@@EternalNightingale There are some nice ps5 additions, the 3d audio and use of the controller come to mind. I'd prefer it be a free upgrade but at least it is a low cost. Also ps4 games cannot be patched to run at 120hz, which is a huge selling point and makes the game feel so much better to play. :)
I'm kind of surprised to see that this game has a 120fps mode, it's really not something I was expecting.
It's great to see that both Sony and Microsoft are focusing more on performance than graphics, we had beautiful games last generation but it always saddened me that most games ran at just 30fps.

Bought the xbox one and ps4 in day one, and had them till 2016, then i was fed up with both. Indeed 30fps and the lack of real great looking titles nade me decide to sell them.

The difference of fps from last gen to this gen is crazy. It looks so much smoother much like tlou2 from last gen to this gen.
You only need to own Either Uncharted 4 OR Uncharted Lost Legacy on PS4 to upgrade with $10 and get BOTH games remastered for the PS5

@@BallinDamon On Jan 28th, if you have a disc of one of the games you insert it and there will be options to pay $10 and upgrade, and if you have a digital copy of one of the games you can do something similar on your PS5 through the store. The upgrade path won't be available till the game's launch on Jan 28th.

Honestly the most exciting part about PS5 games is the loading speed. Sure, the minor improvements in textures or whatever are nice, but not waiting five minutes to start playing is nicer.
Locked frame rates im a console gamer so if games moving forward will have locked stable frame rates I’m down plus these games still look amazing in 1080p I’d rather have more frames then resolution

If you pop over to digital foundry they have an interesting analysis of it, John seems to find it interesting why they haven't got a 4k 60 version, he believes there is a lot of overhead left in the 4k 30 mode, it doesn't budge, and the 1080 120 mode doesn't drop below 100 fps at all. So yeah, you ain't the only one wondering this.

Me lo acabe en ps4 pro y lo estoy jugando el refrito en ps5 en una LG oled C1 55" y con la opción de 120hz a 1080p luce espectacular, nada de dientes de sierra ni cosas muy cantonas, se nota mas en algunas texturas secundarias la baja resolución, por lo demás muy muy recomendado.

7:00 the newer shadows are more accurate to real life. She's far away from the ground so that shadow softens. In the original version the shadows are too sharp for the distance.

That's great to have 60 and 120 fps modes on PS5, but unfortunately there is no significant graphics improvements compared to PS4 Pro. The situation like God of War and Horizon: Zero Dawn, more FPS for PS5 but the same texture quality. They improve graphics only for PC versions. And it is a pity.

Tho in Uncharted it's a bummer that despite Ps5 version there's no graphical improvement tho we can't ingnore the improved draw distance which technically makes some scenes graphical superior on Ps5.

Yup i love sony exclusives but they are worse in terms of consumer friendly mentality. Makes no sense how last of us, god of war and ghost of tsushima (aside from directors cut) got free resolution and framerate updates yet they charge 10 bucks for this.
@@JagsP95 charging any kind of money just for res and frame rate upgrade is pretty scummy. Pc users literally get it for free by just upgrading the hardware and xbox also provides it for free. It's not something that consumer should be charged for.

The developers left a lot of headroom in the perf+ mode & the 4k30fps fidelity mode PS5 achieves in Death Stranding Director Cut a more demanding open world game native 4k 60fps.
if the developers utilized more of the PS5 horse power native 4k 60fps could be achieved making the performance mode useless and performance + mode should be native 1440p 120fps

This is perfect enhanced port. 60 and suprice 120 fps is big enhancemend, but better lod, object details, better af, better textures, better shading, better reflection and suprice even better shadows, zero pop in and instantis good bonus for already perfect looking game. Here is example how big jump is from PS4Pro to PS5. Biggest jump is cpu from that shitty tablet cpu to Ryzen 3700X like cpu offer that 120 fps what is pretty stable and 100 percent stable 60 fps. 3-4 times stronger gpu offer better effects, better fps too. But almost 6 times stronger cpu make in this game extreme difference.

