- hi there! today, I have a video of an unboxing of the BlackBerry Classic Q20 in white. I originally purchased this for £89.99 from the website Y2KPhones (as iirc there was a sale on this phone as the price reduced from £109.99). This is the 16GB model with 2GB RAM. The software is BlackBerry OS 10 (ver. 10.3.3.2163). This phone was originally released on December 17, 2014 and discontinued on July 15, 2016. To note, this was the last BlackBerry smartphone which included the physical keyboard.
The BlackBerry series is a nostalgic one for me; in December 2010 (when starting secondary school at 11), my parents purchased the BlackBerry Curve 8520 in black (which was the first smartphone I had). I also used the BlackBerry Curve 9360 in white; that phone was given to me by my mum in early/mid 2012 (as IIRC, I accidentally damaged the charging port on my 8520).
These phones used to be really popular; in the 2000's, celebrities, business owners and office workers would use the phone to text or send e-mails (as security features were deemed excellent). As a secondary school student in the 2010's, myself as-well as friends owned these phones and used BlackBerry Messenger frequently (which was the main instant messaging app for students back in the day).To note the Curve series was commonly used in my secondary (as it was the cheaper line in comparison to say the Bold line). I remember spending most of my time using BBM to contact friends and join groups, that and also browsing Twitter/Facebook. I also had memories of playing the preinstalled games of BrickBreaker and Word Mole (+ writing stories using DocsToGo). Unfortunately, BlackBerry was discontinued in the mid/late 2010's; I assume this was due to Apple taking over the smartphone market (as at least from personal experience in secondary school, iPhones became trendy from the mid 2010's).
This phone is a combination of the BlackBerry Bold (due to the physical keyboard style) and Curve (due to shape). There is a touchscreen included as-well as a scroller so you have two options for navigation. It was jarring to type on the keyboard (especially as it is quite small lol and it has been a while since I last used a BlackBerry which of course was 10+ years ago).
In terms of the phone's features and apps, I haven't tested much yet but IIRC, BlackBerry has shutdown their servers (therefore certain apps like BBM/BlackBerry World will no longer work). You can use Wi-Fi and browse the internet but it can be slow (then again, this phone was released in 2014).
I will probably try to see if I can install any apps at some point and perhaps do an overview/review of the phone to see if it is considered possible to use daily in 2024. That and another video testing the camera more; of course I will add this to my collection of rare phones (as for some reason I have become into collecting rare tech, it is just interesting to use haha).
well, I hope you enjoy this video! :)

I remember my mom having this exact same phone and me being jealous because she could use whatsapp while my Nokia 111 could barely run snake 3d lol. This is so cute! ✨️
Thank you!
BlackBerry was the first introduction to smartphones for me (in 2010); it is a shame they discontinued their brand of phones. I miss my BlackBerry Curve 8520 and 9360 models.
Its so beautiful and elegant 😍
heyy! i'm currently searching for a flip phone and i was wondering if any of your phones are able to make calls or text well? I often see people say that their flip phones don't receive calls or have weak signal, which is why i'm asking. sorry if this isn't the right place to ask, but thank you in advance! :3
hi, with the galaxy folders I own, I can make calls and text fine (only thing is on the black folder 2, my WhatsApp video would freeze sometimes). I haven't tested calls or text for my LG ice-cream smart flipphone or this BlackBerry yet.
@@buri.bii3 omg tysm!! ^^
@@raizaxylIf you’re looking for a regular flip phone, I got a nokia 2660 a couple of days ago and I love it, it’s a great phone if you want something minimalistic
Which one is the best blackberry or flip phones?
@TwilightQueen-x8q hi, it more or less depends on your needs - if you do prefer the keyboard then the blackberry is a better option, if you want the classic feel of a phone with basic functionality then the flip phone is better.
ironicamente no me hacia sentido una pantalla tactil con teclado qwerty peeero tampoco pasa nada
Hello, is this possible to install spotify?
@@DipaJago hi, iirc Spotify should be supported provided it works with BB10 OS
This phone will only connect to wifi?
hi, wi-fi is usable for this model - haven't tested calls/text but iirc certain apps like BlackBerry World/Messenger/Hub won't work due to the BlackBerry servers shutting down (as of 2022)
can you please share me the purchase link of this phone please please 🥺

@@Speed400Rider I purchased from y2kphones - to note I have a refurbished version
Where from this y2kphones ?
From where u buy this one ?
@@swarnalaxmipradhan8578 hi, this is from y2kphones :)
ebay
Tutorial please
can it do WhatsApp and similar browsing?
@mochisg280 hi, in terms of the browser the one I use is Chrome (which I had to install using external methods), as for messaging services I haven't fully tested them yet but I know (iirc) that you can't use BBM as the BlackBerry servers shutdown
Is it refurbished or a new one ?
@@rohitnani1177 iirc I think I have a refurbished one
Based on the plastic wrap job of the BB box I’d say we bought from the same seller. Mine was listed as factory sealed new but I also got a refurbished one. The distinction is most noticeable on the ALT key and Q key :/
Will this work without blackberry id?
@jeffreylagumbay7206 hi, you can use certain apps without a BlackBerry ID - however BlackBerry apps will not work (such as BBM or the BlackBerry World App Store) due to servers shutting down as of 2022.
@@buri.bii3 , thanks. As i had read your response, i ordered a blackberry classic right away.I 😆😆
@@buri.bii3, btw, count me as your new sub🤗🤗
Do Telegram or Whatsapp work? ❤
@ClaraMesini hi, I have managed to install Telegram but haven't tested yet. Not sure about WhatsApp - at some point I will most likely do a full review on this phone :)
Telegram work perfect, whatsapp can’t install :(
Can you still make calls on it and browse the web?
@Renalda5TV hi, iirc I think you can make calls but I haven't tested that feature yet. As for Web browsing, whilst you can access most sites, speeds are quite slow at times (considering the phone was released in 2014) - I would recommend using Google Chrome rather than the default browser.
@@buri.bii3can you please call and show it? I am waiting for one person to do it so I can press order on my cart lol
