, and "guess-estimated" what my content was supposed to mean when I re-created talking points in my School District Microsoft Word Docs for World History. But I learned better way in 12th grade (2021) when I took a really difficult Calculus BC class which even made me create an Orange spiral full of sheets called "Anti-Wifi Chronicles and Phone Photo-Gallery Notes". 12th grade was my funniest high school year since I was proactively using tech-notes to cram HW at school or finally perform tutoring with Math, Chemistry, and Computer Science classes.

This song made me cry. My friend Adonis showed me this kids album when we were in middle school. We said on our senior skip day we'll listen to this and chill. Thing is, is that Adonis had cancer since he was in 2nd grade. Man he was a fighter, unfortunately he passed away our freshman year, I'm a senior this year and starting this year was pretty hard without him😔 miss you man. I remember my senior skip day back in 2012. It was pouring rain, but my friends and I took a two hour trip to New Jersey from southwest Connecticut, just so we could get some food from Sonic. We blasted this song. So young with our whole lives ahead of us...we felt invincible. Can’t believe that was 9 years ago, almost to the day.

Shit, I remember being 14 going 15 and listening to this as a freshman in high school. Now I'm a sophomore in college and turn 20 next week. It's crazy how music can bring you back and give you the same feeling as when you first heard the song. Music is timeless, man......

Especially when you listen to music that you were listening to in 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade because those are the times when you were developing self identity, therefore listening to that music makes it feel like the "soundtrack" to your life.
2011-2012 my jam skipping school jamming this song on senior skip day when the song was brand new high with my brand new wireless beats headphones lol was feeling myself. got me into mac. listened to him till the end.was a great ride. I changed with him. Wish I had made it to a concert.
