Ive spent the last 3 years hiking and living out a backpack. One of your last post when you lost steering control, made me realize what im doing is nothing!. So now im looking at sail boats for sale!! I have no clue what im getting into but who cares..
Its amazing that your boat was built in 1965 and you're sailing around the world in her. I left school in 1967 and to think it was built 2 years before that is just incredible. I guess glass fibre boats are extremely durable and strong.
Hi James, and Rhonda, looks like you’re having fun. Good to see you’ve got the good stuff Bundaberg ginger beer absolutely delicious. Keep up the good work wonderful and to see the smiles on both of your faces. Cliff from Australia
Loved seeing Rhonda! What a gift to find each other. Live your best lives, seek happiness, and enjoy your adventures! Looking forward to watching more! Sail on… Anita, Captain SV “Andiamo” 1972 Cape Dory #345
@@anitamiracle5370 yeah Rhonda is completely a blessing to this equation. I loved watching Captain James for months and then when Rhonda got on his boat, I was going to be so sad if she got off and I’m a 49-year-old man with a lot of feelings🥲. I’m glad she didn’t
Beautiful and absorbing content. The magic of exploring is enhanced with Rhonda on board. The appreciation of your surroundings and experience from both of you is lovely to watch
I’m so happy for you James ! I’ve been following you for a minute of two. It’s so great to see you so happy !! Ronda , I hope you enjoy this ride your on. You seem like an awesome partner for him !! Fair winds to both of you ❤
Good times 🎉 solo sailing might have some advantages but I think having crew is better. This episode has me looking in the classifieds for a sailboat ⛵️
I very much look forward to your Journeys with the Kiwi.... You're blessed brother, someone dropped an angel in your lap. I'm very happy for you BOTH!!
Great to see you have some company mate. She seems like a nice person. We all deserve to have someone in our lives. Life has a funny way of bringing people together. Love your videos mate.
I’m from Arizona. I get seasick and I know absolutely nothing about sailing. When I watch your videos I’m so relaxed and feel like I know everything about sailing. Seriously your channel helps me so much man 😂!! Sending love from the Sonoran desert!
To say the least from a person who, like I said, in the past is landlocked due to health issues, really locked to a bed for the most part, you are my hero friend Captain James. I don’t know if you’re intent I know it wasn’t actually to ever like become somebody’s hero by posting all of this all of these videos, but you truly are a hero of mine. 🌹✌🏼
Thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The view was spectacular. Rhonda has a beautiful smile, and her leg tattoos, I bet, have interesting stories. 🧘🏽♀️🐈⬛😊
So great, James: I have followed you since you actually left the USA with the initially unintended solo sailing plan...you are sincere and interesting and I love your Yarns!! Such a good idea, you sharing stories with other sailors...that's what it's all about! and Yeah to Rhonda...you both seem excited and happy and in tune...great to see as yes, as your followers, we know you love being around people too and it's great to see your ongoing energy and excitement as well as honesty! :-D
So very happy that you've found Rhonda, she seems very down to earth and straight down the line. It very much reminds me of when I met my partner, and how she puts up with me. Much love
ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE INNER PRAYERS IN YOUR THOUGHTS AT END MATE. ABSORBING THE GOODNESS THAT YOU DESERVE TO BE IN BECAUSE YOU HAVE MADE IT REAL - ps: thanks for sharing with those of us who cant physically be there or just guys like me who you motvate to do it
I was going to add, never waste a fishing opportunity, in the sounds, hooks in the water, but I see you have that issue under control. Thanks for sharing. Hullo to Rhonda. Take care mate.
Rhonda I hope you change his luck too. He used to lose steering in the middle of the pacific after spending lots of months on the boat :D Happy for you! cheers!!! :)))
Rhonda, you mentioned being worried about James losing followers because he is no longer solo sailing. What of the followers he will gain because of the endearing charm you bring? Thanks as always for taking us along for the ride you two.
Whoah, the gorgeous looking Rhonda most certainly looks like a worthy crew person to have on board. Another fun fact @ 19:40 In 1986 a NZ pilot for some reason tried to go between that rock and Cape Jackson when piloting a Russian cruise liner, the Mikhail Lermontov, it struck rock and sank with the loss of one life. The ship is now a dive attraction en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_Mikhail_Lermontov
Hey James , we really enjoy your adventures. If you want to know how to get farenheit temp from Celsius . Double the Celsius number and add 30 and you'll be close to farenheit. Cheers.
You got to get out and enjoy as much as possible our life’s our short so cool…James got cool hair if i grew mine out it would be to bushy so it doesn’t work for me definitely does for James
Interesting to hear reference on the Good Ship Triteia, to both imperial and metric e.g Fahrenheit vis a vis Centigrade. I understand that due to it's size and embedded systems, conversion to metric was just too big a jump for USA whereas NZ, being a small country, metric adoption was much easier and hence metric adoption. Yet USA has had metric currency much longer than NZ which converted to decimal currency in 1967. Being kiwi, I struggle with Fahrenbeejingles 😀
SV Triteia. Old girl. Built when they actually put material into a boat and built them SOLID. Sure you're lacking the LED TV on a lift, but your mission of cruising is light years ahead of that "new" tech BS.... What you do in her, is beyond words....and it is only because you know her inside and out. Impressive isn't the word. I'm an owner of an older powerboat, Blackfin, and I couldn't imagine trusting a POS production boat these days. Though I powerboat, what attracted me here is your awareness of the quality of hulls of the past!!!
Hi I know the Sounds well, best way to catch blue cod, ledger rig ( 2 hooks with a sinker on the end of the line ) squid bate on the hooks or whatever you can find, drop the line around rocks they are a bottom dwelling fish, all the best.

Ha! Agreed... Even a thousand piece puzzle has 2 special pieces that fit so perfect, no one can deny!
You two were meant for each other. This is one of the reasons why needed to cross the Pacific, your soulmate was on the other side of the ocean
Cept one of ems a serial killer.
Love the warmth of the vibe you two share. Much as I enjoy your solo journeys, Triteia was built for two :)
My husband and I love your adventures we've been with you since the beginning... this video made us so happy.. you seem so happy and she is lovely ❤
Thank you 🙏🏻
Good onya James having someone like Rhonda to share all your sailing adventures with makes it more interesting cheers !!

Go for it, don't let anything stop you...i would say get a twin keel i think most sailors would say the same. Don't let anyone take it away..
Rhonda has some great energy and she seems really friendly. It's awesome that you brought her along
She is the best company

Yes especially the 60s boats because they were overbuilt so they last much longer than boats built in the 80s/90s
Hey mate thanks for another awesome episode 👍 a big warm welcome to Rhonda, you are great on camera! James you seem alot happier also! Cheers guy's
The legend of the Triteia continues!

Welcome Rhonda! Great episode today James. The temp of that water looks deceiving esp as Rhonda swam around in it like it was 79 degrees hahaaha

you look happy man i can see it in your eyes. how did you get the wind vain to work when the tiller broke?
Hydrovanes have their own rudder
i meant did you have to set a course to steer? how did you keep the boat from the shore in that emergency?@@SailorJames
The hyrdovane steers itself with the paddle edge pointed into the wind
