Thank you so much for taking the time to show how this is done. I just bought an AirMax and decided it needs a regulator. Just bought a regulator from Huma-Air and now I feel a lot more confident about what needs to be done and the best approach. These videos are priceless. Much like you, I read the instructions but a video makes it all clear.
Thank you for your time and effort. I requested showing this part cuz I contacted Huma few month ago and they said we will offer it in half the price since I am the first one to contact them about Airmax. However, when I told them about the two air tubes; they said we are not interested cuz it is impossible to fit it... they quit easily & here you are explaining it in simple steps. Thanks again
Love the detail in your videos! Thank you very much. I just ordered a .22 cal Flashpup and I'm gonna install a regulator. Would you recommend a .25 Cal regulator, due to it's larger plenum? Also, what velocity are you getting with 150 bar and with what pellet? Sorry to ask too much! Blessings. Thanks in advance!
It need to be able to vent ,you can as directions suggestions to leave it just loose enough for air to escape... It will not function properly if not having the threads slotted or left loose, wich defeats the purpose of having a regulator... slotting the threads has no I'll effect regulated or not regulated..
What is the purpose for filing down a notch in the tread area with a triangle file , I didn't have to that when I installed a huma regulator in my bullboss 25cal , nice video
But you did back off the valve to a paper thin air gap correct?? because that is what they recommend to equalize out the pressure for it to operate correctly... I would read the directions they sent you again , you may have enough space for air to sneak through if you tightened the valve fully but it is a preventative measure, all valves need Atmospheric pressure to operate correctly including lane and any other regulators installed...

I bought the AirMax but returned it due to leaking and exchange for the Hercules Bully. I have added an Altaros bottle regulator that works great. I am getting 90 shots per fill and 940fps with 16gr pellets. Could you use the Altaros bottle regulator on the Airmax and would the secondary air chamber just act like a really big regulator plenum? The added benefit is I no longer use the fill probe but get a male foster fill fitting on the Altaros regulator.
Any thoughts to this comment? My 90 spf averaging 28 ft/Lbs. in the Bully. I have the hammer tension spring backed out to take all the preload off the spring which also helps to eliminate air loss from hammer bounce.
The first way of venting is to leave the tube with a paper gap tightness, second and best way is to Grove and notch the tube and no hame will come by doing this...Technically they are correct but notching is easy and the best way...
Wont hold air when I try to fill it either....could filling it up with a young heng compressor blow or heat the o ring too much if I dont give it breaks and just fill it up completly in one felt swoop? Or leaving it with air overnight? How do you even degas this gun? (Fairly new to pcp)
You have two set screws on the receiver in line with the barrel, lay the gun down and remove only one and see if it is lined up with the Mark's on the barrel to make sure the barrel is not turning when you tightened the nut for the QE shroud.. Did you remove the shroud before and what gun ???
The hatsan airmax .22 The barrel didnt move it's just the shroud that's rotating on the barrel it seems....how does the shroud come off? Does it screw?

vent hole in the regulator must be facing up once installed . He put it facing down .This causes all kinds of problems . The instructions are clear vent hole in the regulator must be pointed up to allow the air to excape . If its installed down air gets trapped in the upper part of the regulator .

AIRGUNNERS EDGE Yes I did , haven't had any problems , I beleave I am going to V out the treads I think that is better way , thank you !
I ask huma what kind of regulator to put in my Hatsan airmax 22cal. They answered that they not recommended because airmax have two bottles?!? 🤔
That airmax has 1 bottle and 1 tube , the reg goes in the tube wich is the same reg as my AT44-QE and works great !!!
Which electric compressor are you using, what vendor did you purchase it from and are you happy with its performance and longevity?
Young Hong pcp 4500 compressor, got it off e-bay for $230 US... works great for my needs ,owned about 6 months no issues..

Why do you have to notch the threads and tube?? Huma website says no air tube mods required.

@@airgunnersedge4061 Ok yeah that way you can be sure it’s venting and seems like a pretty quick thing to do. Thanks man.
Please tell me u chronigraphed it befor installing this
1030 fps with JSB 18gr
You have to watch the other video to under stand why I couldn't do a full test on the chrony and find the bell curve as I normally do with any gun...
Thanks man been trying to find actual fps to use till I get a chrono to borrow
Hey have u had any issue with this gun? Mine just fired and all the air blew out and now it wont hold air
Sounds like the valve got stuck open, maybe a piece of debris....
I would take the pressure to bite of the gun try filling it with their in pressing on the popet valve to see if it will seal..
Also try cocking the gun, pulling the trigger and cocking the gun again then try filling with air...

You do have a filter on the compressor correct, just wondering if something went into the gun
Hey...I tried to loosen the qe off and it doesnt seem like its coming g off but it also doesnt feel tight....what did I do?
The nut is 14mm with a long extension, counter clockwise...
The guns completly assembled but the qe shroud seems super loose but when I turn it it doesnt seem to tighten

I'll make a video when I get home on how to do it...
The hatsan airmax .22

Does it apply to hatsan nova star too
I hope so but am not sure yet, I plan on getting the Novastar in .25..

Would installing the bottle regulator be sufficient enough? Or do you really need the interior one? Would you fill same way or through the bottle reg?
