I was just thinking that, the drums on this song were masterfully performed. The immersion/blending once the first verse kicks in as well, the drums were just flawlessly executed.
As much as I love Linkin Park, they have one of the most stubborn fanbases. When Minutes To Midnight came out (a more straightforward hard rock sound), people were mad because it wasn't rap metal. When A Thousand Suns came out (electronica/industrial album), people were mad because they "sold out" (apparently using electronics means you sold out). When Living Things came out, people were mad because it didn't have enough rock in it, and they wanted the heavy stuff back. Then The Hunting Party, their heaviest album, came out... and people were mad because it didn't sound like Hybrid Theory. This song is definitely talking about those people.
The problem isn't that their new albums don't sound like Hybrid Theory. The problem is their new albums are boring. There's no new content in the songs. As one professional music reviewer said, "their music has all the emotional range of a MMA fight." It's like they hadn't grown at all as people in the 17 years between Hybrid Theory's release and Chester's untimely death. The reason people are asking for more Hybrid Theory is because that album brought something new to the music scene, and people want that experience again.
People kept complaining about them and taking them for granted. Now they’re gone. You know guys, I think Linkin Park themselves made a song warning you guys about this...
@@deusexaethera "No new content"? Mike said that they made THP because every band on rock radio sounded like Imagine Dragons, and he wanted to make an album that would be "hunting" to bring back the spirit of rock. That's pretty "new" content to me
rakim is so underrated, it's crazy the song is called "guilty all the same" and he rymed every word with "guilty" and "same" dude basically performed a stunt pro rappers do in their prime and he is in very late phase of his career GUY'S A LEGEND
@@samuraijack3187 Its clear you dont understand..once you sell your soul youre in the hands of the elites..based off gematria they determine when your time has come..this is bc of the sacrifice they made when they signed the contract..Chester definitely didnt kill himself and theres nothing conspiracal about it..its called reading between the lines and seeing through the bs..take off the blinders and think for yourself sheep
for all the people hating on this single…. seriously wtf. They've done it. They fused punk, metal, their own sound, and feature Rakim at the same friggin time and in my opinion, it's the best thing they have EVER done. the first time i heard it i was thinking they were just trying to impress their fans. i listened to it again and slapped my self in the face. it's unbelievable how they can preserve their sound, while doing something completely unique. 10/10
its so impresive. wherever I go, people is complaining about LP. too much metal? too much electro? now too much pop?... wtf man.. let them be, let them experiment. THAT IS LP
Imagine screaming your heart out, beating the drums so hard the walls shake, strumming the guitar till the strings snap, sitting in a studio editing and producing the track to perfection, and then your so called "fans" shitting on it. I fucking love this song man it's a masterpiece
I feel like anyone who complains about this song not being "old Linkin Park" or "what Linkin Park should be making" aren't paying attention to the lyrics...
Franco Devaglia They are "correct"? You make it sound like there's a correct and an incorrect way to make music, rather than it being a matter of preference and opinion.
IceMetalPunk If you pay attention to what i said you will notice that i was talking about people saying this is not "old linkin park". I wasn't referring to the music. That being said, preference and opinion in music have limits. If i start farting and i call it good music i have news for you: ITS NOT!
Franco Devaglia All you said was that they "are correct--you didn't specify about which part. You also asked ***** "where is the great music?", making it seem as though you also thought "they" are correct about it being bad music. Also, by definition, as long as your farts have a recognizable rhythm, they could in fact be considered music. The definition of music does not require you or anyone else to enjoy it, and the definition of "good" is always subjective and never objectively right or wrong.
It's 2022, I never had a teen Linkin Park phase, I'm hearing all this stuff for the first time... Music never dies. I'm impressed and moved by this stuff today.
R.I.P Chester Bennington, this is my favorite Linkin Park song of all time, right from the guitars, Chester singing the verses and chorus, Rakim's guest verse, THAT MOTHERFUCKING SOLO, the drums, the lyrics. Everything that's in this song is amazing. Hope everyone that has a connection personal or not to Chester himself stay strong and again Rest In Peace Chester Bennington, you were an inspiration for me as a person and as a musician.
Most of you people think that this song is so 'hardcore' or gives the old 'rock' kind of feeling the way LP used to be, but listen to the lyrics wisely. This song represents sadness and anger, and the lyrics are referring to those 'LP fans' that keeps telling LP saying that 'C'mon, we want the old LP back and not albums like A Thousand Suns or Living Things'. LP has by far been my favorite band because of how they play with their music, they are constantly changing their music genre and the fact is, among so many bands out there, there aren't many that can do what LP does. Hell, I don't even know if there's any that can even do what LP does. I don't care how LP wishes to make their music, they can do whatever they want, their songs are packed with powerful lyrics and rythm, and I fully support them no matter the odds. If you really like LP, you'd do the same. And to those of you whiners who keep saying "We want the old LP back", you're all guilty all the same, only pointing your fingers, too sick to be ashamed. To the real LP supporters out there, thumbs up this post so the fake ones could see it, so that they can replay the song and truly listen to the lyrics carefully and feel ashamed of themselves.
