Hey all! Thanks for watching our first taste of an Open House Event in Malaysia! We had such a great time, let us know in the comments which is your favourite part and drop a sub if you haven't already if you're enjoying our content! ❤
The food of course, my favorite part of this video and congrats on winning a hamper. It's very thoughtful that Melilea took the time to organize a Raya open house, it looked quite well organized with good usherers, good food, good traditional Malay dance performance, good doorgift, Melilea was a good host for a Raya open house.
Hi Jacob and Emma,
It was wonderful meeting you 😍 and having you join us at our 🕌RAYA OPEN HOUSE🕌 with MELILEA. We loved showing you our dedication to an organic lifestyle and immersing you in the vibrant Malay festive atmosphere here in Malaysia.

@@DisappearforDays SURE!Thank you once again for your video, and it's been a pleasure meeting you. Looking forward to seeing you again next time😊.
Indeed our Malaysian hospitality is second to none!
Truly nothing like it, we felt so welcomed at all times there from all people 😊
I hope this is one of d unique experience about Malaysia that u guys would always remember and cherish for a lifetime and u guys can always come back to Malaysia again everytime there's Hari Raya & other Malaysian celebrations like our Chinese New Year celebration for d Chinese in Malaysia especially for our Malaysian Chinese and our Deepavali and Thaipusam celebrations for d Indians in Malaysia especially for our Malaysian Indian brothers and sisters .... Then of course in East Malaysia in the region of Sabah & Sarawak ( Borneo ) we have the Kaamaatan Festival in Sabah and the Hari Gawai Festival in Sarawak ... These two celebrations are the Harvest Festival of these two East Malaysian regions in Borneo ... And these celebrations are d ones that make Malaysia so unique and so diverse ....
Malaysia is just so great with its multi and diverse cultures. Very unique country. To be celebrated!! 🎉
@@Burlin88 It's such a great country and we love how multicultural and diverse it is! So many celebrations to be had! 😁😁

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri emma & jacob
Selamat Hari Raya to you too! We hope you've had a wonderful time celebrating it over this last month! ❤️
hari raya is celebrated for month. companies and mosques and individual houses will pick a day to do open houses. we are glad to serve food to others
Such lovely events for the community to come together 😃💚
Thumbs up👍to Melilia for organising this Hari Raya open house. Selamat Hari Raya everybody 🌙 ✨
Definitely! They did such a great job and it's so nice to see organisations give back to the community by hosting such an event. It's a win-win with their marketing campaign, and for anyone visiting! 😄
first time I heard this miliea..good promotion.
We hadn’t heard of them either but they seem like a great company 😃
Spotted you guys at McDonald's Intermark Mall a few weeks ago, had wanted to come over to say hello then by strange fate, my order number was called. When I returned to my seat, you had gone 🤣. Enjoy yourselves wherever you are!
Oh no way - that's so crazy! That was definitely us, we were waiting to meet a friend! That's such a shame we just missed each other, definitely fate indeed! If you spot us around KL next time though, we'd love to have a chat! 😊
@@DisappearforDays hopefully sooner than later! 🤩
We malaysian boycott McDonald's
I think you would have know by now. Malaysia..is a blessed land.
Believe it or not, we didn't actually eat anything, just sitting as it was the only seat we could find which wasn't taken in the mall 😂 We can appreciate why you would boycott the franchise, however, we try not to take sides with the politics of it all as it's bad for both with innocent people being killed. Anyway, too deep of a subject for this channel! We hope you enjoyed watching 😊
Melilea seems like a good company.
We hadn’t heard of them before this event but we really enjoyed ourselves. They certainly know how to bring people together 😃
They hosted such a great event! 😊
@@DisappearforDays Me too, thank you for sharing.

sweet couple 😍👍
Thank you so much! That's such a kind comment 🥰
Malaysian rendang is so good❤❤❤❤ would love to try it again
It really is! Definitely one of our favourite curries. It's so fragrant and complex in flavour but tastes SOO good! We love it! 🤤😋
Awesome...🎉🎉
Selamat Hari Raya...
Have a nice day... 😍👍
Thank you, and the same to you ☺️
Bro it is ok for a Mad Salleh to wear a round collar neck tshirt but it is more appropriate if you put on a batik shirt to attend a function.
