One of the few artists that understands that dialogue with unlikeminded people is the avenue to change. Refreshing.

Amy Ray is so inspiring. I watch this talk every time I feel hopeless about what’s going on in our country.

Amy Ray has always been so thoughtful and empathetic in her presentation and her music...which is why we can relate so well. Nevermind the fact that her solo work and her work with Emily as Indigo Girls has survived decades of political & environmental changes. Great interview!

Loved hearing her speak of that "conservative period" of her life, in school. I went through the same thing. I didn't know that she went through that too, haha. God Bless Amy!

I was lucky enough to hear Amy Ray's words and songs a couple of weeks ago in Portland, Oregon. She was inspiring and energizing. My favorite song was her personal story of self-discovery about things that were going on in the South when she was a young girl. Bad thingst that she didn't know about then and has been learning about as an adult.. Her pain at not realizing the crap that was going on back then was balanced by her optimism about the future. The song made me cry but also gave this old man hope for the future - especially if Amy is able to keep pointing the way. th-cam.com/video/6NrctCGvwoA/w-d-xo.html

The Soul behind the music...it is sooo....good to hear about the activism intertwined in the Amy Ray and Indigo Girls music...we just enjoyed their musical gifts in Concert in Salina, Kansas this weekend. After college in 1987 I got a mix tape that a new lesbian, Charity, made me. I have been a sing all the lyrics fan ever since

I met Amy a few years ago after a gig here in the U.K., she was incredibly generous and humble and authentic and I’ve certainly been inspired by Amy over the years to be braver in my politics and bigger in my activism and just braver in my own walk through life as a gay woman

The only reason why the duo of which she is a part isn't Simon and Garfunkel big is prejudice. 1990s sexism and homophobia. They exceed so many artists who are gazillionaires today and the greats of yesterday

I can't wholly disagree. I'm a conservative male, tradition-bounf, Indigo Girls fan since '89. Huge Simon and Garfunkel. It makes no sense that Amy and Emily aren't recognized for their sheer brilliance...
