To be Honest, Linkin Park have THE MOST difficult and spoilt fanbase ever. First you guy's want another Hybrid Theory and for them to stop evolving and 'experimenting', then you GET the 'new' hybrid theory you complain about how the 'old' taste was bad, wanting them to evolve! You could say LP has a 'diverse ' fanbase. The two main groups are basically old school/ diehard fans that want the 'old' LP and those that like the 'new' LP and appreciate how they've evolved. Re listening to this nearly 5 years later and I still cant believe people thought this album wasn't good or heavy back then. This album has some amazing instrumentals, and is easily one of the bands best.
That's completely untrue, true fans like the songs; I loved their first three albums; and all their EPs but their previous two albums, plus this new one are just poor. They aren't the only bands that do it, but blindly following like sheep is not what being a true fan is.

I'm going to just leave this here. I was born in 2000. My first true acknowledgement of LP was when I tried to describe In The End to my mother so I could find the song. Since then, I've grown to love them and have been 'following' then since. Sure, I only listened to Minutes To Midnight and little bits of Hybrid Theory and Meteora, and then A Thousand Suns, but I love everything they do. I might have only recently started listening to their full older works and demos and such, and I can't say that I really like Three Band Terror, or any of the tracks from Xero(especially Rhinestone) but I don't hate them. So okay, dislike them, but if you really like the band and have been following them for a while, then you'll have known that they don't stick to just one genre. You don't have to shit all over the new stuff because it isn't rap/metal.
Lets all be sane and non hypocritical and just let them do their own thing. To be honest I think LP doesn't care too much about what the fans think. I respect them for that, they make all their decisions themselves staying uninfluenced by our wavering opinions. It takes some balls to be as big as LP is and still be completely original with their music and to stay away from the stereotypical music we expect from them.And I like the songs in this album, they aren't too shabby. Actually it's not. Listen to Chester in those than in this one. He is pretty weak and resorts to mostly auto tune. It doesn't sound clear. This weakens their heaviness.
I really don’t understand some of these fans. LP went electronic for two albums, and people hated it because they wanted the hard rock sound back. Then LP returns to the hard rock sound, and people hate it for not sounding like Hybrid Theory. LP hasn’t made a single bad album though.

People kept saying that their songs became too commercial since Minutes to Midnight, and too much electronic in Living things, now they put out this Hunting Party and came back with heavy with moderate electronic beats, but people still don't like them and kept talking about the" Old Linking Park"? To be honest, I'm glad that they keep seeking for different elements and keep creating new stuff, and now they came back to metal and with all the elements that they have tried before, they really made a good job on all these efforts. I can tell exactly what LP is missing, electronic sound. I feel that the synths and the hiphop influence is what gave their first two albums that distinct sound.

When LP came to my country, the opening act was done by a well known local rock band. Their lead singer introduced their new single and even explained that their songs ARE less angry. He said something like "they've grown older". Same for LP. As a fan for a while.. I don't mind them changing up their sound. That is just how they are making their art. (I am also in the arts). I know I won't like ALL their new songs but it doesn't diminish the respect I have for them as a band and as people. They grew up with me and I found their presence comforting. Thanks LP :)
Linkin Park is ONE of my favourite bands. I love everything they ever made. All of their albums have something different, new and they are awesome. Linkin Park are loved by their fans about who they were and still are. Everybody have the right to listen and like only certain albums. Nevertheless they don't have the right to call themselves "fans".
I'm actually starting to miss the more modern sound LP had in Living Things. It was good. I still listen to Burn It Down every now and then, and I think it is fantastic. LP isn't all about Chester's screaming and heavy sounding guitar riffs. In fact, no matter how much LP changed, I liked every single one of their singles from all of their albums.....until now. I don't care if it was too electronic either, because LP is good at making electronic sounds too (e.g. Reanimation) ...at least the singles from the past 3 albums sounded cohesive, catchy, and distinctive without trying too hard. I even thought A Light That Never Comes sounded awesome, but this? How is this awesome? Cut them some slack guys, Chester is growing old too, he can't maintain the grit in his voice like he used to as you can hear from the verses here. Too bad, it seems like all LP fans are living in the past.
Kevin Pieters A Thousand Suns was definitely very experimental, so I get why people may not like it, but Living Things was AWESOME. Castle Of Glass, Lost In The Echo, Burn It Down, Powerless, Skin To Bone, Roads Untraveled, I'll Be Gone, Lies Greed Misery, In My Remains........the whole album is pretty awesome but unfortunately all LP 'fans' care about is if or not a) chester screams, or b) heavy guitar riffs
I think it's various phases that the band is in, they went from generic emo rock to abit more varied alternative sound, then using more electronic sound and now it's a backstep slightly, just give it time, they're doing music more to how they like it, and they'll be someone somewhere who may have hunting party and their fave album, personally I love all their current released albums equally, and I'm sure I'll find some gems on my own on this one ^^

Liking Park has never been generic. Their Meteora and Hybrid Theory were soo amazing because they provided a hard core metal sound, with electronic beats and awesome guitar rifts. It was not only original but fantastic to listen to. Hopefully this album gets a bit better because their last 3 albums were unbelievably horrible. Being a fan of Linkin parks old music doesn't mean I'm living in the past. It means I love good music.

