So happy to see a new tutorial from you Vanessa! Although I like the tips on the WIP Wednesday programs, I really miss some new, easy projects to tackle. Thanks for sharing this new one with us!

Why not make the body wider and fold it so there aren’t two seams?

    Thank you.
But you talk a little too fast. I have to stop video and rewind. This was confusing to me. I’m new at sewing.
I understand the concept but too fast to follow. If you would
Put all measurements and steps in written summary so it can be printed
    Thank you.

How did you come up with the measurement of 35 inches for the body of the pillowcase? My pillows are a bit bigger 14x19. So I add 2 inches to 14 and cut the width 16 inches, but what would the length be? Should I add 17 inches, like you did? Sorry for my ignorance!

I have been making a lot of pillowcases from a different instructor. This one is far superior. Wish i had found it sooner. Thanks!

any chance you could do this with a flap to cover the pillow and to keep it from falling out?

Hi Vanessa, For the pillow case projects would you prewash the fabric? Thanks

    • @TheCraftyGemini
      @TheCraftyGemini  ปีที่แล้ว

You can if you want too. I don’t because the quality fabrics only shrink 1-3% and there is more than enough room in the pillowcase to allow for that without affecting the fit of the pillow form inside. Hope that helps!

What a fantastic idea! I hadn't thought about making one that I could use on long flights between my home country USA and my resident country Greenland! I spend a lot of hours in the air when I go home to see my adult children and the grands!! Thank you so much for sharing this really cool idea!! ;) :) :) :)

Hi Vanessa good afternoo. I'm new to your channel and especially sewing. Thanks for sharing the video looks easy to do. A friend recommended your channel and how good you are at explaining. I'll appreciate it if it's not too much trouble I would like to know if you can make a pattern for this pillow I bought it at Walmart where I live in Ohio. Measurements are 12"×16"
    Have a blessing day

Great tutorial. I made two per your directions, but I think next time, I’ll skip the accent strip. It was so hard to sew over that bulk.

Wonderful! I've made pillowcases before and although I know about French seams I've never done on a case. My grandsons are going on a road trip next month so I am inspired to make them a treat. I ordered the forms (yep, using your link!) and will start making the cases later today. Thanks for sharing this tutorial!

Good tutorial, Thanks Vanessa. This method of cutting the length in 1 piece makes a nice bottom/end to the case, and I like doing the cuff and accent in 2 even widths.

I love this tutorial but being as the video is over 12 minutes and you don't show the cutting of the fabric, don't show us most of the sewing, or cutting all four corners, I don't understand how you think it could be just a 10 minute project...😂. Realistically for most of us this is at least a half an hour project if not 45 minutes from start to finish.