No hate but u have too much time in your day to write Shakespeares life story, sir I give you the award for the longest time waster in history of time wasters 💯
+Xbox Guy Haha to me that wasn't even that long of a reply, I've written more on TH-cam. Didn't waste much of my time, maybe only a minute and a half. But okay.
+Richie Oon omg, i get the lyrics now! You are amaizing sir. No doubt the song's about the "fans" complaining about how they should be what they used to. Lol feel kinda mad I didn't get that sooner.
+Richie Oon I respectfully disagree. If you listen to Rakim's lyrics, he is clearly talking about men in power exploiting others, such as artists, in this instance, "'Til pop and radio and record companies killed meTry to force me to stray and obey And got the gall to say how real can real be You feel me, we'll see that green could be to blame Or greedy for the fame, TV or a name The media, the game, To me you're all the same You're guilty" He literally says who is guilty. No veiled message to the fans who scream about getting old LP back. Maybe at most something along the lines of record companies trying to please what they think the fans want, and thus applying pressure to artists, but that is far more indirect, and without actual evidence. P.S. Great song. :D
+Ed Norkvest I agree wid u. Its actually the production house that wants them to make music on what they like, what according to "them" people like nowadays. But in the end it doesn't even matter so lets leave out all the rest and enjoy the high voltage.
+Ivailo Georgiev and that's why they made this song, for all you people complaining that the new Linkin Park is shit. Linkin Park was and is amazing. If you don't like their new songs just don't listen to them. Simple as pie
+John Demetriou - My friend did not hear them 7-8 years. Accidentally stumbled upon their song of 2014 and decided to let it go .... not acknowledged them, are no longer my band :( I was their big fan of, I think I have the right to share opinion !!!
I don't get why people hate on this band. I personally feel they are very underrated today. Not only is the composition of songs in the Hunting Party sick but the lyrics are still fantastic. Not to mention that this album balances the electronic influence style of music the bands been making since after Minutes to Midnight and the really heavy metal/ hard rock style of what people like to call "Old Linkin Park".
People hate on it because it's bad. Simple, no? It's edgy, it's bland, it's cliché, and it's fans are some of, not the worst, but the most annoying. "The lyrics are still fantastic" That implies that they've had good lyrics before. I was told that Hunting Party was better than their past works, but nope. Light or heavy, the only good song the band ever made was Blackout.
+Salvatration Halex cough...ppl usually complain on lp being too commercial and messing up with genres. so the thing is, they don't give a f about the genres, but they simply bring great music that combines fun rythm ,deepneaning lyrics and and using any instruments or styles in order to say what they want to say. which, logically, made them popular, aka commercial. personally, I find lp one of rare bands that is not trying to kiss ass to this or that market/genre. anyway, as Mike said, if you don't like it don't buy it, simple as that.
+Salvatration Halex 'edgy' Ye, thats kinda Linkin Parks thing... 'bland' Heh, sure buddy, moving on... 'cliche' Your joking, right? No, no your not, are you? Oi Vey...
+Salvatration Halex blackout?! well okay. but yeah, Linkin park fans are generally really narrow minded and think Linkin park is godly and have no flaws.
One of the most underrated LP songs out there. A 6-minute return to guitar-driven heavy music featuring Rakim after a straight-up EDM collaboration and they killed it.
I love how people were screaming "WE WANT RAP ROCK BACK" or "WE WANT NU METAL BACK", and then Linkin Park featured Rakim on a song and most are like "NOO WTF I HATE RAP"

Heard an interview Chester did on the radio promoting a show in Tuscon next month. He said that this album is definatly the heaviest album they have done. Sounded like guitars and drums are the focus on this one.
Was I one of the only fans who liked Linkin Park experimenting with new sounds, I liked Minutes to Midnight, I liked A Thousand Suns, and Hunting Party was amazing. How could anyone hate this song? It's phenomenal. Rakim's verse on this puts almost all rappers to shame in 2020. what an amazing track.
Nope…A Thousand Suns is actually my favorite LP album. I like that they change things up from album to album. They were very young men when they started and now they are in their 40s. No one wants a stagnant career, including musicians.
I read a lot of comments about Linkin Park, and I can't help but think how one minded and naive a big portion of the fans are. It infuriates me that these people hate the idea of change and fail to realise that a band cannot continue to keep on producing the same sound that they did 10 years ago. Linkin Park wouldn't be Linkin Park if they hadn't have experimented with their recent sounds, hell they wouldn't be Linkin Park if they hadn't had 'begun' (so to say) the whole concept of mixing rock music with rap. Yes, Linkin Park are best known for their first hit albums in Meteora and Hybrid Theory, but that was their sound back then... times have changed now, the band has aged and their tastes have changed with it, yet a big portion of the fans continue to live in the past and hate the 'New' Linkin Park... What total bullshit, Linkin Park will always be Linkin Park, there is no 'Old' and there is no 'New', if you were a true fan you would realise this and respect and appreciate what they have done in terms of experimenting with new sounds (something that does not happen enough nowadays) instead of hating and not giving constructive criticism where due. I will forever love Linkin Park, they hold a big place in my heart, and even though I do not like every one of their songs I do give them the respect that they deserve for being who they are.
