I got rid of all of my vhs tapes a few months ago. I have an external hard drive with 800 movies on it. I'm set for life. I really love your channel. Keep up the good work!
Love your honesty about your tastes in film and what works for you and what doesn't. Gotta be true to yourself. Thanks for another awesome video and keep up the great work!
I love a good anti-haul. Don't get me wrong, I love physical media and have a decent collection of dvds, blu-rays, and books, but I also don't have the space to keep everything. I frequently unhaul books and movies if it's something I won't re-visit or if I upgrade to a better edition.
Such a great video to end the year. I'm so glad I'm part of this amazing cult. Your videos were such a bright spot for me with how horrible this whole year has been for me. So thanks Kylie and I can't wait for your videos next year!
Vinegar Syndrome always puts out WILD stuff...but Grandmother's House & Trauma are some of my all-time favorites from them! Stocked up a bunch on Black Friday this year at their store in CT, so excited to dive in!
If you love 80s frat/sorority movies then I recommend The House on Sorority Row, Killer Party, Sorority House Massacre, The Initiation. The Prowler, and Terror Train
So true about the difference between a collector and a curator. I've always been the latter when it comes to movies, music and books. My goal is not to have an exhaustive collection but rather an essential collection. And it's funny too that we don't think about owning a DVD or a Blu-ray in the same way as owning a film print, e.g. a reel. If someone has a movie on film in their collection, we immediately think of it as preservation (i.e. custodianship) even if on a lesser film format like Super8 or whatever. But for some reason, we don't generally think of owning a DVD or Blu-ray copy in the same way.
I agree with your video,I have been doing the same thing lately.i have been getting rid of movies that I just bought because and making room for better one's.not a bad way to start 2024.
Thank you for saving me from watching Razorback! It's considered a cult classic. That's why there is so much additional footage on the Blu Ray. It must have been a hit in video rental stores because I can remember seeing the poster hanging there forever in the probably not so good old days. 😅
I've been trimming down my collection to things I know I will want to watch more then once, I've taken 4 bags of movies to my local resellers in the last 2 weeks
Saw Razorback during my 31 days of horror and I enjoyed it for what it was! I also just recently saw Planes Trains and Automobiles and it's one of my top 10 fav comedies!
You're giving me low level anxiety every time you reach over to grab a movie next to the your Talk To Me hand. I keep worrying you're going to knock it over 😂
Hi, all the way from Scotland. Another great video. Wish I was in the States as I would've definitely taken Razorback off your hands. Been after it for a while. Love a good clearout. Just passed on over 50 blu rays/dvds this week. All the best to you and yours for 2024😀👍🔵
Your thoughts on Planes, Trains and Automobiles actually made me sad haha.. I love that film but you explained why you didn't like it and I get it.. there are a ton of beloved classic films that I just don't rock with for whatever reason, we all got those..
A good Vinegar Syndrome title: "Unmasked 25". It's a neat little spoof on slashers. The gags are nonstop but not overboard like Scary Movie. It might be up your alley if you like horror-comedies.
I love both streaming and physical media, I would never get rid of my Blu-rays and DVDs. You should get used to Physical Media and Streaming, lots of people like both Physical Media and Streaming services, but some of them like me couldn’t afford getting streaming services, because not all movies and tv shows are available for streaming services.
Last content of the Year. In with the new and out with the old. I've had a lot of the early Blu-rays that included a DVD copy. Took out the DVD's and put them in a large case and sent them to one of my daughters. I understand that some movies are maybe a good one-time watch. Most of my collection are ones that I've seen before i added it to my collection. Since physical disks came out my collection has grown. I have a house to store a lot. A Video store near me has some good sales on used media. How about two for one sale on a brown paper rapped 20 Disk package and get 40 disks for $15. About 60 to 65 %I add to my collection. The rest I give to friends, and a few are garbage. I like it when you explain your likes and dislikes. Once I watched Alien with one of my daughters and she did not like it. She said it was slow. So, I understand, some classics are just not somebody's taste today. But there is plenty out there to watch. Have a Happy New Year. I'm looking forward to great content from you in the coming year.
