I'm so glad she did this because I've always wondered what Dubai's solution would be. When "The Abandoning" (What me and my friend named it, lol.) first happened. Me and my friend was in Dubai for a wedding and abandoned supercars were literally all over Dubai just sitting with all kinds of sand on them. Some with keys still in them. Nice to see that they finally have a location for them and that you can actually bid and buy.
Really they just leave it in the streets with keys oh my God why this stupid people having cars like this they don't deserve it while I'm going in the crowded bus every day that's so unfair

I lived in Riyadh. There were so many high end cars just rotting away. Many others were total losses due to horrendous accidents at the hands of incredibly rich but very reckless drivers.

This isn’t an example of how someone acts when they don’t “worship material things” this is what happens when you have so much material wealth, that conservation doesn’t matter. If they didn’t care about material wealth, they wouldn’t have owned nice cars in the first place. Sometimes they even have to throw them away because their greed and reverence for material wealth has pushed them to the point of not being able to afford what they already have, causing them to flee.
Fudge Race This is an example of consumerism becoming so egregious, that there are millions of dollars which could be spent helping others, being wasted on luxuries which are then simply thrown away.
this is just heartbreaking and shows that people in Dubai dont have emotional conections to their cars like we do in europe....

Thanks for sharing. Such a colossal WASTE! If a car is totaled in an accident that is another thing but some of those car look like they where just "thrown away". If I EVER have that mindset I know I have gone down the wrong path. What a sad end to all the passion and workmanship that went into building and designing those cars.

Pride of ownership is becoming less and less common. Have you ever seen a GMC Syclone in person before? Their super TRUCKS. A little GMC S-15 Sonoma with a turbo charged 4.3 vortec V6. In it's a day it beat 5.0 Mustangs! The Typhoon was the same but in a Jimmy body. I'd love to have a Syclone or Typhoon!

Most of these cars are not “abandoned”. They’re totaled by the insurance companies and anyone can bid on them from the online auction.

When I go back to Dubai, I'll visit an abandoned car junk yard and loot some cash and valuables such as car emblems to sell on the market.
I'll use an electric scooter to navigate my way through the junk yard to make the looting process more efficient.
