    This one was nice and simple, sticking back down an OEM display on a Apple watch, i dont know why it was separating but the B5000 Glue sorted it back out

    Thank you so much for sharing this video. I had the same issue with my Apple Watch. The screen was still working perfectly, it just partially came off. Now I was not able to get the exact same one that you mentioned, but I got the E6000 in the craft section at Walmart. After I applied it, I put a box of perfume on top of the watch to keep it in place for a few hours. Excess glue is easy to clean off with alcohol.

    When it breaks away its because the battery is leaking inside the plastic that surrounds it and it balloons out and forces the screen off . Don't just glue it back together. While the screen is off replace the battery then put it back together .

      I was told apple may repair it for free if the cause was a battery issue - probably worth checking first.
      My series 1 got a knock and the screen popped off, maybe there was an underlying battery issue but nothing was found.

  • @ForburyLion
    @ForburyLion 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Same thing happened to my series 1 apple watch, the price apple quoted to repair it was about £20 less than the cost of a newer model so I declined the repair. I'm going to have a go at repairing it myself now I've watched the video as I already have a new series 7.
    However, if your screen has popped off because the battery has expanded you might be eligible for a free repair with apple.

    Watching this video and similar instructions elsewhere made me think the display is being glued to the aluminum body. On my watch, when display separated I see an interstitial layer between the body and display: the frame of the force touch sensor. Would I apply the glue to each side of the force touch sensor because it sits between the display and body? It also separated from both the body and display.

      Thank you for this question. I too have that gasket and am not sure which side to glue. I see no one replied. Can you please share what you ended up doing to repair it? This video glues. I see others that use an adhesive frame-like strip (which they still don't explain what to do with that middle interstitial layer. Would love your input on all. Thanks!

    • @emirbukva5393
      @emirbukva5393 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kari-karislinedancing6146 I think the video assumed the touch sensor frame stayed glued down to watch frame. I ended up applying the adhesive strip to both sides. That kept the display securely attached but my fix ultimately didn’t work for other reasons (I think I likely damaged connectors or cables in the process). Good luck!

    • @kari-karislinedancing6146
      @kari-karislinedancing6146 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@emirbukva5393 Thanks so much for your reply and ideas. I think you may be right about the frame layer having stayed down for others and that both the frame and the top each probably need separate gluing. I like the glue idea because it seems I would not have to take my watch apart beforehand and therefore I'd be less likely to damage other parts. I do however worry that if I do glue it and it has other problems that I may not be able to take it apart again. I'm sorry your repair didn't go as planned but hope that if you got a new watch you like it even more 👍🏽 😉

    Be aware that over time battery expansion may cause this issue. The battery can expand and push the face off the adhesive gasket. Contact Apple regarding any potential battery issues with the series watch you own.