Well said. Don't get me wrong I love HT and Meteora but their songs nowadays are lyrically way ahead of what they used to be, and people can't hear that because of those nostalgia headphones. LP is so good that they got a primarily hip-hop listener (me) to branching out and enjoying other genres like rock. People don't respect how talented they are, and sorry for rambling
I couldn't agree with you more about the fans who hate on the "new" Linkin Park. They don't realize that if they didn't change their sound, then they would be like "this is getting old, can we move on?"
You are a genius my friend. LINKIN PARK WAS AMAZING 10 YEARS AGO AND IS AMAZING NOW. People who dont realize that are the biggest idiots on this planet
@@codelingmusic4559 Actually, the whole album is mid imo. I cannot call it "bad" because the lyrics are full of emotions and the production and the vocals have the standards.
Emptiness Machine reminded me of this song ❤️🩹💕🔥I’m sooooooo happy they’re back. I’m so sad about Chester forever but Emily Armstrong does justice to the band’s integrity.
why are people complaining about the greatest band of all time, nearly all of their songs are electronica with metal and rap. I don't see people who dislike them becoming multi-platinum artist or even making a band that stayed tighter for as long as they did. I wanna hear those haters singles to see if they are any better or can at least keep up with LP
Greatest band of all time. Bahahahahaha. Their first two albums are sick as fuck but they sold out a long ass time ago and havent made anything good since. I have a small amount of hope that this new album will actually be like their old shit and not a veiled attempt to trick old fans back.
altairkyle42 if selling out means using a different artistic style and approach for each album then you my friend have a shit definition of "selling out" I hate people that ask a band to return to their old style, first of all you cant ask a band what they can and cant do, secondly asking a band to return to their old style is preposterous. their free to do what they want and if it isjt accepted by nostalgia prone fans like you then im glad they always change if every album up till now sounded like hybrid theory I would've ditched this one trick pony band years ago change might not be better but it is necessary in life and for an artist
altairkyle42 True fans would never have left. True fans would've stuck by them through thick and thin. So those old fans that left can stay away for all I care because in my opinion they are not true fans.
it makes me facepalm seeing these people blindly insulting Rakim. first of all, you people have no idea who he actually is do you? he's one of the greatest New York rappers of all time, up there with Biggie and Nas. he even has a classic album to his name called "Paid In Full". secondly, Mike was originally going to do the rap verse, but he himself decided to do something different and surprise people for their comeback track. so he replaced his verse with one from Rakim.(which by the way was a dream come true for him, Rakim is one of Mike's biggest influences as a rapper) how often do you see a veteran of their genre collaborate with a New-Age band? oh yeah, Linkin Park have done it TWICE before (Jay-Z and Busta Rhymes) because they're actually respected for their talent as a modern rock band.
I'm a huge LP fan myself, but most of the fanbase has no grasp on music history. I've seen so many comments where fans claim Linkin Park invented rap rock and it makes me cringe so hard.
You say that like fans of the older Linkin Park sound that didn’t enjoy the newer stuff wouldn’t enjoy this song. Speaking as one of those fans, the metal sound is awesome.
The irony is that this album sounds more like Meteora than Living Things or ATS. So people saying the new stuff sucks don't know what they're talking about.

Great collaboration! If you are a rap fan and don't see the genius of Rakim's verse i feel bad for you. The Rhyme structure, flow and concept within it truly is incredible.
***** You misunderstand. LP evolved with their music. Living Things and Minutes To Midnight were great albums, with great songs on them. It seems that no one gives a shit about the lyrics, aslong as it's "their kind of music". LP has always had good messages behind their songs, and that's why I like them. They deviate from the norm and experiment with music. No offense meant, but Fuck You for calling it garbage.
Kaipyro67ALT "aslong as it's "their kind of music"" - Yeah, fuck people for having individual tastes and not enjoying the direction linkin park took!! People can like whatever the fuck they want. You have your reasons for liking Linkin Parks change but other people don't have too and just because they don't like it doesn't mean you can act all superior and insult someone for having the opinion it's garbage
Jack Boden Once again, someone misunderstands. I'm saying I'm tired of hearing LP fans calling the new music shit because it isn't Hybrid Theory. It's new, it's different, it has meaning to it. I was arguing with the other guy because he called the two most recent albums garbage.
I always listen to Linkin Park's songs when I'm walking home because it everytime reminds me of the good old times that i had with my dad before he left me... (he brought me to linkin park) his songs always make me strong in good or even in bad times just keep looking forward!
fngoodmusic78 Things is even if its popular I still don't think its bad. Every song has its good parts they just get over played. Sure people listen to fit in but thats not the worst thing to ever happen to music. Hell at one point the beatles were pop nonsense. I think we should just find the beauty in everything even if its manufactured because after all it's still music right?
