    I always wondered about Yuvraj’s celebration against Australia in the QFs of the 2011 WC. The other day I heard Yuvraj in a Podcast that it was very hard to beat Australia in the World Cups.
    Then I understood why Yuvraj celebrated the way he did in the 2011 QF after beating Australia.

    Nothing justifies going at 3.5 rpo in middle overs even if batting ends at no.7. Since 1999 India have never played a game where they hit less than 5 boundaries from 11-40. Gambhir rightly said before the game-"Braver side wins the big matches "

    • @Bharat_tretayuga

      its was not even 3.5RPO..india scored 120run in 30overs from 11th to 40th over..so 3RPO the run rate..thats how pathetic India batted in middle over..Kohli and KL were meek and timid..Kohli was always timid in big games and he proved that..Kohli always needed a big support in knockouts to do well, a small hiccup and forgets his natural game..happened in 2019WC Semis, happened in CT2017 Final..even in 2032WC Semis it needed the Iyer counter attack which helped calm down Kohli, even there, he's very slow compared to Iyer, and luckily he got out and other batsman scored faster towards the end else NZ could have chased 350 that day

Currently he is in rehab after being involved in car accident. • @AbhishekSingh-fn1lo
      @AbhishekSingh-fn1lo 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No. You are forgetting that throughout this World Cup, India have made big totals on a good pitch but no team scored 300 vs India even on a good pitch. It just shows how strong India's bowling was in this World Cup.
      So if a flat pitch was made for the final, then there was no chance for Australia. India would have beaten Australia comprehensively.

    • @jehanariyaratnam2874
      @jehanariyaratnam2874 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@AbhishekSingh-fn1lo they were obviously scared to do that. Aus scored 350 in the game before the World Cup started and India couldn't chase that. They also failed to chase 280 in the series earlier in the year when Australia had Ashton Agar in the side, They prepared that final pitch to negate Australias fast bowlers and limit Australias batsmen with spinners, it's the classic model India use to win despite not having as good a side as the opposition in reality. They've been doing that for years and will never be the best with that ongoing attitude, they believe they can only compete with the best if they bring out the sandpits. Deep down that shows they probably realise they're not as good as the hype makes them out to be.
      No point bashing sides, when everything's in your favour then stumbling at the final hurdle.
      And that final performance really did show how much of it was all hype because in the end it was quite a comfortable victory. And India's bowlers only looked threatening with the new ball, once that wore off they became cannon fodder.

    • @AbhishekSingh-fn1lo
      @AbhishekSingh-fn1lo 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jehanariyaratnam2874 yeah it's true that India prepared that pitch in order to trouble the Australian batsmen and restrict them to a low total so that later India could chase it down when the conditions would be better to bat under lights.
      That's where India got wrong. They were shocked by Australian decision to bowl first. They thought that even if Australia win toss they would bat first. But it wasn't to be.
      India should have prepared a good batting pitch. In case of batting first, it would be good for India as they were having momentum of putting big totals. And in case they were to bowl first then they should have trusted their bowlers to restrict Australia to a gettable total.
      India just needed to show trust in themselves and stick to their process instead of having fear of failure. Had they done so, they would have beaten Australia. They didn't need to prepare such a bad pitch I agree.

    I am not an expert in cricket, I see it for mere entertainment and to support my country but I have to say this that it's easy to say when virat and Rahul were batting, one of them should have taken chances or played big shots, but as a viewer of the match I saw how Australians were bowling, they were not giving any room for either virat or Rahul to play big shots. And every time they played a 4, someone they stopped it. From reaching the boundary. I think Indian cricket team needs to replay the finals video and analyse Australian bowling and practice it to ace that kind of slow or dot ball.

      Exactly....you are spot on. That is also what I think. Rohit Sharma would have definitely bowled first looking at the pitch condition. He just bluffed that we anyways wanted to bat first when he was asked after toss what he would have done.
      India thought that regarding toss we will be in a win- win situation. Rohit Sharma thought that if Australia win the toss, then they would bat first going by the WC history i.e. whenever Aus have won the toss in knock outs they have always batted first. And India would have bowled first had they won the toss. So India thought we will anyways get what we want i.e. bowl first.
      But it wasn't to be and Australia's decision to bowl first shocked the Indian team. As India were not prepared to bat first on that bad pitch. They fell into their own trap which they had laid for Australian batsmen.
      India should have prepared a good pitch by trusting their strength rather than the weakness of the opposition. The toss then would have been immaterial.

