I see all these comments about how this wasn't their experience. I went to college in 2007 and this was my exact experience. I went to class Monday through Wednesday. I did all my homework those days and partied Thursday through Sunday. This was exactly my experience and it was awesome. Those were my last favorite days. Man I miss those days.

I was a senior in college when the song first came out I thought it was pretty annoying plus you heard it everywhere...but the video makes me painfully nostalgic for all the crazy fun nights I had. If you're going to college or already there, I would just suggest to be your own individual. Don't be pressured to do anything you don't want or feel is not right. Personally, I was just friendly to everyone I came across and played music/guitar in a cover band and subsequently I went to more parties than I can even attempt to recall. I do think, if you're so inclined, get the partying and carefree-ness out of your system in your early 20s when best able to keep up with yourself...I will never say it's the "best time of your life" because I've been perfectly content with how my post college journey and I see it all as equal...some good, some bad. I was getting wildly off-track towards the end. But I snapped back together and focused on my classes and grades towards the end and I'm glad I did - I have a successful career and awesome friends, side-hustles and hobbies even 15 years later. Just keeping busy and making sure I do everything in moderation and plan for my future. It all has to balance out, and that continues for your entire life. With each generation and cohort it seems like it's getting more difficult though and I see it constantly with my younger friends...just keep at what you love to do, don't give up, do well in school and then afterwards just embrace life and hold your friends, family, and memories close.

As someone who went from a 1.02 GPA from 2007-2011 at community college (and whose life was pretty close to this song) to a 3.96 with 5 honors and a bachelors in finance in 2018, I don't regret a damn thing.

If you want college to be like this song then you have to choose the right school. I went to a commute school so my college experience was nothing like this. However, I had and I visited friends that went to party schools... it was awesome. Shit was a movie. But drinking/partying every day does get boring after a while. And if it doesn't get boring it usually means you have some sort of problem like alcoholism or something else. Also if you want to be a doctor or something that requires excellent grades in undergrad then be wise about your school choice; college is great but don't let the partying ruin the career you've wanted from a young age.