I'm sick of the people who claim to be fans, yet all they do is criticise, if you are a true fan, you would appreciate the evolution, and respect the choice of genre. Also, if you would listen to the meaning behind the lyrics, maybe it would make more sense, so if this is what you think of their new songs as they are too much like 'pop', then you cannot call yourself a true lp fan, as the majority of people seem to be one of those who hate anything that isn't hybrid theory or chester screaming. I personally love the album one more light, and I love heavy just as much, and sadly most people just criticise all of their new work. Thank you all the lp fans who generally appreciate the evolution of linkin park and still love all of their music❤
You dont have to like all of their albums to be a true fan. Stfu with that gatekeeping bullshit. I'm a true fan but I didnt like their 2017 album at all. I'm not gonna like it just because its linkin park
"once they have a theory of how the thing works/ Everybody wants the next thing to be just like the first/ But I'm not a robot/ I'm not a monkey/ I will not dance even if the beats funky/ opposite of lazy/ far from a joke/ y'all oughta stop talkin start tryna catch up motherfucker/" Fuck those who say Linkin Park was garbage after Hybrid Theory/Meteora. Open your damn ears. #RIPChester #OneMoreLight
I don't make rap, but I learned so much about writing lyrics by studying Rakim's work; he's brilliant. Lots of double meanings and complex rhyme schemes in this song. Also, I really miss hearing Chester. Hope the people who were close to him are doing okay these days.
For the first time in a while, I can honestly say that I love this track and its overall sound. It sounds more real or raw as opposed to those overproduced tracks you hear these days.
What I love about Linkin Park songs is that no matter where I go, at one point or another I will hear someone blasting their songs, even now when there will be no more new songs you still hear their music played around the world, time won't change that, and that is what makes this band legendary, it will never die.
Linkin Park is officially back, Mike stated that the album is rock, no electronic sounds or nothing like that. Im glad Linkin Park finally decided to go back to their rock style.
The last album was an experiment. Avenged Sevenfold and AFI are doing the same thing. In different ways, yes. But music evolves. I think that last album was pretty good.
B. Roman He said "It’s loud and it’s Rock, but not in the sense of what you’ve heard before, which is more like ‘90s Hardcore-Punk-Thrash. But from time to time we do flex the beatmaking and sampling" I'm not arguing against your point just adding to what's been said
@@XtZBane Rob on the entire album is insane. This is literally his album, he even destroyed his back for this album. Only small amount of fans can appreciate it sadly.
@@jackcravford8744 I hear you bud. A Line in the Sand is probably Rob's career best. I hope the man got extra money for the backbreaking (literally) effort he put into it.

The Lyrics, Feel, Music & Everything is so top in here, I always miss you chester and Linking park without chester. love u my rock god. Thanks for be there at my tough time. RIP chester
I was skeptical on how Rakim would sound on this but damn they did a wonderful job featuring him in this..the beat change was spot on and of course Rakim killed it with his world class lyricism..awesome track
I think the reason why people are saying Mike should have rapped on this one isn't because they dislike Rakim. Rakim is fantastic and he totally rocked in this track. It's just that, this being the band's lead single from a new album, we want to hear Chester AND Mike make a grand entrance. If this was not a single and people heard it after buying the album, they'd have no problem with Rakim being on it. It's just that it would've been great hearing Mike on the debut single.
This song could end up being a bonus track on the album for all we know. Plus being a "surprise" single, I'm sure they have plans ahead for an official single to promote their album with. This is more of a fan appreciation single to tease us for future music.
James Havoc Mike freestyle/wrote it and wanted Rakim to come on the track, and a friend of his knew a friend of Rakims and could set up a talk between them so yea
George Fenske What Mike better lines then Rakim ? Sorry mate, I love everything about Linkin Park, but Rakim is from another world, these verses are just amazing, Mike couldn't do something better.
Right. My bad, I forgot that refusing to accept everything a band shits out without offering objective criticism means you're not a "true fan" Shut your self-righteous mouth you god-awful douchebag. Linkin Park was in the dirt. We all know what they're capable of, but Rick Rubin pulled them face first in to the dirt. If you liked that horrid shit then power to you, but the fact that not everyone was willing to swallow it like a bunch of shit hungry mongoloids doesn't mean they aren't fans, it just means they have taste.
My favorite linkin park song. It goes with the times. I feel the rage in the song. Rakim is like a treat he’s a legend in my city of birth. One of my all time favorite songs.
i loved meteora, and hybrid theory, all the fans did, but a real band needs evolution, i loved every album and of course there has to be that album you don´t like or albums, but its your personal opinion not what the band should do or not do
style yeh, but lyrics are absolutely shit in this song. its just a repeat of 2 phrases over and over... and this comes from a fan that liked their old stuff and the new.
I don't want to generalize too much, but I'm pretty sure 90% of people outside US, CA, UK, AU, maybe NL (basically everyone without English as their 1st language) doesn't give a shit about songs' lyrics and listens mainly for the music part.
