It was weird, like it didn’t matter he was white, he didn’t make CapRap or try to be hard, there was something in his authenticity and genuine love for rap that made him a legend. Like he really just loved the craft and I really think the stardom got to him, it probably wasn’t what he imagined. I feel Mac was a real artist, he just wanted to make music and have fun but the pressure of the industry and fake people, probably lead to his battle with addiction and crumbling under the stress of fame. It’s sad because watching these early Mac videos you can see a happy young guy who really is just enjoying doing his thing.

Man as someone who has never been much into Rap/HipHop I remember my younger brother showing me this song years ago and I immediately liked it. Then I would listen more of his songs here and there like "Donald Trump", "Best Day Ever", and "Hurt Feelings" and I began to really get into his stuff and gained a new appreciation for rap along with the work of Eminem and Tupac. Honestly when Mac died in 2018 it sucked, this guy was a very diverse artist who could have gone anywhere, RIP.

Mac miller was a whole different breed ushered in a new generation. It was weird, like it didn’t matter he was white, he didn’t make CapRap or try to be hard, there was something in his authenticity and genuine love for rap that made him a legend. Like he really just loved the craft and I really think the stardom got to him, it probably wasn’t what he imagined.
I feel Mac was a real artist, he just wanted to make music and have fun but the pressure of the industry and fake people, probably lead to his battle with addiction and crumbling under the stress of fame.
It’s sad because watching these early Mac videos you can see a happy young guy who really is just enjoying doing his thing.
