It’s so amazing that you do this! I’m an aspiring actress (and by that I mean I literally have been researching every possible way to get started)! I’m past college, but I’m determined to land some roles even as an extra to grow my resume and hopefully appear as a 1 time actor on shows like The Resident or Grey’s Anatomy, and on to supporting & lead roles! Seriously loving your videos! Thank you!
I'm in Indianapolis and this video is giving me hope cause I still love acting and I always feel I'm just stuck out here with no chance of getting into the field.
Awww chris agos, I heard you years ago on leigh fosters podcast and loved your episode and i literally stumbled on your video. So good to hear from you again! Maybe i will stop procrastinating and finally start acting!
Hello Chris, I attend acting studio Chicago and I love it there I just completed my level one and getting ready to start level two. I haven’t been able to go to university so I extremely grateful for the studio.
@@Mustoofunny ah- thank you, but I decided to pursue Chemistry and Research instead and I absolutely love it. Acting was fun for a while but my calling is in the field of STEM
Thank you!! I just bought your book. I've been taking Meisner classes and I'm ready to do my headshots. I thought headshots are based off what you can play. I asked my acting teacher what type I am and he said type casting isn't like it use to be. Just to wear what I feel comfortable in and to look exactly like the headshot. Am I supposed to meet with the headshot photographer and have him tell me? If I'm paying $500 I want to get my wadrobe right and know what to audition for. 😭
Hi Kait, thanks for the book purchase. Everyone has a sweet spot in terms of casting, and it comes from a combination of your age, gender, look and demeanor on tape, and the market you're in. If you look and behave like a varsity cheerleader, someone else is going to get the emo goth girl roles. That's just how it is until you're well known enough that you're trusted to play everything. What your teacher said about wardrobe isn't bad advice. It's true you should wear what makes you comfy and just be you in the pics. Your photog might have suggestions, too. Listen to them if you trust your photog. They know what looks good and will probably think of things you might not think of.
I got a question. I need a full time job to pay my rent and expenses properly. How can I balance that with acting cuz I know most generally have part time.
@@ChrisAgosActor ok thank you also I do got a question about school if I were a teen actor and I went to go do films and be in extras in movies what would I do about school since I'm still a teen
@@og0three722 Often background work will happen during school hours, so if you want to do it, you have to keep that in mind. Maybe just focus on doing that kind of work in the summer when you're off school.
Oh wow, just saw your video and that's exactly what I was thinking about the last whole year, I would be delightful if you could give me a tip. I recently moved to Toronto, I always wanted to be an actor but my anxiety and fear of people took a lot of my years, now I'm 26 and I crave to be on stage, I have an accent (since English is my 3rd language),I don't have any particular talent, I'm not good at telling stories or jokes and my income doesn't allow me to get a coach or anything. I just don't know where to start. If you could give me an advice I would be extremely happy.
Well I can't really answer here, but I would say that the first thing would be to try and get past the anxiety, which it sounds like you're doing. After that, you need some training, which can come in the form of youtube vids if you're short on cash. There are tons of vids with celebs talking about how they approach acting. Then I'd try to register with a background casting company. In your area there are things shooting that need background performers and this is a good way to get on a set, see if you like it. Good luck!
Ok Christina Ricci, had no training, will Smith, tom cruise, that other fool Johnny Depp didn't train and still made it, and that's something I throw at any casting director, or agent folks I named no training and still made it anyway.
You have a great speaking voice. You sound like a voiceover actor. Great job.
Thanks for the kind words! I do a lot of voice over. :)
He is!
I'm in the Midwest Kansas city and I'm getting started on my acting
Sweet! Have fun!

Hi this is 2 year old video.....can u make new ones ?
LOL yeah it's been a minute, huh? Thanks for watching and for the reminder.
What if I wanna be a teen actor I wanna take classes and learn but I still wanna do acting as a teen
Many of these rules/suggestions apply to both adults also apply to teens, except that teens usually prioritize school before acting.

I live in Chicago, is there any photographer around here , you would like to recommend for head shots?
Check out Popio Stumpf heasdhots. Good luck!
I live in the UK, would this still work? I have no experience and I'm only 17, what should I do?
These sites are mainly used in the US. Perhaps a google search for their UK counterparts would help?
starnow is a good site for uk acors

Is it good that my acting coach is a casting director?
It's certainly not bad.
I mean I think acting would be fun. Just gotta devolop a better voice
I'm 53, is it too late? You have a great voice by the way.
Not too late at all. And thank you!
But I live in California
