Going south up north, Autumn trip 北の南へ, 紅葉の旅

On October 1, we went to Whittier in the southern Alaska Peninsula to eat seafood. In the place where we live now, the autumn leaves are over and the leaves are completely decidued, but I was wondering about the autumn colors of south are still there or not. And the autumn leaves were in full bloom, and the cotton wood trees were beautifully colored golden. I was just being overwhelmed by the scenery of the seaside highway called Turnagain Arm.
From the road to Whittier, we saw the lake, so we parked and went to check it out. We encoutered the most beatiful scenery like a dream, the golden autumn leaves, the beautiful emerald lake, and a glacier peeking into the towering mountain behind it, and it was reflected on the surface of the lake. I was attracted to its beauty for a while.
There was a tunnel on the road to Whittier, and before and after that, every time I looked up, the glacier appeared and it felt like I was lost in a different dimension space.
10月1日、南のアラスカ半島にあるWhittierにシーフードを食べに行こうと出かけました。今、住んでいるところは、紅葉は終わり、すっかり落葉しているのですが、南の方はどうなのかなと思っていたら、紅葉真っ盛りで、コットンウッドの木々が見事にゴールデンに色付いていました。ターナゲンアームと呼ばれる海沿いのハイウェイの景色に、ただただ圧倒されながら走っていました。
　Whittierに向かう途中の道路から、湖が見えると思って行ってみると、そこには、黄金の紅葉、エメラルドの美しい湖と後ろにそびえ立つ山には氷河が顔をのぞかせていて、湖面にその姿が映っているという、なんとも夢のような風景に出あいました。しばらく、その美しさに惹き込まれていました。
　Whittierまでの道には、トンネルがあり、その前後には、顔を上げる度に、氷河が姿を見せ、異次元空間に迷い込んだみたいな不思議な感覚になりました。