Hidden Figures is a hidden 💎 in the rough. Also, the Help is a fanastic movie. Emma Stone and Octavia Spencer killed their roles in that movie. Like wtf?
Planes, Trains and Automobiles is a movie I associate with Thanksgiving. Not sure, why it's marketed as a comedy though, it seems like a drama to me. John Candy, is really good at playing endearing characters, but I can see how you would be annoyed by him in that movie. From what I remember, he had lost his wife, and the annoying aspects, was really a coping mechanism due to, not having family.
It's all about curation! If I have no reason to keep a movie in my collection other than increasing the number of movies I have, it's gotta go. Feels good running a right ship, less stuff to keep track of in my house and in my mind
Nice anti-haul! Out with the trash! Haha it’s always good to clear out your collection. Especially around this time of year. You can ring in the new year with your updated collection. Only the best for you! I wish i was the same but 1. My collection is fairly small and manageable cuz I only really get the movies I love or can’t stream 2. I’m a slight hoarder lol I got space but I don’t give away a lot tbh I covet whatever physical media I get my hands on since a lot of stores are doing away with DVDs and Blu-ray’s You have any New Year’s resolutions? I don’t lol but it’s nice to set goals for the new year. This past year was something but you grew your cult to twice as strong with in the year! Cheers to you and all the other cinematic custodians of this cult and Happy New Years!
Kylie, Enjoyed your video. I have deleted some movies as well that I will not watch again and movies that I did not like. But, I love Physical Media. Looking forward to your futire videos and I want to wish you a very safe happy and healthy New Year. 2024. Take care
Yes, I loved Elizabeth Harvest! It's like a mix of classic horror and Ex Machina sort of. I liked it more than Ex Machina. I feel it's on the ladie's side more. Ex Machina is more dude focused. The color palate is so cool! Great creepy vibes. If you like Triangle or Time Crimes it's in that realm. Sorry you didn't like Planes, Trains and Automobiles Kylie. That's one of the few comedies that's stuck with me. Oh well, we all connect to different things.
You should start a real cult but use your cult leader powers for good. Also, Elizabeth Harvest is worth seeing. It's not a perfect movie by any means, but there's interesting stuff going on in it photographically, if nothing else. You'll also likely recognize the look if you've seen that movie Fresh from last year.
Ethan hawke is great in the assault on precinct 13 remake as a cop addicted to pain killers and avoiding responsibility after being shot and losing his team on a undercover drug bust I know a lot of people don't like this version but the cast are great and I think it's a good move Better than people say Just my opinion
Hi, great video! I suppose I would be custodian & hoarder rolled into one (I own most of Indicator entire LE collection and a quite a few of Vinegar Syndrome, Arrow, Severin, Deaf Crocodile. As for "Trains, Cars and Automobiles" I'm sooo 100% with you... I hated it all through, and then I felt wave after wave of cringe at the end. I cannot understand the huge following this big slab of soft & wobbly cheese of a movie has. As yourself, couldn't relate to any of the characters, John Candy's the least of them. The reasons you mention: don't see the appeal or fun in just being a PITA for another character -in fact, that very issue put me off a recent re-viewing of a classic I used to like, "Bringing up Baby", which I cannot stand now; Katharine Hepburn's full act being a total and noxious nuisance towards Cary Grant in the first 5 minutes just made me hate her character no end and put me off for the rest of the film. In fact, I am starting to realise I may not like Katharine Hepburn as much anymore, after 40-odd years of being convinced of the opposite. I wonder whether it is it possible to become allergic to an actor... Anyhow: Happy 2024! :^)
@@KylieRoseanne I carnt get rid of stuff lol I do need to , or I need a bigger house, my British humour might be lost on you , just joking, have a good new year 👍🏻📺🎥💿

I love the idea behind this video as find it super cathartic to purge parts of my collection at times.

I am much more of a fan of physical media. I only buy and keep the stuff I actually watch no filler.
This would probably be a better question for the main channel, but I may as well ask here:
What's your favorite horror movie of the year?
I dig your style
Pretty solid anti haul as always, Kylie
Razorback that was a real practical effects classic, but maybe too much on the effects for some.
The 80s and 90s and 70s and 60s and 50s And 40s and early 2000s best movies and music and shows