@@kudryfume4667 pero para que vas a sacar la opción, no la uses y listo, lo de la resolución dinamica es cierto al 200%, debió tener un modo de resolución dinamica a 60fps, luego el de 4k a 30fps y el de 1080p/120fps, o todas con factor dinamico dando la maxima resolución en base al target de fps y listo. Quizá el motor de ND no soporta DRS y al ser un proyecto hecho quizá por unas pocas personas no lo implementaron, se entendería si hubiera sido actualización gratis, nadie se quejaría, pero siendo que están cobrando debió tener un poco mas de esfuerzo. Lo de quitar el MP me parece otra tontería, a mi nunca me enganchó, pero y a los que si?, ahora tendrán que tener la versión last gen y actual para poder tener todo accesible.
Analista de bits impecable como siempre¡ ahora bien se nota que las mejoras son pocas , las sombras no las mejoraron ni un poco (al menos hacerlas un poco mas definidas), es como una actualización de la resolución y distancia de dibujado y alguna que otra textura pero no vi cambios significativos salvo en los fps pero sacrificando resolución, pagar 10usd por una actualización hecha así mejor no¡

Imagina venir de ps3 comprar la ps4 querer rejugarlo y tener que pasar 60$ por caja de nuevo pars tener un copia y pega y luego si quieres jugarlo en ps5 te cobren 60$ u 20$ por actualizar al nuevo remaster del remaster que es otro copia y pega, el que no lo a jugado bien pero ombre ya el mismo juego que lleva como 15 remasters a precio de nuevo es un cansacio para eso mejor que hagan los juegos retrocompatibles asi sea una miserable cantidad de los pocos que sean retrocompatibles

I’ve just beat the game in performance mode (60 fps) and loved every second of it. If you have 4k tv with proper hdr feature, don’t even think another second and grab one. Difference is huge if you compare with ps4. Funny thing is it’s much better than tlou2 in terms of lightning and textures. Probably it’ll also get an upgrade soon.

What tv did you buy where from?
@@InfernalNiteWolf it’s Samsung q70r qled model from 2019 and it’s still awesome. It’s even doing fine (not great) with new VRR feature. I think HDR and VRR tech requires OLED or QLED models. I remember my previous TV, which was a regular Samsung 4K, couldn’t handle HDR properly. Colors were grayed out but my current TV q70r does the job properly. If you have budget go for Sony Bravia or LG OLED. Other Samsung QLED is great value.

And 3D audio, faster load times and haptic feedback. Human beings have to go back and WORK on the game to get it better suited for PS5. I doubt your ass would go back and work on a project just to give it away free
This level of entitlement is exactly why the subject of gaming has become so toxic. Why shoukd it be free? I mean, I already owned Uncharted 4 on ps4, so I realistically got a 70 dollar game for 10 buck including a free game if you count Lost Legact, which I never played until the ps5 upgrade. Needless to say, I loved it! There also may be people who likely haven't played it until now and so paying full price makese no difference to them. Regardless, that's a deal if you upgrade if you ask me and any rational person would tell you that, if you support games and developers, you'll pay, period. The fact you have to be reminded that people have put a lot of time, effort and hard work into a game to make it the best it can be and quite honestly I think you in that position would want the respect and money for your efforts.
Fidelity mode looks beautiful but the sweet spot is the performance mode at 1440p 60fps. To me the 120fps mode looks really blurry and honestly it's a story mode so 120fps is kinda useless in that mode

Despite being an old game its considered one of the top tier exclusives and This level of optimization is poor for those standards. If a game like ghost can run 4k60 theres no excuse. 1440p60fps is by no means bad, loved it on Control but that game isnt exclusive. Naughty dog doing everything besides making a new game.
Yep. They raised lod, shadow, but this update is joke. And it's don't use full PS5 power at all, based how stable is 60 and 30 fps mode, here is much room for more enhancements. Like that 60 fps mode can be dynamic and it can run easy between like 1440p and 1800p. That 30 fps mode can have even higher textures, shadows, even some RayTracing reflections.. And that 120 fps mode can run with dynamic res.much higher than 1080p, like between 1080p at whorst, 1440p at best with avg 1216p. Here is lot, lot headroom what is not used. But for 10 usd it's not bad enhanced too. I seen whorse for lot more money.

I had to check what system this 'Lost Legacy' game originally came out on and I'm surprised to see it was the PS4, on this release it looks like it's been upscaled from what I would have thought was a PS3 game

Hola. Tengo una duda. Tengo la PS5 y descargue el juego que está en el PS Collection donde vienen 20 juegos incluidos el Uncharted. Cuestión que al jugarlo me corre a 30fps, y no encuentro una opción para ponerlo a 60fps.

I am only giving in to Sony's money-grubbing upcharge because I am weak! I have a new TV (OLED) being installed this weekend. I really enjoyed playing The Lost Legacy and it was such a beautiful game (played on my PS4 Pro). I can only imagine how nice it will look now with this new TV and the PS5.

