For some of us folk who can’t get the time away from the city, watching these videos you make sure brings some joy and and a certain sense of happiness watching people like you enjoying the outdoors and taking in your surroundings to the fullest extent! Keep making videos!
Yup... I'm swatting bugs that aren't here just watching. I'm all too familiar. Definitely can appreciate the effort and great video. Love fiddleheads! 😁👍
Hello from Trinidad .... great video as always ... really enjoy the Catch and Cook Ruffed Grouse ..Make more of those bird hunt catch and cook. Beautiful morning hunt...
@@TW_SlingStone The one in this video is a leatherman freestyle I almost always have with me and the other large one I tend to bring is a Böker Arbolito Esculta Micarta
yeah buddy..!!! got my fiddleheads 3 weeks ago here in Lake George, NY.... thumbs up again and have a great Holiday weekend brother..!!! * Panther Martin was a good pick at the store.....catches just about everything around here..!!! ;-)
There the best! Too bad the seasons so short, I would grab some for every meal I cook up out there! Dandelion olive oil? That sounds awesome how dose one make that? ive never tried dandelion but id like to. Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
If you go striper fishing, tie or buy some Clauser Minnows and Lefty’s Deceivers, with some chartreuse in them. There are lots of other saltwater flies, but those are the first ones to try. Where on the Maine Coast will you try? You can definitely get them further south like Penobscot bay but I haven’t heard of them as far north as Mt. Desert.
Awesome thanks for the tips. I've seen a few being pulled out up here but I'll definitely be headed south not really sure where yet but probably towards Brunswic
Great video, you really do do a wonderful job editing and producing . 1st met you down to the ice fishing seminar My daughter and I are from Bingham And hadn't seen your channel as of then but after meeting you and watching some of your videos that are really top notch great job
Great Video! That issue with your stove is a blockage in the burner tube, most likely a spider web. Just run a pipe cleaner through or give it a couple good blasts with an air compressor and you should be good
Enjoy the simple cooking on the tailgate, been doing it for years. Have always wanted to try fiddlehead ferns, never found any, too busy looking for Morels i guess, maybe next year.
MainelyOutDoors Do you have Elm trees and if so Dutch Elm disease? Found 143 this season-ALL on dying Elm’s. I’ve also found them in Pine’s before. Hope that helps your quest👍🏻
Are you right around Bangor? I recognize a lot of every area lol. It’s cool to see someone in he area making these kinds of high quality outdoor videos!
I’m always looking to explore new places so I tend to travel a lot. Although I’m based in bar harbor. Send me an email if you want to make a suggestion but don’t want the world to know as well😂
Great video, it looks pristine out there. Next time deglaze the pan with some beer! Broken or not you made the stove work lol. I use a bunch of old crap. Old Chevy, Old Zebco reel, Old Coleman stove. They're heavy and far from pretty, but they work
Haha yeah I should have done that. Same here some times part of the fun is getting everything to work 😂 but I got a new camp stove for once so I could fit it in my fishing day pack. I’ll find a way to fix the other one though clearly it’s still working somewhat
That pond was killed off years ago. It was loaded with huge white perch, which to me is the best fish filet fried or for chowder. But biologist decided brook trout was the ticket for that pond.
Hey man, another good video ! thanks for taking us along, I was wondering what you use to edit videos with? I just use iMovie and I'm looking to upgrade. thanks !
Thanks! These are all done with iMovie so far actually (iMovie and lots of time..😂) if you’re considering upgrading you could stick with the iMovie format with final cut or switch to Adobe. When I upgrade those are going to be the two options I consider not sure which yet though

I know you didn't ask and you also don't seem to be concerned about it in the first place but I thought I'd share something with you. That "I need a coffee" feeling you have where you say you "cannot function without it".. that's called withdrawal. You're experiencing caffeine (and other alkaloids in coffee) withdrawal symptoms. If you were to go a few weeks without caffeine you'd no longer experience that morning grogginess and laziness. Your energy levels will balance back out to normal. Since you didn't ask this isn't for you but anybody else who is wondering. You can save a lot of money dumping a habit and you can still consciously use caffeine in times which you deem it's beneficial to you performance or something? Like for energy and focus where it's needed. Most of us have had a lifelong dependency to this particular psychoactive drug and don't even realize it and it's altering of our consciousness and quality of life 👍🏻
@@MainelyOutDoors Sunfish can be used for bait, for catfish and bass. They also taste good smoked or fried, whole. But remember to cook it through, well done because if there is any parasites.

Hi Allen and Brenda! Thanks glad you enjoyed it! Plenty more hunting to come this season
Love the natural resources up here in Maine!! Brook Trout and Fiddleheads are the best
Definitely a hard combination to beat! Hows the bass fishing been? are they on beds yet?
Bass fishing was great up to a week ago. I don’t bed fish much. When they hit the beds I switch to pike and river fishing.
Oh good to know hopefully their a little behind up here so I can get out a few times before they bed
That's pretty awesome.
From Gardiner, just had this same meal myself tonight. Love it here.
Yesterday I had a good day on water but no luck too windy in central Maine
Hopefully the weather gets better this week
great video
Love your video I grew up in Patten ME and now in Mississippi
Thanks! Thats quite the move fishing is definitely not the same down there
MainelyOutDoors no and I hope to come back home one day
That’s a pretty pond and a pretty drive. Right on that corner where you parked your truck their used to be a rope swing.
I liked it out that way, definitely need to go explore around there more.
Their are a few nice trout ponds you can hike into in that region. Little Long, Tilden, Rainbow etc
Damn if I'd only seen this video a few days back. A guy in Skowhegan had two Loon kayaks by Old Town for sale. Only 500 for two. They went fast. LOL
Wow! Too bad thats a great deal
Another good one, appreciate you hangin' in there with the blackflys, Thanks
Oh yea, forget the kayak, get a 15' canoe, and use a single blade paddle, takes a while to master, but worth it, just my 2 cents
Yeah, I agree that would be ideal. If I can find a good deal I’ll definitely jump for the canoe over a kayak
Me and my dad have this amazing spot in the white mountains. Big brook trout everyone in there is over 10 inches. Love your vids btw keep it up!
Thanks Aidan! Awesome! Such a beautiful area I'm going to try to make a trip down that way soon.
MainelyOutDoors ya it’s awesome up here
Viewing this right before I go fishing. Maybe it’ll bring me good luck
I hope it did. Tight lines!!

Cool stuff, as always. Never tried fly fishing. We have plenty of catfish, and warmouth-bluegill-sunfish-type of fish here in Louisiana. All edible!

A gold and classic blue fox. And one of my favorite variations of the panther Martin black with yellow dots and a gold under spinner

Not far from you down around MDI

That was a sunfish but it is not a good idea, to put any sunfish back in the same water as trout. Sunfish will eat the eggs of other fish.
