I forgot you can’t normally place elevators and use it in the sims 4. I have this mod that lets me use them, highly recommend it.
What's the name of the mod? I've been looking for something like that for a while and I haven't found a functional one 😅

And like, look how easy this was! It would literally be so easy to just make this an apartment lot type. It can't possibly be that difficult to code into the game. If they made the university dorms and high schools customizable, they totally can for us to make custom apartments.

Sims 2 really did have the best apartment system. Completely-customizable apartment lots, up to 4 playable households in one lot (the rest will have unplayable townies live in them), it was the best.
sims 2 was really the superior game. it was all in the details.

I say this all the time but I wish the sims team added the apartment lot type so you could make your own apartments. It was such a missed opportunity with city living.

I seriously cannot stand when people use tall wall height for anything that’s not a grand castle or a fancy public lot. Medium I typically use for mansions or Victorian homes, short height is for EVERYTHING ELSE. Why tf is a cheap apartment tall wall height? the math is not mathing 🤦🏾♀️
apartments really could do with a refresh, we cant even put them on the gallery. let us move and change windows/front door, change the wall height, etc. even if they added an apartment lot type! it would be a dreaaam
It would be interesting to see an apartment build with businesses on the ground floor. Like a restaurant, childcare, grocery store and/or a bookstore.

I turned one into a cafe/ with 3 Apartments with a pool and laundry and recreation backyard just for the roommates but I wish we had our own apartment lot and tools

The elevator thing is so annoying, usually I just sort of draw inspiration from The Big Bang Theory and put stairs around the elevator and pretend it’s broken 😂
It’s hard to explain how REALISTIC and GOOD this build looks. Where I’m from new buildings are built in that same style. I’m so exited for the new expansion!

I really hope in The Sims 5 that we get the ability to zone areas- like we can have a lot with we can zone some of it as a retail store, a section as a cafe, and a section as residential. I would love to be able to create apartments above stores and have sims actually have it as their primary address. It would allow us to build our own apartment blocks, and we could separate the areas using this sort of method. Building custom apartments are always so fun! Thoroughly enjoyed this video!

She’s built another custom apartment building before that uses just the base game!
if you're looking for a cheaper way to buy those packs, i use CDKeys which sells the codes for packs cheaper than EA and i've never had any problem with it :)
The packs with the apartments don'tet you build custom apartments either, you can only build and furnish within pre-existing buildings. So, not that gret

Hear me out! Custom "elevator" that's just a room with a ladder. It looks like an elevator from the outside but inside you just take the ladder. I might look into this!

An apartment lot type I think would be easy to implement. It still wouldn't be like San Myshuno at all but they could like have some simple math tied to the bills, so like when you're building the lot in the menu you would select how many apartments there are, and divide the bills by that number. So if your bills were for example $800, but you're living on an apartment lot with 4 apartments, you would only have to pay $200. It'd also work well for duplexes and townhouses, or even just regular houses with roommates, since the roommates are kind of sort of freeloaders who occasionally give you their pocket change and call it rent.
They could also like you know how on a scale you can like place like a bowl or something on it, and then set it to zero so it only measures anything you add after that point? A system where you could set the lot cost to zero after building the apartment, and the other apartments you aren't using would work well too.
Or it couldn't be easy, because I don't know how coding games works lol.

I think what would he hardest with this is being able to have multiple households on one lot because if we couldn’t do that with apartment buildings then it would be dumb
@@alicynsenior4952 I don't think it's completely dumb since people are playing in these fake apartments currently and just pretending they're real, but it is dumb that EA couldn't just implement an apartment building feature in the first place which restricted apartments to only two worlds (at first we thought San Myshuno would be the only apartment world). Either way it's just a simple idea to make people's gameplay a little easier, it'd probably work better as a mod rather than an actual implementation to the game anyways since EA would likely get backlash for not just letting us build apartments in the first place. :D

1:45 this reminds me of when my sim family lived in a 2 story house, and the bathrooms on both floors had “kitchen counters” to fit sinks on, and the AMOUNT of times my sims cooked on the BATHROOM COUNTERS 💀💀💀💀
If you like furnishing small apartments so much, you should try building a Japanese studio apartment. They’re so small it’s insane and I think it would be fun
i've dowloaded one where the creator squeezed the micro apartment between 2 debug buildings, realistic AF and very well done i loved it even tho it was so small
I feel like it would be so good in the sims to have an Apartment with Get to work and you can have your own apartment and NPC's can live there!

I live in a neighborhood with a lot of buildings and I wish that my apartment building had at least one small community room. Also, the mailboxes are on the outside irl bc mail people can't come in. And every apartment floor tends to be the same exactly although people do get to pick their own floor so every floor is different. But I'm in another country and I guess I don't live in Miami ☹️

I was watching this video and all of these ideas popped up in my head!! Maybe a couple that wants to start a family moves in, a single person, a single parent and their child... So many possibilities! (They'd all be in the same household, so I would have to be mindful of the 8 person limit, but I digress.)

We have four buildings. A pool, library, two gyms and two viewing rooms. Our complex is insane. (We live here sort of by default it’s a whole story, we feel like we live in a hotel sometimes) I get the luxury vibe!! ❤❤❤
I'm currently furnishing them as a rainbow solid color challenge! Each apartment is themed after a different color of the rainbow!

"You can't build apartments in the sims." I know she meant The Sims 4 but I can't help but think about The Sims 2 Apartment Life because it literally lets you do just that and have up to four families live there.
This looks absolutely fantastic!! The way you used platforms is very creative, I wanna steal some ideas myself. I also love the decorative Eco Lifestyle poles (?) at 3:57 - it makes the building look more attractive!! I also love how you split the place so it's not a copy-paste through all 4 floors. Don't worry about the packs - we have jobs for a reason. At least the place looks good with them!! C:

There's actually a trick you can use to place multiple elevators on the same lot, by simply using a room with the elevator from the Gallery.
I think it's even functional, meaning Sims will use them to get to other elevators on the lot, although they're sadly not animated and Sims will simply phase in and out.
And it doesn't check whether each elevator is lined up into a single column either, so make sure there's only one elevator on each floor, each of them lined up with each other.

Well, I think it's pretty realistic since there are many apartments where you need to walk up four floors. Theres still so many without lifts. And in my student apartment I need to walk across the whole campus to get to the laundry room. So in conclusion, your build is perfect ^^

A lot of apts in NY have medium to tall walls. The tall walls are usually reserved for high end apts. So the wall heights in San Myshuno look normal to me. Same goes for the size.

I'm experimenting with whether my sim can make a living just as a boarding house landlord. From what I've seen roomies pay about 1/3 of the lot's rent. I've made a 'boarding house' lot with 6 'rentals', one master br (for the sim I play), and a bunch of communal activity rooms (pool, gym, TV etc).
Roomies definitely have troubles managing their needs and threaten to move out if they're not met. However, they do leave the lot at least once per day and refresh (most?) their needs and come back with a plate of food. I *suspect* can can have them manage their need better through having them all in a club with the right activities.
