good stuff! I'm acting in my first feature for my friend's film (so it's a bit different) but having been crew side, it's definitely solid advice for anyone.
your voice is AMAZING the timber and tone are excellent. Its almost hypnotic. Is this something that came naturally to you or something you worked on? Do you have any exercises or practices you do to ensure the quality of your voice? On a totally unrelated note, what are the chances a lead or supporting actor would be on set for a scene none of them are involved in? Pretty much zero right?
Hey thanks for the great comment and question. My voice is just a result of good genetics! About your question, if an actor isn't in a scene, they usually aren't on set while it's being shot unless they're there for some other reason. Thanks for watching!
Please make more videos like this. Lol. Thank you for this refreshing information. I don't see many perspectives from actors who have done multiple episodes on a t.v show.
@@ChrisAgosActor Hey Chris! What about your audtion process to being booked? What was that like, and what exactly happens from the pre-read, to officially being cast in a T.V. show? Also, is the process similar for film? Both the audtion and being on set? I know it's a lot of questions, I am just wanting to be prepared, because I am serious about professionally acting.
Are food allergies handled well on sets? I have nut allergies and shellfish allergies. I’ve been so nervous to even put myself out there because of it. Especially if I have to kiss somebody in my role..well I’d have to ask if they’ve eaten my allergens that day. And then I’d of course have to worry about feeding myself because if any of the food is cross contaminated on set I’d have to not eat at all. I love acting so much. I hope I can build up the courage to really put myself out there despite my allergies.
I don't know for sure, but I suspect that most productions would work with requests concerning food allergies. If you booked something, I'd just mention it to them before you work.
I love Chicago Pd so much lol it’s my comfort show and as soon as u came on my feed I was like wow it’s Steve kot then I just subscribed lol you do a great job!
Well, you're asking about two different things. For improv, take a class, online or in person. There are lots of options out there for that. For memorizing, I'd look up some videos here. There are a few that are really helpful. Good luck!
Then you get yourself there somehow. 🚗 🚎 🚊 ✈️ Unless of course they travel you, which almost never happens for the kind of role referenced in this vid.
Congrats on the job, but look at it like this: it's not really a social thing, it's a work thing. Just try to keep your focus on the job. Try to get lost in that part of it. That might help with the anxiety. Hope you can have some fun!
They have me coming in for a costume fitting to my specic size. Is that normal? And does it mean that I will likely be in the forefront? This is my first time and from what I'm reading online that doesn't seem super common
@@ThinkForYourselfFriends No way to tell where they’ll place you. The fitting might be because you’re to wear something they don’t have many of, and want to make sure they put it on someone who fits in it. Have fun with it!
@@ThinkForYourselfFriends Just listen and follow directions and you’ll be fine. You can’t screw it up if you’re doing what they’re asking you to do. Go get ‘em!
I'm probably not the best person to ask about directing, but before "action" just listen to the environments to make sure all's quiet on set and if it's not, ask people to settle or wait for ambient noise (planes, traffic, etc) to end before shooting. in terms of communicating with actors, give them short, clear explanations of what you want from them. Keep it simple, don't give them too many things to think about at once. Good luck!
congratulations I loved it! I am also an actress, I just uploaded my first video (on my channel I will upload vlogs going to a shooting, fitting, healthy life ...) I hope my content inspires you! 💕🎬
Hollywood can be all glamorizing and can be all B.S. I used to be in the show business myself and unfortunately there were no videos like this as to what you would need to do, what you should never do and so on. I have gone to 1 acting workshop once and had to learn all of the hidden rules as to what you can and cannot do on a film set. Prior to that, unfortunately I have made some mistakes here and there. Not intentional mind you, these mistakes were honest and accidental kinds, but we all know on how the show business looks upon those little mistakes. You screw up once, and you're finished for good. Go figure. Unfortunately I don't have an agent anymore, but I have been told if I want to act on a film set,....apparently I don't necessarily need one. There are times I do miss the acting world on a film set, but at the same time I do remind myself of the pretentious B.S. non-sense that is along with the show business. Mind you I was only an extra, unfortunately never a character actor on any of those high budget films. I have gone to some auditions, but cold reading and I don't get along. I have been a character actor on student project films but that was it.
I never will ever be on a set. I was just curious of how things are done that we the viewers don't see so I'm watching your videos. Awesome info!
Well thanks for watching and commenting!

bring your own safe food.sometimes they do sometimes they don't and the budget of the set maybe be low depending.

Hello. I'm a first time director in Philadelphia. What does a director say before 'action'?
Any advice or procedures I should know? Thank you!!!

Can we be an actor auditioning from abroad?
Yes. US productions do hire actors from abroad sometimes.
@@ChrisAgosActor Well thanks for the help Mr. Chris! I hope I could get into the industry soon.