      @zafarhussain4848 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @subysen9782 I don't think including New Zealand and England with Australia as far as mindset is concerned is way of base. New Zealand did win ICC test championship besting India but their overall record in converting semi finals and finals in white ball cricket is worse than India!! People talk about New Zealand consistently reaching semi and finals of white ball cricket which is what India has been doing also, but while India are called chokers that same logic why the hell is not used for New Zealand because they are a bunch of nice guys!! They lost in the semis of 1992 world cup, lost in finals of 2015 world cup, lost in finals of 2019, lost in semi finals of 2023 world cup. What white ball ICC event have they won in the so many years? Besides winning a ICC championship trophy years back. So I don't think India can learn anyone from the kiwis or England who also lost quite a few finals in ODI cricket but things turned around after Eoin Morgan took over. @@zafarhussain4848 NZ are not chokers because a choker is a superior team that consistently loses. NZ has a tiny population and always plays above their weight, so making semi final stage is already a win for them and anything more is a bonus. If NZ lose people think 'they did well to get this far', they're expected to lose. They dont think 'they are chokers because they lost to a better team'. Making semi final stage for India is expected as a minimum. That's why India are chokers and NZ are not

    Pietersen was Player of the Tournament when England became Champion of T20-WORLDCUP
    Irfan was POTM when India became Champion of T20-WORLDCUP

    KL Rahul-106balls, only 66runs with just one boundaries..he slowed down so much after india lost 3wickets..does not justifies such a timid approach no matter what Dravid and team management says..India were 83/3 after 10overs. A very good runrate with 83run already on board..not like India were 40/5..KL Rahul's approach does not justfies World Cup Final..he's just too slow..he's even wasting part time bowlers like Head and Maxwell..Head gave just 4runs in 2overs..thats how Pathetic KL Rahul played..Shami at no.8 does not mean slowing down so drastically from 83/3 from 11th over onwards and scoring just 120run in 30overs from 11th to 40th overs..such negative mindset we also saw in 2019WC Semis against NZ..drop KL Rahul, and drop those seniors who are timid..drop jadeja too who is a a joke at no.7..

    My reasons
    1. Play to your strengths, not opponents weaknesses. They messed with pitch. Bad decision. Should have stuck with scoring wicket which is our strength. Or perhaps Mumbai or Bangalore.
    2. Batting average or poor. We should have been braver and at least tried lefty Kishan vs Netherlands in last game or should have given chances to Sky or Rahul at top in the same last game to give them match practice. The dependence on Rohit and Kohli showed up in the final at the wrong time.
    3. Umpire Kettleborough lol. He is unbeaten against India in ICC knockout matches. Just kidding 😂

    After Kohli's wkt , sky and jadja would have taken the sfore to 270 atleadt..bith failed miserably.. question them too..
    Terrible captaincy of not giving sirah opening spell, using him after 15th over..ask that too ??
    Once 10 overs gone, poor tactics of usinv both spinners immediately made Aussies comfortable..question that too shit heads 😮😅..
    Kohli and kl both has to soak all the pressure...One more wkt at that stage , then ipl / t20 bullies sky and jadeja about to be exposed ... They cant even play 20 overs from 30th .. imagine them coming at 20th over ..we would have been 150 all out ...
    Kohli - Rahul might have want to play till 40th with 200 for 3 and then last overs slogging would have got 280 to 300.. unfortunately kohli got out..
    Finally Rohit's worst decison of batting first in a tough wicket..worst assesment

    I don't think anything was done with the pitch to favor an Indian Victory. This is the same ground where Australia won the toss and batted first in quarter final of 2011 world cup and were bundled for 260. India went on to chase it with some difficulty. (Yuvraj inning). In the game against Pakistan too Rohit opted to bowl first. No way Rohit would have batted first it was just a mind game. Pat was lucky to win the toss I have always heard Motera Ground is difficult for batters especially during the daytime. Test matches played here are proof of nature of the pitch during the day. So, I don't think pitch made for Indian favor. Australia plays knock out really well. KL Rahul, Jadeja and SKY were not brave enough. It's not that India had poor start. If you are somewhere around 200 around 40 overs, you can always accelerate towards 300. Also, in final you need the edge of luck in your favor which India didn't have. Infact India have been unlucky in all the knockout they have lost. 2017 Fakhar Zaman out on no ball, 2019 semifinal Virat Kohli out on umpire's call. Only thing India could have better in the final was batting after Rohit's dismissal. Come on only 3 boundaries after Rohit, that many should come through edge behinds the keeper. And of course, Australia bowled better just like Zaheer khan in 2011 QF.

    India lost just because of playing surface problems and the final match was not an even contest just because of that. ICC should be banning day night matches on these types of venues or the match should be planned to finish by 7pm. Steps needed to take not to spoil cricket for marketing reasons. My thoughts are with those 130k gathered in the stadium with just 10% enjoyment they get from total match. Even on an even surface Australia might won the match but it should have been a memorable match for every one witnessing it.

Just accept the fact that Australia out bowled, our fielded, out batted and Cummins out captained and out thought the whole Indian team and their management put together. Australia lost their first 2 matches to India and South Africa. They beat them in the semi finals and the finals. Knock out blow.