Petr Brodík You'd be surprised. When I was growing up I listened to a lot of LP and the lyrics were pretty important because the first thing that drew me in was how they connected with my life. Their music had meaning and that's what made them so popular. There are tonnes of bands out there that have decent music but when the lyrics are retarded it doesn't quite go as far as LP has gone
I've loved this song since it dropped, Rakim is the GOAT and biggest influence of evolution in hip hop from an emcee standpoint. mad respect to LP for having him join them for this song.
I fucking love you guys. You're constantly changing your sound, and it's always great. What people don't realize is that if you did nothing but stuff that sounded like Hybrid Theory for the past 13 years, it would get boring and stale and you guys would have faded away. I love this song, and it's a nice nostalgic trip for me. I love your heavy stuff and I love your electronic rock. You guys are one of the best bands out there because you're constantly doing something different, and not just the same old shit release after release.
Wow, Rakim is a living legend for a reason. So sick LP features him on a track, his verse really summed it up. I love how he ended the verse and how it was mixed n mastered. Truly a masterpiece verse and hidden gem of a track. the message and lyrics by him and Chester are spot on and deep about the bs ppl in the industry and haters out there. Well done fellas
If you have to say: "The old LP is back" "They could have done better" "They're trying too hard now" You are not, nor were you ever, a Linkin Park fan. If you cannot accept that bands evolve to test their sound, then you don't deserve that band. This is an amazing track.
Just coming back to LP on their rebirth.... I found today this song while playing in my car so extremely powerful. LP and Chester 4ever!! LYRICS WERE PRODIGAL, SO CURRENT OF TODAY !!!!
People who keep wishing for the "Old LP" are clearly stuck in the past cause of something called "nostalgia". It's like when you see a new version of your favorite childhood cartoon, you immediately bash it for being different and new. It's pretty much the same thing. The protectiveness to protect what you loved as a kid. Cause clearly, when LP released the previous 3 albums, everyone was like "OMG its so soft. Where's the heavy stuff? Where's the rock?". And now they give the "heavy stuff" and the "rock", people are like "OMG, it's not like HT and Meteora!". Yeah, it's not like those albums. It's better in so many ways. The drums, the guitars, the guest rap by legend Rakim, the non-conventional flow of the song in the beginning and end. Heck, Brad (LP's lead guitarist) jokingly said in an interview that if possible everyone should consider this album as an alternative Hybrid Theory or a prequel to Hybrid Theory. He said this is what they would have done if they didn't go on to make Hybrid Theory.
Thank you sir for telling the truth. I'm so tired of people saying that kind of stuff. I once commented on a Hybrid theory video that I thought that Living Things was just as good and was told to not even compare the two because Living Things is trash.
Their best song. Easy. "Nah, mate. The first albums were the best". If you can give me ONE song with an instrumental like this, such a fantastic riff, or a rap that good from one of those albums, I will be eternally grateful.
Or even "keys to the kingdom". I have never understood what is so OUTSTANDING about the first two albums. definitely awesome and some of my favorites but it seems like people don't even listen to the music composition and the beauty that comes in putting all the instruments together.
I don't agree that it's Linkin Park's best song but I can definitely see what you mean. This song hits super-hard and after the two previous albums, this was more than welcome, the lyrics are great as well. It's certainly one of their best songs.
Josh Homme In a musical perspective this is their best, not even up to debate. In comparison to their other songs the guitar work is WAY more memorable.
Can we just appreciate the colossal work the drummer, Rob Bourdon, did on this album? I swear, drums are just purely insane on the Hunting Party
I was just thinking that, the drums on this song were masterfully performed. The immersion/blending once the first verse kicks in as well, the drums were just flawlessly executed.
He recorded the drums for War in one take
Yeah. You already know what it is.

Why can you not come to Atlanta for your Carnivores Tour :(
As much as I love Linkin Park, they have one of the most stubborn fanbases.
Honestly screw those "fans"
I love all his music equally how does anyone not like them all variety made them great
The problem isn't that their new albums don't sound like Hybrid Theory.

I feel like anyone who complains about this song not being "old Linkin Park" or "what Linkin Park should be making" aren't paying attention to the lyrics...
+IceMetalPunk yeah maybe they aren't paying attention to the lyrics, but they are also correct
+IceMetalPunk Honestly I love this more than anything I've heard from them for awhile.
Franco Devaglia
They are "correct"? You make it sound like there's a correct and an incorrect way to make music, rather than it being a matter of preference and opinion.
IceMetalPunk If you pay attention to what i said you will notice that i was talking about people saying this is not "old linkin park". I wasn't referring to the music. That being said, preference and opinion in music have limits. If i start farting and i call it good music i have news for you: ITS NOT!
Franco Devaglia
All you said was that they "are correct--you didn't specify about which part.
If you listen to Rakim's lyrics, he is clearly talking about men in power exploiting others, such as artists, in this instance,
"'Til pop and radio and record companies killed meTry to force me to stray and obey
And got the gall to say how real can real be
You feel me, we'll see that green could be to blame
Or greedy for the fame,
TV or a name
The media, the game,
To me you're all the same
You're guilty"
He literally says who is guilty.

