  • Budgies are highly neglected and kept as decoration thinking they need nothing more, lacking care and proper diet. I hope this video reaches out to people with budgies or wanting budgies on the care they deserve and need. You can find cages and accessories on amazon as well as their food. Tops, Harrison and zupreem are great brands, look for the natural pellets

    They are so easily mistreated. We have 4. Had to learn through research that the tiny cage wasn't sufficient. At the time I wish they (pet store people) would have told me to get a large flight cage. Another great video💜💜

    Excellent video! I really hate how some people consider budgies to be "starter birds". They are just as unique and require just as much care as any other bird.
    I currently have two girls which I have owned since 2012-2013, and they are both still doing very well.
    I also have a boy who was caught by my sister and brother-in-law around 7 years back. They noticed a colorful bird that went to their bird feeder throughout the summer one year. I assume he either escaped or was let go. They tried to catch him on several occasions but with no success. I ended up bringing over a spare cage and put treats inside, and then rigged a string to the cage door and into the house, so when he was spotted going in to the get the food, the door shut with a pull of the string.
    I am so thankful to have caught him, as it was getting to the point where the weather was really cooling down at night, and he wouldn't have survived. Now, he has a good life and he takes good care of my two girls :-). I never tire of his singing every morning.
    Sorry for the long comment, I just like talking about my birds LOL.

      @Megan Webster complete myth. Its important to research a parrot you want and see if its attributes match what you can handle. For example; a sun conure is SUPER loud but very cuddly, so its that can i handle the level of loudness? Its also a good idea to go somewhere where there are parrots and just be around that noise level, see how you feel about it

    I love this video! How much vegetable chop should we give our budgies and should I put fresh fruits and vegetables in their pellets or separately?

    • @mimisbirdhouse
      @mimisbirdhouse  ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually budgies will eat a spoon full :) and yes fresh fruits is perfect, usually a treat due to its sugar content. slice a small piece of apple, blueberry, papaya as an example, they all have their preferences.
      i think the veggie and pellet thing is per person. some people feed chop for breakfast and then give pellets. some people offer both, depends on you and your budgie :)