Ahh, unfortunately I didn't have a batik shirt! I did have button up white shirt, but I forgot to iron it stupidly enough 😓
Selamat Hari Raya to both of you 🎉😊
Thank you so much, and the same to you ☺️
Terima kasih-thx you for share this video sending salam ❤ good spirit to you both from Jkrta
Sama-sama! Thank you for watching! We are so glad you enjoyed! Sending love to Jakarta! ❤️🇮🇩
Now, what did I tell you guys, don't give your hopes up just yet. I'm truly glad that you guys had experienced a Raya Aidilfitri open house in KL. Wow, you guys won a hamper.
But I hope you guys can also experience a more personal Raya Aidilfitri open house hospitality from a local family.
My favorite is, of course, the food. Back in the olden days, nasi impit, ketupat, lemang, rendang, kuah kacang, serunding used to be served during Raya Aidilfitri or Aidiladha only, but nowadays, you can get rendang, in many places, every day of the year.
yeah, next raya maybe they can🤗
Hahah you we right! It took a bit of patience but we are so glad we got to experience it! Such a blessing😊 We would still love to attend a traditional open house, but are so busy in the lead up to our trip away in the Philippines! Hopefully next year we can though, it would be so great 😊
I won't lie, we're glad you can get rendang in most places all times of the year, it's so perfect 🤤
Great video guys! Very interesting to see this side of Malaysia! We need to visit!!
Thanks for watching guys 🫶 you definitely need to visit, it's such a beautiful country! Let us know if you do, if we're here at the time, we'd be happy to show you around! 😊
Hari raya is a real thing 😁✌️
Hari Raya is such a great time! 😁
@@DisappearforDays that is one of the concept of open day for office. It will be happening for a month 😁 we like raya festival, that will be not for marketing purpose, just to give back to people surrounding
First Raye open house ✨️🎁🎊
It was so much fun 😃
Welcome to Melilea Tower Bangsar South
Thank you! It was great being there, such a great event!😁
What are the odds of you winning a hamper on your first open house? I'm jelly now 🤣
I know - it was such luck we couldn't believe it! There were over 300 people as well haha! It had some great little snacks in it which have been a nice treat! 🤤
Thats what we call, "Cabutan Bertuah", congrats on the win🎉🎉
Ohhh interesting - you learn something new every day! Thank you for the congrats! We couldn't believe our luck! 😅🥳
@@DisappearforDays cabutan -draw, bertuah-lucky. Together it is called, lucky draw -cabutan bertuah 😊😊😊He he
Glad you enjoy your 1st open house. Just a friendly advise, in future you may want to wear long pants with a button shirt if you are attending an invitation such as open house, wedding etc. It's not obligated but you'll look presentable. Not that you look bad with those short khakis, its just a matter of dressing up for an invitation. 😊
Thanks so much for watching - we appreciate the advice. It was difficult in honestly as we don't have any long trousers in Malaysia (I used to have a few pairs of trousers, however as I'd not worn them in such a long time, I got them out a few weeks back and they had gained mould and ruined them). We hadn't enough time to go out and buy more, also the cost of it for the amount of times I would use it didn't seem to be warranted in Malaysia, but maybe I'll see if I can get some for events in the future!
I was also meant to wear a button shirt to be more formal, however I stupidly forgot to iron it beforehand - I'll take full responsibility for that. Even Emma said that I should have worn it, but it was a mistake on my end, and they happen - I just had to deal with it and put on the next best option.
Thank you for your help though 😊
Happy to know u get this kind of experience
Thank you! It was so much fun! 😁
So happy that you two enjoyed the raya open house..
Thank you, it was such a good event! 😊
Awesome
You're awesome! Thanks for watching 😉😊
Hello! how much longer u guys gona be in KL? heading that way from Miami, if u guys still around would love to connect 🙏🏼
Hey! We're around KL until the end of next month, however are quite busy trying to round up videos in anticipation for our Philippines trip! When abouts are you coming back?
u should go to prime minister of malaysia open house coz more bigger and lots variety of foods
That would be amazing, but we heard they were not hosting open houses this year due to cut backs? Not sure whether this is true, but we hadn't looked into it since! 😓
please someone who do family open house around KL invite them to your open house for them to experience real open house...