+John Demetriou - My friend did not hear them 7-8 years. Accidentally stumbled upon their song of 2014 and decided to let it go .... not acknowledged them, are no longer my band :( I was their big fan of, I think I have the right to share opinion !!!
+John Demetriou yep
I don't get why people hate on this band. I personally feel they are very underrated today. Not only is the composition of songs in the Hunting Party sick but the lyrics are still fantastic. Not to mention that this album balances the electronic influence style of music the bands been making since after Minutes to Midnight and the really heavy metal/ hard rock style of what people like to call "Old Linkin Park".
People hate on it because it's bad. Simple, no? It's edgy, it's bland, it's cliché, and it's fans are some of, not the worst, but the most annoying.
"The lyrics are still fantastic"
That implies that they've had good lyrics before. I was told that Hunting Party was better than their past works, but nope. Light or heavy, the only good song the band ever made was Blackout.
+Salvatration Halex cough...ppl usually complain on lp being too commercial and messing up with genres. so the thing is, they don't give a f about the genres, but they simply bring great music that combines fun rythm ,deepneaning lyrics and and using any instruments or styles in order to say what they want to say. which, logically, made them popular, aka commercial. personally, I find lp one of rare bands that is not trying to kiss ass to this or that market/genre.
anyway, as Mike said, if you don't like it don't buy it, simple as that.
linkin park is not underrated dude.....

@@LombreChannel Rakim is to rap what Elvis was to rock. He may not have invented it, but he definitely shaped it into what it is today
Rayan Hariri Couldn't agree anymore, and don't worry, rambling is good.
Well said if more people thinks like that it would be great

Greatest band of all time. Bahahahahaha. Their first two albums are sick as fuck but they sold out a long ass time ago and havent made anything good since. I have a small amount of hope that this new album will actually be like their old shit and not a veiled attempt to trick old fans back.
lol your very funny if thats the case why do they continue to sell. if only the young listeners get to control music then music itself is dead
altairkyle42 if selling out means using a different artistic style and approach for each album then you my friend have a shit definition of "selling out"
I hate people that ask a band to return to their old style, first of all you cant ask a band what they can and cant do, secondly asking a band to return to their old style is preposterous.
their free to do what they want and if it isjt accepted by nostalgia prone fans like you then im glad they always change

it makes me facepalm seeing these people blindly insulting Rakim. first of all, you people have no idea who he actually is do you? he's one of the greatest New York rappers of all time, up there with Biggie and Nas. he even has a classic album to his name called "Paid In Full". secondly, Mike was originally going to do the rap verse, but he himself decided to do something different and surprise people for their comeback track. so he replaced his verse with one from Rakim.(which by the way was a dream come true for him, Rakim is one of Mike's biggest influences as a rapper) how often do you see a veteran of their genre collaborate with a New-Age band? oh yeah, Linkin Park have done it TWICE before (Jay-Z and Busta Rhymes) because they're actually respected for their talent as a modern rock band.
Facts bruh all facts
I'm a huge LP fan myself, but most of the fanbase has no grasp on music history. I've seen so many comments where fans claim Linkin Park invented rap rock and it makes me cringe so hard.

Why can't people just enjoy the evolution of a band? I enjoy their new stuff, just as much as the old LP.
***** You misunderstand. LP evolved with their music. Living Things and Minutes To Midnight were great albums, with great songs on them. It seems that no one gives a shit about the lyrics, aslong as it's "their kind of music". LP has always had good messages behind their songs, and that's why I like them.
(he brought me to linkin park) his songs always make me strong in good or even in bad times just keep looking forward!

thanks mate u too!
I hear 'popular' music and cringe, then I listen to this and I realize (in my opinion) that there is still hope in modern music. LINKIN PARK FTW
i mean:
Justin bieber-Baby gets over a billion views and this............
Johnny Zhang cause Justin is pop music linkin park is not
***** They all want to 'Fit in" by listening to music manufactured by the record companies.
fngoodmusic78 Things is even if its popular I still don't think its bad. Every song has its good parts they just get over played. Sure people listen to fit in but thats not the worst thing to ever happen to music. Hell at one point the beatles were pop nonsense. I think we should just find the beauty in everything even if its manufactured because after all it's still music right?
Johnny Zhang yeah but Justin beiber got that many views because so many people just wanted to dislike it
Why does everyone forget about this amazing album? I think it's definitely the best Linkin Park album since Meteora!
minutes to midnight
Drowned by hates because Linkin Park decided to derive from Hybrid Theory and Meteroa?
a thousand suns 😳
A thousand Suns was way better
A Thousand Suns was good, just a little boring and held back at moments. The Hunting Party is great but needed more ambience and electronics imo.
Favourite rock group and one of the greatest rapper, is that possible? 😍
Yup, they once did a collaboration with Eminem too!
MarvelTheThor Montages which video did they do a collab with eminem??.
