I must have watched Fiddler a million times. I never realized John Williams was involved with the score. I shouldn't be surprised at all. An incredible nugget to find for sure, this is one piece of music that always gives me chills when I hear it. Just incredible!!!
All phrases 2:02 - When it begins 2:33 - Cadenza start 3:39 - New phrase 3:53 - Slow and catchy part 4:10 - Cool transition 4:30 - Calm and Breathtaking part 4:44 - Skip-pie part 4:55 - Cool ending part
Best performance ever! The interviews reveal kindness. When an orchestra weaves into the end of a cadenza, heaven. Here, with your sustained stratospheric note + oboe, perfect! I fell in love with Gustavo when I first heard this. But don’t worry Maestro P, xo xo
A shame Issac Stern couldn’t perform this or see this, this piece may have been made for him, but Perlman makes it his own like he did with Schindler’s List!
Has anyone remember to mention my dear Ukraine of what's going on now in 2023 nope no one . The story starts in Ukraine in 1890 of where waves of emigration going to the new world. The first 20 years was hard a new place, new language but important of all freedom.
Abe's Mission Control Agreed. Stern's intonation was far more precise and his ricochet was more rhythmic and percussive where Perlman's is an uncontrolled bounce
John Williams is definitely pure genius.
In 200 years from now, he will be cited amongst biggest composers ever.
Itzhak Perlman is wonderful, my favorite violinist,i adore Him 🎻🌹
Thank you very much 🥰

Only a genius can achieve this. John Williams.

I absolutely love the sound of the horns at 5:02
Yes.
Yes! I can feel the Middle Eastern “Jewishness” and Klemzer vibes in it. I’m a American Jew.

I also love the jazzy clarinet introduction!
@@tylermoore8218 totally agree, also was in the spirit/style.
How Beautiful!! Thank you.

Bravo~ I love the Jewishness
Delicious...
Wow! Well Done!
I had to wipe my eyes during the play...
In the back of my brain I hear Hava NaGila at some points.
J'adore !
As a violinist, it always disturbs me that his fingernails are so long. Of course, even with short nails I don't come close to his brilliance.
People need the LORD.

Listen to Stern's original recording again. Perlman is more casual, almost lazy, with his interpretation of the music.
Abe's Mission Control Agreed. Stern's intonation was far more precise and his ricochet was more rhythmic and percussive where Perlman's is an uncontrolled bounce
Jacob Smith I think you’ve forgotten how old Perlman is now
I think it gives a sort of flavor that a violinist that is mostly self-trained, like the one from fiddler.
Stern played same thing. this is not really new.
do you have where I could watch it?
This music will never grow too old to me. 🙂
