That's really interesting. Following your directions to a T, mine have a black costing underneath the chrome. It looks SO good, without any extra work. Thanks for the tutorial!
Thank you for posting this! My rear lights are foggy from the inside (quite common on R52s cars from what I've seen), with this procedure I can see if polish them from the inside of the lens will fix them. Great color paint on your car btw 😃👍🏼
Thanks for doing this vid mate! It took away a lot of guess work when I did mine. Loving the results! I also sprayed the turn signal lenses red with some backlight paint while I was at it.
Great video, and the light looks much better all red. However, this is too much work for me (and I’m sure I will mess up and not seal it properly), so I’ll probably go for some LED replacements. Loving your videos 💜
Glad to hear. I have already done my headlights a couple of years ago, however I do have a spare pair in the garage that may be I could do. Let me have a think.
Hi the term ‘joey mod’ relates to the procedure of stripping down your headlights and painting the insides black or body coloured. The original person to do that mod on another car was called joey hence the name stuck. This is a similar process as you are stripping down your rear lights to remove the chrome or paint the insides.

I wonder if they can be heated in the oven like the headlights?
Unfortunately not as it’s a sealed unit
brilliant vid mate! Hope you'll get around and do the front ones too
Thanks for watching
How did your sealant hold up over time? Anything you would have done differently?
Hi yes this held up fine and they are still on the car. Wouldnt change any step.

@@tweedbean okay okay thanks buddy by the he way the taillights look pretty awesome
@@tweedbean in what year did the original person do this mod?
Not got a clue sorry
Wet your finger before using finger to smooth
Thanks for the tip
When you start to see red and your finger drops off then it's time to stop.
ha
WHY?
To get rid of the chrome, not everyone is a fan 👍🏼