+Keegan Dias Search at TH-cam for Linkin Park & Eminem. Probably it's the video that are uploaded by BLAZE AUDIO
MarvelTheThor Montages k cool thks.
+Keegan Dias And an apology because I'm not sure if it's a collaboration or a mashup.
The rawness of this album is amazing
The rapped part is simply classy.
deceiver rakim is a rap legend
Rakim's lyrics here are very straightforward, no swearing and no jargon.
Rakim is one of the few rappers even Eminem looks up to.
To me you’re all the same your guilty.....
That's the God mc
As a Linkin Park fan, I'm very ashamed I haven't heard this song before today. This is now my new favorite Linkin Park song.
I guess you're guilty all the same? 🤣
GUILTY
GUILTY!!!
Same here. Especially with Rakim on it. Wow what a hidden gem I didn’t know about
Rakim slayed this track really hard!
Saw my friend the other day and the first thing he said was, "have you heard the new Linkin Park song?!" So here I am!
OML is such a good album, people are just stupid.
actually no, every single LP album is great
Agreed. I wasn't a fan of half of Minutes to Midnight, most of A Thousand Suns, or any of One More Light, but I won't call them bad per sé.
You dont have to like all of their albums to be a true fan. Stfu with that gatekeeping bullshit. I'm a true fan but I didnt like their 2017 album at all. I'm not gonna like it just because its linkin park
Im not just a fan, im a superfan. Anything by linkin park is fucking phenomenal
DuckLord 98 I super agree with you
One of LP's most underrated tunes
"once they have a theory of how the thing works/
Everybody wants the next thing to be just like the first/
But I'm not a robot/
I'm not a monkey/
I will not dance even if the beats funky/
opposite of lazy/
far from a joke/
y'all oughta stop talkin start tryna catch up motherfucker/"
Fuck those who say Linkin Park was garbage after Hybrid Theory/Meteora. Open your damn ears.
#RIPChester #OneMoreLight
And all the people say...
a thousand suns is their best album. come at me
Mike is still making dope beats atm. They were ahead of their time and in a way, underrated, unjustified hated.
TheTriangle444 I like minutes to midnight
“Try the ketchup motherfucker”
Good shit. I like that Linkin Park changes it up with each album. They don't become stagnant like a lot of other bands.
Thanks LP for coming back to metal
I don't make rap, but I learned so much about writing lyrics by studying Rakim's work; he's brilliant. Lots of double meanings and complex rhyme schemes in this song. Also, I really miss hearing Chester. Hope the people who were close to him are doing okay these days.
That's Eminem's Idol
@@Roberto-dw5jz I thought that was redman?
@@LombreChannel Of Course he is too
@@Roberto-dw5jz not the worst idols to have :D
Well said
For the first time in a while, I can honestly say that I love this track and its overall sound. It sounds more real or raw as opposed to those overproduced tracks you hear these days.
Now THIS is the kind of music I've been waiting for Linkin Park!!!
What I love about Linkin Park songs is that no matter where I go, at one point or another I will hear someone blasting their songs, even now when there will be no more new songs you still hear their music played around the world, time won't change that, and that is what makes this band legendary, it will never die.
The drumming on this is insane, Rob killed it. In fact the whole band and Rakim all killed it
6.17.14 CAN'T FUCKING WAIT FOR THE HUNTING PARTY!!!!!!
i need this album yesterday
This song is so underrated.
@chillz
Why do people have to keep saying that? Underrated' is one of the most commonly used meaningless words in YT.
@@komischerkauz 🌹
@@komischerkauz because it's true, this song is just a masterpiece but it's rarely considered as
@@igornaimoli7321 as... what?
Linkin Park is officially back, Mike stated that the album is rock, no electronic sounds or nothing like that. Im glad Linkin Park finally decided to go back to their rock style.
Than what is mr.hahn supposed to do?
The last album was an experiment. Avenged Sevenfold and AFI are doing the same thing. In different ways, yes. But music evolves. I think that last album was pretty good.
ALL of their albums have had electronic albums in them.
Bet you think HT wasn't pop at all don't you.
B. Roman
He said "It’s loud and it’s Rock, but not in the sense of what you’ve heard before, which is more like ‘90s Hardcore-Punk-Thrash. But from time to time we do flex the beatmaking and sampling" I'm not arguing against your point just adding to what's been said
B. Roman Roman its not bullshit its the truth look it up you idiot.
One of the best rock hip-hop collaborations I've heard
Rakim is a Legend
M. Shinoda and Brad Delson did an amazing job with the guitar. This is also Rob's best drumming.
Agreed, Rob on that double pedal is insane.
@@jackcravford8744 Brad's album too. LP were never known for complex guitar parts, but they gave Brad quite a few solos on this album, and he killed them all
The Lyrics, Feel, Music & Everything is so top in here, I always miss you chester and Linking park without chester. love u my rock god. Thanks for be there at my tough time. RIP chester
I was skeptical on how Rakim would sound on this but damn they did a wonderful job featuring him in this..the beat change was spot on and of course Rakim killed it with his world class lyricism..awesome track
Raw, heavy, primal, like the good old LP days. Living Things was great but hearing them return to this sound makes me jittery its so amazing.
i don't think this is nu metal
makavelli1289 this is advanced nu metal son
Heavy-Metal xDD
makavelli1289 Didn't say it was nu metal just reminded me of older LP
Agreed. I LOVED Living Things, but hearing them go back to complete rock is pretty damn sweet.
