    Thanks for the videos, just about to give mine a go, unsure of the exact year but looks the same as yours, just Australianised and running 240volt. Have tried mine and runs well except slides are a little bit sticky and blade and stones are too far gone but surprisingly still available to purchase. Would dearly love any form of user/maintenance manual.

    Just acquired the identical slicer that belonged to my grandmother who purchased it new back in the early 40's for restaurant use. It's seen better days like yours, but between myself and grandsons we'll get up an running again. As you did, I contacted Glode with the same results. Thanks for the video, I'm sure we will reference it.

    I was gifted yesterday an A4030 made in Sept of 41. Looks identical and no available manuals through the sources I found. Mine was stored in a garage and has lots more grime and rust but the porcelain is clean. I don’t know all the history and the motor is froze up. May be a lost cause but I’m am going to do the same and try to get it cleaned and running

    This is Great Rob. Well finally out of the cellar my wife turned over her Dad's Model 75 Series 88646 Globe and it is exactly like yours. This came out of her Grandfathers Deli in Stamford Ct then her Dad got it, Michael Amalfitano (Amalfi Racing). Thank You for the Vid's

      @@AxlesGarage Hi, I had an Oil Leak (gear case). The front of the motor retains an Oil Seal (shaft mounted rotary seal), Get it at McMaster Carr, part number 9562K44. It's like 3 bucks. No more leak and you will save your Gear (phenolic worm). Also I noticed you had to play with it to get the Motor to start. This Motor is what they call Split Phase and it has a Rocker Switch mounted in the rear housing of the motor. Carefully clean the contacts. My switch is like riveted on so I'm not messing with it. I slipped a Q-Tip between the board and the contact. Hope this helps.

    I have a Model 400 and the table does not align properly with the blade so my cuts com out thicker on one side. Do you know of an adjustment or do I have to try to bed the table to match the blade? Thanks

    I have an almost identical slicer. It was in my Great-grandparents' grocery store for many years then sat in my dad's house until he gave it to me recently. I think the model number you gave is the motor model number as my motor is an A4039 and was built in 1948. I have been trying to find out if the model number of the unit is a model 75 or 150. It's hard to know for sure as Globe seemed to vary how they painted and set up these slicers within the same model version. I am just now starting a restore on mine and it is in slightly worse shape than yours. I have found some places that carry parts if I can nail down the model. Nice thing is the 75 and 150 use many of the same parts. If you come up with a manual or any other resources please link them. I have already picked up several good ideas from this video. Thanks!

      You may be right on the model. I saw the A4020 on the tag and Google imaged it and found one or 2 on old auction sites. Googling Model 150 and 75, mine appears to be a 75. Sometimes painted black, sometimes white, and sometimes they look raw. Send me your email and I'll add you to a thread that I've been sending my family on updates. Also several more videos to come soon. It's looking real nice.

      @@AxlesGarage I just got full confirmation that mine is a 75 as well. There was some disagreement on the internet as to certain features that mine had that some say weren't on the 75s. Ed at oldhobartslicerparts.com was able to confirm it for sure.

      I am in the process of restoring my grandfather's globe.i don't have a model number only a serial number. It's very similar to the one in the video. Mine has oil ports throughout, it 1/3 hp and has an 11" blade.

      Any of you have luck with a new motor?

    Loved this video and will watch the rest soon. Mine makes a high pitch sound when first then then goes away. Do you know if all slicers have a belt to spin the blade as I’m thinking it might be that. Thank you

    • @AxlesGarage
      @AxlesGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually not a belt, but a small gearbox

    Glad I found your video. I recently aquired an A3420 in excellant condition. It came out of a local grocery store out in the country. My cousin and his dad bought it and used it for several years and I bought it last week because they didn't use it much. The serial on this one is 73328. I could read the Model number on the motor tag but not sure what the date should look like. There are a few more numbers that i'm not sure about. Would be nice to see a breakdown what you found.
    Thank you.

      Mine had a date written is some type of permanent ink on the inside of the blade and stamped on motor tag.

      I have the same model. Did you find any manual or anyone to service yours? Mine works but definitely needs to be serviced
