We had a dream to find and buy again our very first Land Rover Defender. It was a white TD5 90.
We got in touch with the owners but they couldn't sell it to us as they were too attached to it.
Our friends Françoise (co-founder Euro4x4parts) and her husband Franck (owner of Trux4me) offered for us to buy one of their vehicles. We are very grateful.
We se this vehicle as an investment and will stay in France.
This week we take you to the beautiful French Pyrenees.
Join us as we travel the world overland, exploring the cultures and traditions of all the countries we visit.
In our Land Rover Defender camper which is our full time home we will take you rock climbing, hiking and exploring across all the continents on this planet.
Hi @GrizzlyNbear, Stephy and Leigh, what an exceptional portrait you made of us, it literally made tears flowing from our eyes : so much adventure together yet and so much more to share, be it in competition (next one, The Rock Trophy in April in Romania) or travelling (next one, a belated honeymoon travel, following the course of the Danube, then Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, back to Turkey, Greece, Kosovo, Macedonia, Croatia... back in Burgundy to our collection of Landys). Oh man... I've been watching you for years - I don't think I've missed one episode. I still admire you. You kept it simple, clean, realistic, and sometimes naive. I still love watching you both. It's just... life. Your life.
That is a very very nice compliment. Thank you. I think we never really chased the views or the followers. We keep making our little videos, thinking of the people who enjoy watching them and we make them for our own memories too.

Funny you mention that we did think about naming the new addition Cub. The only thing is he's 6 years older than Bear so we're not sure it suits...
Hearing ya. But as you know, here in Oz Koala's are called Bears when they're not, so why not Cub. It's a size thing, not age.

Crazy. At the same time it would have been a traffic jam of canoe on the Dordogne and we were the only one on the Ariège. That’s why we really loved it there. Less crowds.
Congratulations on your 90. Noted the comment that LR owners usually have more one, between my son and I, have a total of seven. Particularly enjoyed your French scenery.

I wonder that your new family member doesn't have stickers from 4x4parts all over. Lol. The Pyrenees are nice in summer, but difficult in winter. Have Fun with the TD5.
Hi guys! Very nice ''new'' rig! I'm realous. As for the ST MAXX, I used those for the last 6 years. After doing the Mackenzie Trail and the Dempster Highway back to back with those tires, I'm happy to report that je n'ai eu aucun problème. No punctures, barely no chips on the treads. Good choice 👍
Brilliant vehicle and great tyre choice👍. If your wheel studs appear to be too short, torque them to 175 nm instead of the usual 130 nm. That was the British Army instruction at the time of change over from the old rims.

You'll the ST Maxx. I had a set last me over 60k miles on my F-150. I like the Discoverer AT3 XLT better for road manners and noise - had a set of those last me 60k miles on my 4Runner. They did quite well on dirt roads and snow. I liked them so much I put another set on my '94 F-250.
Cracking 90 👍👍🍺. As a note (you may be aware already) the spare tyre is on the factory size rim 5.50” x 16 “ +33, the other four vehicle mounted wheels are 130/wolf style 6.5” x 16” + 20.6. The spare will be a tubed rim, the others could be either tubed or tubeless (usually stamped in the outer face of the rim near the valve stem hole ).
Edit: I wrote this before seeing the tyre bit. There is nothing wrong with putting tubes in tubeless tyres on tubed rims. Sometimes tyre shops don’t carry tubes to suit cars so tubeless rims are easier to deal with.
Tube in a tubeless tire is not a huge problem but some tires have molding edges inside that can rub holes in tubes quicker than it should.
Michelins in 7.50R16 size, like the Latitude Cross they had originally, are marked as "Tubeless, can be used with tube" and are cleaned smooth inside to avoid this kind of issue if used with tube.

The name from Françoise and Franck was Fireland but we don’t know. She told me it’s not a boat and can be renamed. We haven’t got a name yet. We need time. For now we say: The 90.

How revealing that LR collectors focus on classic Defenders, not on LR's more modern vehicles. Maybe ordinary people just can't identify with high-priced luxury vehicles.
None of today's cars will be what we know as classics. They're all the same, computers on wheels.
Good day, I am not criticizing the choice of tyre, however I have had a better experience with Michelin tyres, than Cooper tyres.

je connait très bien le st maxx le meilleur pneu au monde d’âpres les magasines spécialisé , je l'utilise sur mon grj79 et mon tacoma 2857517 et 2457616 très résistant pas bruyant et ne glisse pas sur la route surtout pour les propulsions . bonne continuation @++
