    Thanks a lot.
    I'm a PDI, and I know nothing about this test centre.
    My experience was always in South Yardley test centre.
    My candidate will get her driving test in the kingstanding test centre, and I really wanted this info. Thanks for sharing.
    Please, always update us.

    Amazing Video. Quick question, would you always be reading the number plates on the fence or will they make you read car number plates for the eyesight test? Thank you in advance.

    • @rightdriveacademyofmotorin4483
      @rightdriveacademyofmotorin4483  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you for the feedback. Glad it helps. SO not always the examiners need to assess your eyesight and they can ask you to read the number plates on the fence or cars parked outside from the checking point which is by the pedestrian crossing area.
      Failure to read these plates will mean the examiner will take you at the back of the test centre get a measuring tape out and get you to write down what you can read. ( saw this happen last week ; )
      If what you wrote down is correct then game on, however if you still cannot correctly get the number plates right then I'm afraid Test is Over.🤓🤓🤓
      I encourage students to get their eyes tested regularly and wear spectacles etc if they need.🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
      Relax, do what you have to and go get that license. 😎😎😎😎😎😎
      All the best for you test.

    Thank you so much for this video! very helpful as I have my test coming up at this centre next week Friday! I definitely learned a good few things from this vid. If you don't mind answering, when exactly would you recommend switching to gear 1 to enter the test centre-as in let's say I'm turning right to enter the test centre, should I select gear 1 before I even make the turn or as I'm making it?

      Hi thanks for kind words. I made this to help everyone. 🙋🏽‍♂️😎🤲🏽. So answering your question this is all dependant on the situation:
      1st thing is not to panic stay calm and breathe.
      Right turns in the UK give priority to oncoming traffic. So if this is the case you should go into 1st gear anyway because you have stopped. and so that you can drive across road and into those IN gates slowly and in control.
      You'll be coming from roundabout end, so no more than 2nd gear anyway at max, But I would still recommend stop and get into 1st gear b4 you enter. Be mindful that some muppet doesn't try to overtake you there so defo check the mirror and oncoming traffic. Its a matter of a second or so
      Don't stress you got this. Take your time and enter carefully remember it banks to the left and is uphill. So 1st gear is defo the way forward.
      There is no rush. Practice with your instructor right turns and entrances to tight places that require you to slow down significantly. (MSPSL process)
      All the best with your test🙋🏽‍♂️

    I was looking for a vid on the new kingstanding centre and wasn’t expecting to see you Sam! This is Jasmine, I hope you’re well :)
    I’ve got my test coming up in the autumn and wanted to ask whether you knew if routes will be changing for kingstanding slightly because of the merger of Sutton Coldfield and the other centre? Unsure if that change will have an impact. This video has been incredibly helpful tho thank you, will probably rewatch multiple times as my test approaches!

    • @rightdriveacademyofmotorin4483
      @rightdriveacademyofmotorin4483  ปีที่แล้ว

      HI jasmine, good thanks hope you are well too. You are correct the test centres Sutton Coldfield, Wyndley and Streetly have all now closed. All examiners are located at this site and it is very very busy. Think about your test having a 20 min max radius and circle around the test centre. This is so that the examiner can get back in time for the next slot. So wont be very far out, just focus and breathe through and stay calm.
      Glad to hear the video helped and naturally as an when changes happen ill post on my social media platforms.

      Peace out.

    I was looking for someone to see how they go out to that gate and what are the distance kept between vehicle and gate, exactly the same way I drive out and the examiner put the break from the begging and fail me saying is control steering , that was the single mistake that I made as he considered a mistake 😑

    • @rightdriveacademyofmotorin4483
      @rightdriveacademyofmotorin4483  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey thanks for the message, yes I completely agree the entrance and exit to the test centre was designed by a novice to say the least, however you should be able to negotiate both. I recommend 1st gear in and out of that centre Always. in terms of distance - leave plenty of space at least 2 cars worth especially if you are following other in and out - remember everyone is on a test like you and nerves will destroy confidence.
      Such a cruel way to fail a test, I'm sorry to hear - unfortunately examiner decisions are final. Maybe you got too close to the gates or car perhaps??? But this should make you stronger and I'm sure with some practice and help from your instructor you will pass next time. Don't give up.👍🏾 You got this. All the best. Sam www.rightdriveacademy.co.uk

    At the entrance of the centre,
    Do the candidates should be careful crossing the Zebra as in normal roads 😅.??i know it's a stupid question.

    • @rightdriveacademyofmotorin4483
      @rightdriveacademyofmotorin4483  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good question, yes pedestrian crossing lines are valid. so if someone is walking across you must stop. Be careful as its a hill. Candidates only need to worry when they are returning to the Test centre at the end of their test.

    When reversing into the bay, you span your wheel on the curb lol

    • @rightdriveacademyofmotorin4483
      @rightdriveacademyofmotorin4483  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yep I sure did good spot. 👍🏽 Leaving it resting on curb might help when student leaves the car park. Remember there is no reversing done at this test centre for the test. This is purely to set the car and student up to begin. If you do leave it on curb be careful that the back of the car may touch barrier. So if your car has a big rear I would avoid. All the best.

    Thank you, my test is tomorrow,car I use a private car for the test?

    • @rightdriveacademyofmotorin4483
      @rightdriveacademyofmotorin4483  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi. Welcome.
      Yes you can take private vehicles as long as it meets criteria set out by dvsa.
      Usual MOT, Tax and Insurance needs to be valid. Additional interior mirror for examiner and L plates on car.
      I would do the following too :
      Just make sure tyres are within tread and no cuts or bulges and inflated to recommended psi. Top up screenwash. Clean windows in and out for best visibilty and generally give car a clean.
      There are certain cars that cannot be used for test.
      Check out the link below for explanation by dvsa
      www.gov.uk/driving-test/using-your-own-car
      Note Changes: The 2 bays as you enter the Test Centre on the right are no longer used for tests. The examiners have changed this due to abuse by people turning up too early and getting those spots. They have placed cones in front. All other spots are still ok 👍🏽.
      All the best for your test.

    So helpful. One question, from what point would they do the eyesight test?

    • @rightdriveacademyofmotorin4483
      @rightdriveacademyofmotorin4483  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Glad I could help buddy. Great question :)))
      So Eyesight is such an important element for driving.
      The examiners will determine if you can read 1 number plate from the minimum distance of 20 meters.
      This is done as soon as the admin side of things is completed. i.e. Your Provisional license checked and your emails and declarations signed for etc.
      As soon as you walk out of the waiting room you will be presented with options to read number plates at the required distance. At this test centre you are approximately going to be standing by the pedestrian crossing lines facing the far end wall and asked to read number plated of either the cars parked their or the fixed number plates on the barriers. If you fail to read them at this length - all is not lost yet.
      They get a large measuring tape out and measure the distance as it is a legal requirement, they present you with a pen and paper and they will ask you to write down what you can see.
      If you still fail to get the number plates written correctly - no test - FAILED - Game over.
      Here is the DVSA link for the eyesight rules.
      www.gov.uk/driving-eyesight-rules
      I'll do a video about the eyesight rules for you all. keep the questions and suggestions flooding in people. :)
      All the best for your test

    The worst driving test centre

      hahahaha surprisingly there are even worse test centres, its a shame DVSA cannot put tax payers money to better use.
