My dream is to MTB Epping Forest. Why ? First off, I'm a huge Genesis fan. Secondly, it's beautiful and it's basically a flat ride and you don't have to worry about Black Bears chasing you for lunch, and seeing as I'm 57, they'll have little trouble catching me. Black Bears you say ? Well yes, I'm in New Jersey, USA and we have many of them. Anyways, Soon I'll be visiting and renting a Mountain Bike for my own first time ride in this legendary place.
Is a hardtail mtb too much bike for epping forest? I have a gravel bike which i mainly use on road with road tyres but could switch tyres but just feel off road I'd prefer an MTB?
Epping forest is easy peasy - you can do it on steel city bike with no issues. I've done quite a few times. No need to buy a new bike for a forest near a city ;)
I have a cube reaction hybrid pro which is a hard tail e mountain bike. I want to go to Epping forest but I’m worried that my bike won’t be able to cope as it doesn’t have full suspension

Been cycling in Epping Forest for close to 20 years. Every time I hit the single-track I thank the trail fairies for laying them.

You should definitely go for hardtail as minimum but would recommend I would recommend full suss