We have such a busy schedule ahead until we leave for the Philippines in May, but we are glad we managed to go to an event at least 😊
Omg I'm in that video when I doing performance
Oh really! That's so amazing you've seen our video! Which one were you? 😄
Hi there.I hope both of you are doing great. Are you in Malaysia.I would like to invite both of you to my open house this Wednesday (1st May).Do get back bo me
I think they are already left for thailand
Hi there, sorry for any confusion with our videos, we have some which we are catching up on from a little while back so it might seem like we are in Thailand, but we're not! 😅 We are still in Malaysia at the minute. We'd love to join but unfortunately we're busy over the next couple of days. Thank you so much for the invite though, we really wish we had been able to attend as it sounds like such an amazing time 😭
Thank you for your support Sir Bob - we really appreciate it 😊 We covered up as much as we could whilst keeping it as smart as possible (I know that's not much of a thing for Jacob at least as he's always scruffy! 😂). There was no dress code though as we had messaged the event organiser and he said we could wear anything.
We appreciate the feedback though on what people think is suitable or not, everyone is entitled to their opinion, we try to keep as respectful as possible and try not to be ignorant/rude - we'd never want to come across that way, especially considering we are in the public eye. 😊
Nice event. But this one hosted by a corporation. Equally good are open houses hosted by families. That is true open house - someone who open their house to people.
We would have loved to attend an open house this year but it's a shame we haven't managed to! It sounds like such a fantastic experience! 😊
I think wearing long pants would be the more appropriate for the occasion instead of shorts
Unfortunately, I don't actually own a pair of long trousers any more in Malaysia! I did bring a pair with me when we first moved here, however as I didn't wear it at all, I checked in the wardrobe not too long ago and the humidity had got to them and they had mould over them 😭 I should look into getting another pair in honest, but its the cost of it, alongside wearing it on very few occasions as it's so hot 😅
@@DisappearforDaysPants made from cotton/polyester or just plain denims would be fine...comfortable and cool*, just like we M'sians do wear.
* pertaining to the weather😊
I want to know about Angpow 😅😅😅😅 how much?? Gift from compiny❤❤❤
yeah i wanna know too RM?
Haha, we knew some people would! If you follow us on Instagram, we usually post some little behind the scene bits on there such as how much we got! Check us out if you can!
Each angpow had RM10 inside which is obviously not a life changing amount, but pays for a meal out or a bit of shopping, and considering there were over 300 people there, that's a very generous amount in our eyes! ☺
@@DisappearforDays just hpy²🫰🫰 to celebrat ..
Exactly! We totally didn't expect it, but it was a nice touch! 😀
1
That was quick! 🤭
Omg is it no tables and chairs there?
There were chairs for people to sit on, but they were fully occupied so we decided the wall would work just as well 😂
In my mind I was like please please don't tell me he wore shorts to the Raya event...... and then I saw that u did. I thought u've got some Malaysian blood in u (am I mistaken?), should've known better man. Just saying
Noooo, I'm sorry to have let you down, please forgive me 🥺 I do have Malaysian blood in me, but in fairness the event organiser just said to wear whatever we felt comfortable with and we didn't have any other options! I didn't realise shorts were such a bad thing at this kind of event in honesty, but we all make mistakes - lesson learnt! 😅

Thank you for watching! 😀❤️
Why the boy hav his skinney leg out 🗿
🗿🗿🗿
Please do not wear short when you go for Raya Open house. A bit of respect please!!!
Apologies if this offended you - this was not our intention. We messaged the event organiser and he said we could wear whatever made us feel comfortable. Now I was meant to wear a button shirt to be more formal, but hadn't ironed it the night before which is my bad.
Either way, I hope this doesn't change your perception of us as a couple, we try to be as respectful and courteous of traditions as possible.
Thank you for watching 😊
@@DisappearforDays being half Malaysian yourself you should know this, it is a no no, to attend Raya Open house with short despite what the organisers said..if a Muslim friend invited you for an Open House, you should smart casual, best if you wear Baju Melayu, it shows that your appreciation for the invites, by making an effort. Guess you should get more local friends or relatives that can guide the proper way to go around in Malaysia ..