Love this song, described how the world was 9 years ago and still describes how it is today. Absolutely love The Hunting Party, so much aggressive emotion and power packed into this album, it was groundbreaking when it was released. Can't get enough of the awesome sound that makes it up there's nothing else like it, when I'm angry and I listen to songs from it I get taken away into another world where things are better and I can let go. Thank you for everything Chester God bless you keep resting in peace, can't appreciate and love your music enough Linkin Park's the best and you were the best.
This is a great song, catchy riff and some of the best rapping from Shinoda yet. It's a shame that Chester's singing is very much not on point. I felt like Chester was lacking on "Guilty All The Same", but this is just even worse. I hope Chester delivers more powerful vocals across the rest of the record.
They're going for a more raw sound for this album instead of Chester's usual polished vocals. The main reason for this (I think) is that Chester's voice is changing... for the worse. His screaming is wearing out his voice, so they're making adjustments so they can still have him screaming and yet actually survive during live shows when performing these songs.

Agreed. Part of it is, I think they layered his voice better on previous records and I think they were going for a more natural raw sound this time around, but Chester has wreaked havoc on his voice and we're hearing some of the effects of that.

The reason his vocals sounded so strong in records like Meteora is because the producers doubletracked and added effects to his voice. This album is going to be better than the last few but it would probably be really great if they would enlist some outside help.

To be Honest, Linkin Park have THE MOST difficult and spoilt fanbase ever. First you guy's want another Hybrid Theory and for them to stop evolving and 'experimenting', then you GET the 'new' hybrid theory you complain about how the 'old' taste was bad, wanting them to evolve! WTF make up your mind!
i guess the fans are just to divided so do something for one group of fans the others hate them for it.
You could say LP has a 'diverse ' fanbase. The two main groups are basically old school/ diehard fans that want the 'old' LP and those that like the 'new' LP and appreciate how they've evolved.
Honestly this album should appeal to everyone but ended up pissing off fans from both sides LOL. Personally, I'm looking forward to it and like what I'm hearing already.

I just don't understand why they ONLY make different music to what they did in Hybrid Theory and Meteora. Their 'old school fans' (including me) haven't got anything new from linkin park since 10 years.

Re listening to this nearly 5 years later and I still cant believe people thought this album wasn't good or heavy back then. This album has some amazing instrumentals, and is easily one of the bands best.

Well I've been following Linkin Park for the past 9 years, it was ok for me that they did other stuff... but I hated their two last albums so much =/
That's completely untrue, true fans like the songs; I loved their first three albums; and all their EPs but their previous two albums, plus this new one are just poor.
They aren't the only bands that do it, but blindly following like sheep is not what being a true fan is.

I was born in 2000. My first true acknowledgement of LP was when I tried to describe In The End to my mother so I could find the song. Since then, I've grown to love them and have been 'following' then since. Sure, I only listened to Minutes To Midnight and little bits of Hybrid Theory and Meteora, and then A Thousand Suns, but I love everything they do. I might have only recently started listening to their full older works and demos and such, and I can't say that I really like Three Band Terror, or any of the tracks from Xero(especially Rhinestone) but I don't hate them.
So okay, dislike them, but if you really like the band and have been following them for a while, then you'll have known that they don't stick to just one genre. You don't have to shit all over the new stuff because it isn't rap/metal.

Lets all be sane and non hypocritical and just let them do their own thing. To be honest I think LP doesn't care too much about what the fans think. I respect them for that, they make all their decisions themselves staying uninfluenced by our wavering opinions. It takes some balls to be as big as LP is and still be completely original with their music and to stay away from the stereotypical music we expect from them.And I like the songs in this album, they aren't too shabby.

I really don’t understand some of these fans. LP went electronic for two albums, and people hated it because they wanted the hard rock sound back. Then LP returns to the hard rock sound, and people hate it for not sounding like Hybrid Theory.

To be honest, I'm glad that they keep seeking for different elements and keep creating new stuff, and now they came back to metal and with all the elements that they have tried before, they really made a good job on all these efforts. I'm happy to see the "new" Linking park😊

I can tell exactly what LP is missing, electronic sound. I feel that the synths and the hiphop influence is what gave their first two albums that distinct sound.