In Fidelety Mode, the game runs at native 4K! In performance+ mode, at 1440p at 60fps!It's in Performance mode at 1080p 120fps!

I mean, 4K 60 is a really heavy target.
Considering the PS4 Pro could not reach a stable 1440p 30fps in UE4/ULL (dipping to ~24fps in greatest stress moments) then it is impressive that the performance mode at 1440p with some pretty noticeable visual enhancements locks to 60fps. Disregarding the increase in visual quality on PS5, the PS5 by framerate at stress points alone is 2.66x increase. With the aforementioned visual improvements, I'd imagine you are looking at a 3-3.5x improvement in overall performance measures when compared to the PS4 pro.
Judging by the frametime graph, it looks as though, this 1440p mode could have operated at a dynamic 4K set up, where I am guessing it could, in some of the lighter scenes hit or sit neat a full 2840 x 2160p. I think the fixed resolution approach in this day and age is not great, as in order to maintain performance you have to cap it at or near the lowest bounds, which in this case would have been 1440p.
@@shogunreloaded4670 4K 60fps is indeed very demanding, especially in newer 3D titles like that which pushed the PS4 to it's limit. In practice, the PS5 can't run most newer 3D at native 4K 60fps like some people assume it can. 1800p@60fps, or even 1440p@60fps for the most demanding games is more common.
@@Philo229 I think DRS could really be beneficial here for ULOTC for PS5. I'd imagine Uncharted 4, looking at the performance profile, to be capable of hitting a range of 1440p-~2000p, in general I think DRS aid in creating a much more temporally sharper image, and works well with TAA. PS5 is very capable of running at an average res of 1800p for this title.
@@Philo229 I think the 4k 60 expectation associated with PS5 and SX are set by the platform manufacturer. It is unrealistic, and creates a sense of underwhelming/disappointment when games render internally at 1080p to reach 120hz, when 1080p is a very respectable target for 120hz gaming. running a game at 120hz requires more than just double the throughput, you have a lot more limitations that begin to come in to play.
even most pc players with rtx graphics are struggling to run native 4k 60fps do what u expect from a 500$ console? even though im already satisfyed with my ps5

En su momento, ambos juegos me encantaron. Muy recomendable para aquellos que no lo hayan disfrutado y lo desean comprar para PS5. Ahora bien, para el que ya lo tenga, creo que no merece la pena pagar por la actualización. Los originales ya son suficientemente buenos. Ojalá también lo pudieran disfrutar los usuarios que exclusivamente juegan a xbox y nintendo. Merece enormemente la pena.

I'm glad there's a PS5 update/upgrade now. The 30 fps cap was the sole reason I couldn't playthrough both titles. My eyes do not like 30 fps and causes me to get dizzy when I try to play games that locked at that frame rate. Appreciate the your videos and performance breakdown.

No, it's a good upgrade imo. The higher res and 60 fps combined with the greatly improved anisotropic filtering and draw distance will result in a miles better looking game on a big screen!
Ghost of Tsushima was lazy, yes, but not this one imo.
@@estignatic Considering it's $10 to upgrade two games, I actually think these upgrades are pretty great. More than double the resolution or framerate, a more stable framerate, dramatically improved loading times, improved LOD, improved shadows and reflections, added 3D audio, haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
It may not blow you away watching on TH-cam via a phone or laptop, but I'm confident these will make a decent improvement on a big screen. And once again, only $10 to upgrade two games (which you aren't forced to do seeing as they are backwards compatible anyway).
@@snakeeater4042 The Ghost of Tsushima is very similar to this improvement, but it does not have a 30 fps mode, but there are two modes: quality (60 fps, but not super stable at times, you may not even distinguish them from stable 60) and performance (with a lower resolution and mega stable 60 fps).

1440p es una resolucion obsoleta y basicamente es 1080p FHD por eso Sony no la utilizq

The only conclusion that comes to my mind is that PS5 can't handle 4K 60fps properly. Maybe it's only for now but I can see no reason why I need to buy this console.

La ps5 corre el juego igual que la ps4 pro en todos los juegos versión ps4, es decir, la comparativa ya la tienes hecha
A lo mejor un juego ps4 te va mas rápido en la versión ps5 pero texturización y demás es identica

Lo más notable es el rendimiento,porque las demás diferencias hay que verlas con lupa,se ven genial en todas las versiones pero en ps5 va suave a 60 en modo performance