Though I'm half Malaysian, I'm half Chinese Malaysian, and so haven't been brought up around these traditions unfortunately and therefore my understanding is lacking in that aspect. As said, I was meant to wear a buttoned shirt, but that fell through. Now we know for next time at least! 😊
Too bad this year the pm cancelled the national open house.
yeah
Definitely! We would have loved to attend - we heard such great things about it! 😊
@DisappearforDays I have been to a national open house at sri perdana in 2018. What an interesting outing. Plenty of good food. But traffic was horrible. Some people walked for miles as parking was not available near the venue as no one intend to leave the premise early.
Next time u go to an open house, please wear a respectable attire n not wear a tshirt n shorts like u did. That s not a picnic dear, a bit of respect 😅
I agree with you. Most people would just ignore that because they're foreigners but i feel like it would be better if he wore a shirt and a pair of trousers
Edit- spelling
sorry i disagree.. they respectfull enough for me
Sorry if we showed any sign of disrespect with our clothing. We did message our contact before hand who worked for the organisation and asked about a dress code. He said it was traditional for Malay people to wear the Baju Melayu/Kurung, however said there was no dress code for the event. We still tried to dress moderately and appropriately for the occasion, and though I did have a shirt to wear - I had forgotten to iron it and didn't want to turn up looking like a scruff - that's completely my fault. Either way, as said, we show respect and treated everyone there with respect as much as we can and no one had mentioned anything to us whilst we were there. Anyway, I'm waffling now, but yeah, we hope you can understand we didn't mean to cause any disrespect! 😊
On occasion like this, Out of courtesy to the host, it is better to dress appropriately. FOR men, at least T shirt and long pants, For ladies, at least a non-revealing Blouse and knee lenght skirt. 😊 Just observed how the other guests are dressed
We had contacted the event organiser and asked what the dress code was, and he advised to wear whatever we felt comfortable in. Admittedly, I did mean to wear a button shirt but forgot to iron it before the day which is completely my fault - but we didn't think to much of it considering our contact had said to wear anything.
Looking back, of course I wish I had now, but mistakes happen and we hope it doesn't change you opinion of us as a couple 😊
@@DisappearforDays Malaysian are forgiving for first time mistakes. Do not worry about it as nobody had told you of Malaysian dressing etiquette. As always follow to the English expression " dress to the occasion"😇😇
Thank you for your understanding 😊
I hope you finish all the food you take. Wasting is a very bad practice.
Remember the suffering of the people of countries that have economic problems and whose sovereignty is invaded like the Palestinian. 😢
If you watch our previous videos you'll know we don't like food waste either! Jacob is like a garbage disposal unit when it comes to leftover foods! 😂
Please wear a proper clothes if u get invitation to any open house..u wear only t shirt to open house..it's consider rude..everyone at open house wear proper clothes..but u only shirt...what if I do to ur country...get invitation from local to any party but I wear shirt..just for reminder for u to respect people invitation
sorry i disagree.. they respecfull enough
Thank you for the support Sir Bob - As mentioned in a previous comment we are sorry if we showed any sign of disrespect with our clothing. We did message our contact before hand who worked for the organisation and asked about a dress code. @@DisappearforDays some netizen so sensitive.. i can see people at the open house really have no problem with u guys..

You're awesome! Thanks for watching 😊
i dont understand the bitter comment about how u guys dress.. the host dont mind but why they got offended?? as long as u guys cover enough its okay to attend it..
Let bygone be bygone. It is our duty to tell what is appropriate for the occasion. Dressing appropriately is showing courtesy and respect to the host😊 I have seen many non-Malay wearing shorts at Malay wedding, which is a sign of being rude and ignorant.
@@amiryazidali7659 but they dress modestly right? no sexy at all.. also i see no dress code require there so why u say disrespect?
Thank you for your support Sir Bob, we really appreciate it. Though we understand that everyone has an opinion, and we will always give someone's view the time of day. We had contacted the organiser for the event and he expressed that there was no dress code, just that Malaysian people would traditionally wear the Baju Malayu and Baju Kurung.
We tried to dress as moderately as possible considering our current wardrobe, though just regret not ironing my shirt stupidly enough! 🤦 Either way, we have not intended to offend anyone, be rude, or ignorant - if anything we try so hard to do the exact opposite especially considering we are in the public eye on TH-cam and have a lot of Muslim followers. 😊
@@DisappearforDays no problem guys.. hope u guys still motivated to do more content here
