A big hello from me over in the UK. Yet another great tutorial video my friend, I've been getting into progressive alot more lately, your videos have really helped! Big thumbs up to you 👍keep the videos coming mate 🙏
Fantastic explanation - thank you so much. I primarily mix garage (very choppy mixing style) so really helpful to get some pointers on how to mix smoothly...
Excellent breakdown. Pretty much spot on of how I do it. And for the last mix I call it Complementing Rhythms. It could be a beat, melody, bass line, etc. They don't have to sound the same just complement each other. While Key is important for this type of mixing, to me Complementing Rhythms are more important or higher priority.
Thanks! I haven't really felt the need to upgrade them - these have all the features I need and use regularly, and the cost to upgrade would be a lot! I almost never have to bring them to venues to play either, as the venues always have the gear.
I really like the nexus series, being able to have the waveform in view allows me to be more precise with the mixes, in the same way the cdj 2000 is almost the same for me but I have to worry about counting the phrases 😂 Pioneer is expensive, I like what Denon is offering right now.
dude i like your progressive choice of music, can you share a few of your fav tracks and artists. i am kind of getting into progressive music these days as it works very well for open beach parties and that's in demand these days with club restrictions. that would be cool
Hello Arman! Great tutorial video, I'm into progressive house lately, your videos have helped a lot but im struggling with selecting tracks to mix for podcasts/live gigs. I was wondering if you could upload a tutorial on Track selection for progressive house please.🙏 Thanks ❤✨
@@SoundofArman Thank you so much for replying!!! Soulful House is, shall I say made of pumping baseline with strong uplifting lyrics But to give you a better idea of it's like I made this playlist for you th-cam.com/play/PLzQHGQH71BMrVUNBFnlpQ9ok-T9rIkKfV.html PS: th-cam.com/video/hoQG0gkqkOg/w-d-xo.html is probably my favorite track but so hard to mix in/out because of it's unsteady BPM PSS: I'm following many DJ teaching channels but yours is what taught the most ;-)
Great video. I used to dj over 20 years ago, looking to teach my son. I used to use pioneer cmx 5000's, a couple technics turntables and a rane mp2016 rotary mixer. Very old school equipment by today's standards. I'm impressed with your tables and how you can visually see the track. What equipment are you using and what mixer is that? I may be in the market for some new stuff soon if my son gets into it, and wondering what is out there that is good now
Please make a full video on how to eq properly to make nice transitions, most of the videos ive watched ,the 2nd track always starts with a drop of the 1st track ... Any other way to mix or make nice transitions ? 🙏 ( Progressive house mix)
Thanks for another informative tutorial Arman - really appreciate the focus on progressive house, i've not found many others at your level, dedicated to this genre on TH-cam. Question: when introducing the new song you already had the treble fully open rather than bringing it up gradually as with mids and bass; I get why it can work, but is it a technique you use more often than not?
I almost always use that technique unless the highs are very loud, then I will turn it down. I like to leave the highs there for a couple reasons: one, it serves as a marker to still check on your beat match, and two, it often sounds good to bring in fast to keep the energy level up as the old song starts to fade out.
Do you not tweak the high tops? I like how you've blended with the bass, Gona give your technique a try! I sometimes struggle with it sounding too much!
Awesome video! Super helpful, my only question, should I have both eqs and both volumes at 12 at some point when blending or should I be bringing down the mid and the low when the new song hits 12 on the east and full volume????
Great video thanks. I seem to have clipping basslines or basslines that are slightly off from time to time. Adjusting the jockey wheels doesnt really seem to matter so it's not a beatmatch problem i guess. Do I need to kill the mid's more as well or can this also be song dependent? (some match better than others maybe?)
Hernan Cattaneo is the master of mixing progressive house imo if you people want to get ideas. Great tutorial btw
Yup, agreed! He is one of the masters for sure. I had the pleasure to see him live in Toronto.
Yes! Please 🙏🏻
@@SoundofArman I partied with him in Portland and my buddy knows him personally in Buenos Aires
El Maestro
Yesssss someone that mixes Anjuna!!! I struggle finding these kinds of tutorials :(
Don’t ever use baby and buns in the same sentence unless you want the boys in blue shining a light in your window
That's awesome. Long blends are my favorite types of mixes 😊😊😊😊
Best tutorial out right now

Great tutorial man! Ever thought of upgrading your CDJ's to 2000nexus series or XDJ1000 MK2's?
Thanks! I haven't really felt the need to upgrade them - these have all the features I need and use regularly, and the cost to upgrade would be a lot! I almost never have to bring them to venues to play either, as the venues always have the gear.

Thanks so much - great insights, as usual! Do you normally use EQ or isolator?
EQ always for me
Hi would you be able to make a video about mixing Soulful House?
I love how you do EQs to do your transitions. So smooth
Thanks! I've never really played this genre, but I will look into it.
