I'm confused. Apparently you have a different definition of beginner. I learned it was "a person just starting to learn a skill". The prelude at the start of the video covers this much better than the nocturne in E flat major. And the definition of amateur is "a person who engages in a pursuit on an unpaid basis". Professionals are usually more skilled than any amateur, but that doesn't mean an amateur can't be reasonably good. I'm at your level 5, but I don't get paid for playing the piano, so I'm an amateur.

No both of those études are in my opinion the same as Ballade 1. Everyone has different opinions but I'm sure we all can agree that those pieces are very close in difficulty and are kind of in the same level. If you switch 9 and 10, Level 11 is Ballade 4 and 12 is Sonatas 2 and 3.

Look it is all about the time you put in to the instrument. You got this bro! And play the pieces you like even if they are above your current level of playing. Sorry, but no matter which way you hack it, the Eb nocturne is not a beginner's piece, and I can play, as an amateur, every piece he plays except the Torrent. His definition of a Beginner's Piece is enough to put off anyone interested in starting to learn to play.

Ballade 1 is also not as technically difficult as people think. Yes, it is musically much more difficult than torrent, but torrent played at the henle edition metronome marking (because it is often played much slower) is much harder technically than the ballade. Same goes with several other chopin etudes. I would also consider beethoven op. 2 no. 3 (all 4 movements put together) to be more technically difficult than ballade 1, having performed both in high school within a year of each other.
You play really well and the video is nice, but I have to say that, at least for the first easy pieces, you played really on time which made the pieces sound worse than you could've made them with your technical skills.
Ballade 1 and Torrent should switch. In my opinion it's harder than every single one of the études, maybe tied with Op 25 no 11. (yes i have played op 25 no 6 and find that easier.) So Torrent in 9, Ballade 1 in 10. 11 for Ballade 4, 12 for Sonatas 2 and 3.
Ballade 1 (or to be honest all of the ballades) are overrated in technical difficulty. If we're talking about actually playing the etudes at the henle metronome markings (so quarter = 176 for 10/1), then I would consider half of the chopin etudes and an upwards of a dozen beethoven sonatas to be more technically difficult than ballade 1.

For some reason I also find the Field Nocturne in Eb, which is said to have inspired Chopin's, much more difficult than Chopin's. No idea why.
