Hey, everybody, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the Yakima OffGrid roof cargo basket here today on our 2022 Hyundai Palisade. Now this is gonna be an awesome little way, guys, of going ahead and giving yourself some cargo space on top of your vehicle. Now the Palisade does have that third row, so if you do find yourself kind of getting that guy up, having people in the back, you're definitely gonna be limiting your cargo space. So this can be a nice little way, if you guys, A, don't have a hitch or B, maybe you're utilizing your hitch for something else, towing something, you've got a trailer with you, or may get a cargo basket or something else on the back end, too. This can be nice, 'cause you're actually gonna free up a lot of space for yourself.
Could get those big coolers up on here, your dry bags, duffle bags, anything like that. I also see this being awesome for sports games. You know, you got those baseball bags, you've got those cleats, you got your football pads and those can really start getting pretty musty, pretty smelly, pretty quick. So that could be pretty cool to go ahead and throw up on here and that way, not getting all those odors inside your car. And of course you get a nice little contact points throughout the entirety of this guy, which is awesome, so you're gonna have no trouble getting your cam buckles and your ratchet strap systems thrown up on there, really tighten down everything you need to in nice concise manner for ourselves.
At the top here, too, you guys can kind of see the ends here of these bars. What's happening there, the top, you guys can see, we have those little bars there. Those are gonna be, A, great for kind of storage dividers, can kind of compartmentalize your OffGrid as you go, gives it a good little backing for some of your bigger items. And then secondly, you actually can mount other accessories on here. So we're talking bike rack carriers, we're talking, I mean, you could get probably crazy with a kayak carrier.
I'd be, I'd be a little hesitant with a kayak carrier, I'll be honest. That's pretty up there, but there are a lot of different things out there. Big ones that kinda might come to mind though, are gonna be your roof-mounted bike rack options, and of course the OffGrid takes up a little bit more room that you might see. So you are taking up most of the room here in the Palisade. Now you could shift it over a little bit, maybe have an accessory that's hanging over on one side, but it's nice that you have that adapter option.
'Cause we can actually go ahead, put things on top of our OffGrid since it is taking up most of the room on there. And now talking about that, we do have 165 pound weight capacity for this guy. So that's gonna be awesome, we're gonna have no trouble getting most of the things we need up on here. Now the one thing I will say, make sure you are checking your vehicle's owner's manual guide to make sure you're not exceeding your vehicle's roof limit, but also your roof rack options as well. So, if you have the factory ones like here, of course, make sure you're checking that vehicle's owner's manual guide. But you guys do have your own roof rack system at home, make sure you are weighing that weight capacity as well. And kinda keep in mind, you do have a little bit of weight here on the carrier. So kind of factor that in when you guys are adding up all those weights that you can get on top of your roof. Well, this guy doesn't take too much time to actually get installed. It's one of my big reasons that I actually like them. The Yakima OffGrid and just their mounting system works really, really well. So let's go ahead and take a look how we can get it installed. First things first, of course, is to lay your roof basket up on here. Now the OffGrid is a little bit heavier of a carrier out there, but it's not too bad, of course. One thing that can be nice when you lay it down, of course is just help your middle, get it set. And then to just simply kind of walk it over, cause you guys can damage your roof rack system if you're not being gentle with it. Now that black powder coat as well, can start to degrade if you don't treat it well. So just setting it gently on there and getting it into position is gonna be helpful. Then of course, you wanna go ahead and situate all of our foot pads. We've already got ahead, situated our other three and