Those who say Linkin Park changed is because they doesn't take the time to really knows the lyrics, they only hear the sound, Linking Park is continuing giving us those emotional lyrics that always hit us deep inside our minds. They already doesn´t change their scense.
I have to say, this is a pretty good album. You can definitely tell that Chester isn't screaming as hard for the most part, this song in particular, but it still sounds damn good.
@d R I just don't think it can overtake the old stuff. Their older music will always be the gold standard for me, and I never really went through a phase where I didn't listen to them, but I'll always listen to old school LP.

When LP came to my country, the opening act was done by a well known local rock band. Their lead singer introduced their new single and even explained that their songs ARE less angry. He said something like "they've grown older". Same for LP.
As a fan for a while.. I don't mind them changing up their sound. That is just how they are making their art. (I am also in the arts). I know I won't like ALL their new songs but it doesn't diminish the respect I have for them as a band and as people. They grew up with me and I found their presence comforting. Thanks LP :)

Linkin Park are loved by their fans about who they were and still are. Everybody have the right to listen and like only certain albums. I'm actually starting to miss the more modern sound LP had in Living Things. It was good. I still listen to Burn It Down every now and then, and I think it is fantastic. LP isn't all about Chester's screaming and heavy sounding guitar riffs. In fact, no matter how much LP changed, I liked every single one of their singles from all of their albums.....until now. I don't care if it was too electronic either, because LP is good at making electronic sounds too (e.g. Reanimation) ...at least the singles from the past 3 albums sounded cohesive, catchy, and distinctive without trying too hard. I even thought A Light That Never Comes sounded awesome, but this? How is this awesome? Cut them some slack guys, Chester is growing old too, he can't maintain the grit in his voice like he used to as you can hear from the verses here. Too bad, it seems like all LP fans are living in the past.

Kevin Pieters A Thousand Suns was definitely very experimental, so I get why people may not like it, but Living Things was AWESOME. Castle Of Glass, Lost In The Echo, Burn It Down, Powerless, Skin To Bone, Roads Untraveled, I'll Be Gone, Lies Greed Misery, In My Remains........the whole album is pretty awesome but unfortunately all LP 'fans' care about is if or not a) chester screams, or b) heavy guitar riffs
I think it's various phases that the band is in, they went from generic emo rock to abit more varied alternative sound, then using more electronic sound and now it's a backstep slightly, just give it time, they're doing music more to how they like it, and they'll be someone somewhere who may have hunting party and their fave album, personally I love all their current released albums equally, and I'm sure I'll find some gems on my own on this one ^^

Liking Park has never been generic. Their Meteora and Hybrid Theory were soo amazing because they provided a hard core metal sound, with electronic beats and awesome guitar rifts. It was not only original but fantastic to listen to. Hopefully this album gets a bit better because their last 3 albums were unbelievably horrible. Being a fan of Linkin parks old music doesn't mean I'm living in the past. It means I love good music.

Love this song, described how the world was 9 years ago and still describes how it is today. Absolutely love The Hunting Party, so much aggressive emotion and power packed into this album, it was groundbreaking when it was released. Can't get enough of the awesome sound that makes it up there's nothing else like it, when I'm angry and I listen to songs from it I get taken away into another world where things are better and I can let go. Thank you for everything Chester God bless you keep resting in peace, can't appreciate and love your music enough Linkin Park's the best and you were the best.
This is a great song, catchy riff and some of the best rapping from Shinoda yet.
It's a shame that Chester's singing is very much not on point. I felt like Chester was lacking on "Guilty All The Same", but this is just even worse. I hope Chester delivers more powerful vocals across the rest of the record.
They're going for a more raw sound for this album instead of Chester's usual polished vocals. The main reason for this (I think) is that Chester's voice is changing... for the worse. His screaming is wearing out his voice, so they're making adjustments so they can still have him screaming and yet actually survive during live shows when performing these songs.

Agreed. Part of it is, I think they layered his voice better on previous records and I think they were going for a more natural raw sound this time around, but Chester has wreaked havoc on his voice and we're hearing some of the effects of that.

The reason his vocals sounded so strong in records like Meteora is because the producers doubletracked and added effects to his voice. This album is going to be better than the last few but it would probably be really great if they would enlist some outside help.

This is a great song - love the guitars, vocals, lyrics, drums....I can't wait to get the new album, but i don't know why so people are complaining. very ironic how the lyrics from many of their older songs describes this fan base!

I have a feeling that everyone commenting here seems to miss the meaning of the lyrics here ( and by the way, most of LP other songs lyrics as well). This band like no other is talking ( actually out loud screaming ) about most of humans wrong actions on this planet. This is our LAST wake up call to change but most are waiting for others to do so while they themselves seem to dance on the edge of abyss.Look around and inside yourself to make a difference no matter what will come, we MUST CHANGE all our wrongs and start DO WHAT IS RIGHT on every level. Here and now ,cause no one owns tomorrow.
Listening to LP always shake me up to the core of my being. Music and lyrics go together hand in hand quite well. I see them as kind of messengers, but is anybody really aware of it and care ?