James Havoc Haha no way! I feel like Mike comes up with much better lines than that.
So many "fans" here saying old LP is back. They never left.
THANK YOU. Just because they change their style doesn't mean they're gone.
I love your profile pic
i agree so much too your comment!!!
Linkin park is linkin park. point blank. ppl who say that were part of the band wagon and the got derailed "in the end" lol
The old Linkin Park is definitely coming back from the dead. This gives me hope for the rest of this 'heavy' claimed album
Its sad how few people actually know who Rakim is. Hands down one of the greatest rappers of all time.
I think its good, the real ist no Mainstream, simple is that.
Less know Eric B my friend lol
Rakim: "You already know who it is,"
The comments section: "Who is Rakim?"
The one who rapd in dis song
Shouvik Das RIP English tbh

Rakim Verse!! A Complete Book of Multi Syllables!
This is the first song on the album. Usually the first song sets the tone for the album, if so, The Hunting Party will be an amazing album.
The first song will be "Keys to the Kingdom"
fngoodmusic78 u are dumb, really dumb
Stefan Cavorovic No,he is right.Check the web for Hunting Party Tracklisting....
GraveDigger388 Clearly you are just as stupid... first released song.
Adam Wheeler yep this is the first realeased song....but in the album 'keys to kingdom' will be placed ahead of 'guilty all the same'....
Well if this isn't a big middle finger to record companies I don't know what is
The Rakim part is the most 'old Linkin Park' style that i heard in years, such a masterpiece
That intro is some serious boss music.
i loved meteora, and hybrid theory, all the fans did, but a real band needs evolution, i loved every album and of course there has to be that album you don´t like or albums, but its your personal opinion not what the band should do or not do

+Manuel Guerra This man tell the truth !
+sniperloic production thanks both, I'm just 22 years old, but my first introduction to music was this awesome band
Same, it's really the first band i actually listened to when I was little. I'd listen to Hybrid Theory and Meteora all the time.
+forgotten games yeah!! me too, greetings from Mexico
OMFG Linkin Park is going back to there roots!! I'm so DAMN STOKED!!!!!!! GOD!!!
style yeh, but lyrics are absolutely shit in this song. its just a repeat of 2 phrases over and over... and this comes from a fan that liked their old stuff and the new.
I agree the lyrics ARE shit, but the style is what I'm talking about. I'm nonetheless really stoked for this record!
who listens to lyrics anyway
LP + Rakim… now that’s a legendary duo!
The beginning sounds like you just entered a boss battle on final fantasy tbh
it was made for a video game
Lol
shane insane I think it was made for transformers
When you're a Cloud main in Ultimate and you see a Sephiroth main as your opponent and this music starts playing.
This is one step in the right way.
It's One Step Closer in the right direction.
Paul Senseney one step closer :3

If you have to say:
"The old LP is back"
"They could have done better"
"They're trying too hard now"
You are not, nor were you ever, a Linkin Park fan. If you cannot accept that bands evolve to test their sound, then you don't deserve that band. This is an amazing track.
i liked linkin park no matter what kind of music they make
CariagaXIII they make all kinds
Yes, but i think 'Hybrid Theory' so Nu-Metal was the best :3
+Bee Snaker Yes the Nu Metal era was amazing
Danny i think 'Songs from the Underground', 'Meteora' and 'Hybrid Theory' are the best ^^
+Danny brother its all amazing. They can make any sound sound great. Its amazing
*"You want to point your finger but there's no one else to blame!"* 🔥
Love that line!! ✊
Rakim was a nice blend too! 🙌
They sang that lyric at the exact same time I read your comment
@@ethenkraft6570 epic timing
Their best song. Easy. "Nah, mate. The first albums were the best". If you can give me ONE song with an instrumental like this, such a fantastic riff, or a rap that good from one of those albums, I will be eternally grateful.
Or even "keys to the kingdom". I have never understood what is so OUTSTANDING about the first two albums. definitely awesome and some of my favorites but it seems like people don't even listen to the music composition and the beauty that comes in putting all the instruments together.
+Luffy Joke Central they are just like "it was best!" "How?" "LALALALALA NOT LISTENING!!!"
Come and explain please.
I don't agree that it's Linkin Park's best song but I can definitely see what you mean. This song hits super-hard and after the two previous albums, this was more than welcome, the lyrics are great as well. It's certainly one of their best songs.
this is their shittiest song ever , sounds like me strumming a electric guitar for the first time when i was 13
Josh Homme In a musical perspective this is their best, not even up to debate. In comparison to their other songs the guitar work is WAY more memorable.
Best Linkin Park song
