I liked Dewar watching him in Minny. Excellent PK guy & the 4th line was WAY improved with Dewar on it, with Reaves & Gregor sitting. He scored 11G & had 19 points with an injured shoulder that required off-season surgery. He's tough, physical & an excellent skater. I say he's going to hit 20-30 pts this year, so not bad for 1.18M on a 'prove it' deal. Good signing.
I get that he kills penalties, but Don Cherry once said, "What good is a player if he can't hit and score?"

after this season, both Tavares and Marner will come off the books, that is massive !
I don't think Marner's going anywhere.
Why are so many people convinced that both players won't be here next year?? Marner is likely not going anywhere, unless he's traded. He's not walking. Tavares will remain a Leaf, guaranteed. He'll be paid much less, but he's not going anywhere. JT will retire in Toronto.
Tavares may come off the books but likely will be offered a smaller contract with the Leafs. Marner is going nowhere.

$5 million on your fourth line is pricy? No spending 25.6 on your first line is little pricy.

Goaltending is taken care of. Besides, who the fuck is out there available who is better than what we have??? No one. Forwards is what this team needs
